Looks mobile carrier Docomo want to get ahead of their competition by introducing mobile phones which can not only watch TV, listen to MP3, browse the internet and vibrate - but also produce smells. I'm guessing that there will be sites using this technology to produce pantsu smells in the not too distant future. Hmmm, visuals, vibrating, noise AND smells? Any takers? Via JapanProbe.

Do you have to buy some kind of mini-item that actually contains the odors, put it in the phone and refill it once it's empty? If it's the case, this phone is completely purposeless. And I'd pass on that... Artificial smells are just some sort of poison when you think of it (and the human body is relatively weak as well).

I remember something like this to the gamecube, were you would put a pill of some sort and it would produce the smell of grass, burned rubber and asphalt. Don't know if it got released, but smells in these kinda things are just a waste of time and energy.

The stuff you'd have to put into the phone just to make these smells would probably end up being such a waste of time (and money), that something like this would soon go out of fashion. I mean, sure, it'd be nice and dandy to have the smell of say, flowers, every time you're talking on the phone... but aside from that, it really doesn't serve a big purpose. That's one bell/whistle that phones definitely don't need!
