Trading Figures

Trading Figures
Taste has more pics in his review of these Idol Master trading figures by Alter.
I dont usually pay attention to trading figures as I have not been a fan of the quality but these Alter figures look more than decent at just 650 yen each.
Anybody here collect trading figures and if so are there any that you particularly recommend (to collect or avoid) ?
More pics at Alter.

I'm not sure what kind they are, but I know you have one that's probably from the same company. It has the "H" for Haruhi on the base, but the trading figures don't have them colored in. I've gotten two that I'm not too proud of in terms of quality (Both of them were Mikuru too, how sad ; ( ) The parts that go into the holes on the base have been the problem both times, but that's the only downside in terms of those figurines that I've had.

I have to say I love trading figurines because of the variants (There's on of Gintoki, a diabetic samurai. In one figurine he has a sword in one hand and a sheath in the other. and in the variant version he has a spoon in one and a strawberry sundae in the other.

I think they're very similar, if not in fact, gashapons:p Kinda pisses me off that the only figures of Negima are gashapon now that I think about 'em. Negima REALLY REALLY needs some figures made.
*looks at danny*
you've got connections in the industry, right? Chip in a little word for us :D

Uh, actually there was one Negima trading figure set, released a bit before the 1st anime series was released. They were based on the manga artwork (I think). http://www.figure.fm/post/3256/Negima%20Trading%20Figures%20from%20Konami/
They're tons better than those Figumate (SD) ones, I think. Anyways, you're right that they should've released some more & better trading figs (for the anime) by now...

They look so pale... Is it because of the background or are they really ill?

I did spent alot on trading figures but in the end i give up because i have great luck of getting defected product such as lost an arm or have two legs
(T_T) my Aqua's Akari has two left legs with no right leg
and they easily get bended after a period of time.

For reasons now known, all references to "$@!$" figures should be done with Q-Joy *breaks out in hives* as the reference point. Apparently not many can withstand Sad3r-whoops.

I collect trading figures of series that I like. The last ones i bought were in a anime shop in Orlando. I bought one Oh My Goddess bikni and one Rival School. I wanted to buy a bunch of oh my goddess ones, but i bought the last one. I ended up getting Skuld and Natsu. Have to finish both sets up.

But only from series I really liked probably...

Oh sweet, I have most of series one of these except for Yukiho ( ;_;). They came in two variant colors, black or silver and they're very well done...like miniature 1/8th figures (quality wise I mean). They cost quite a bit to purchase, don't think my wallet has the strength to withstand another barrage of these.

no, trading figures aren't like gashapons. gashapons are much smaller, and what you would expect to find in those machines that you put coins in and turn the knob. but in both cases, the chances of you getting something is totally random, so you may end up with extras.

Nope, not nendoroids, since you choose what you want and you pay for those only...
The 'trading' part dosen't have much to do with nendoroids...
However, it might be a different case with the nendoroid petit...

Those look pretty good, if I can find separate ones for the chars I like maybe I'll get one. I'm not too big on trading figures now since I almost never get one I want. :( The last time I got one was the Code Geass Portraits, I got Suzaku. He was alright, the quality was better than I thought.

I used to be a big trading figure buyer before I could get my hands on bigger figures.

The Xenosaga trading figures I have are of very good quality. Very pretty too.

Price is a major factor on trading figures for me. £3-4 good, £5 is a bit pricy, £8 which is what I got my Xenosaga fig for. But she's 4 inches tall, so it was worth it.
