Ah, those were good times. This is reminding me of the good headache times I watched GITS, those things were cool.

Meh, I wouldn't really get it, but it looks great though.

Guess we'd call that the rollout color version. Wouldn't mind having one around to do the laundry.

Ah, but even though this one's not made of metal, I might rather have it nonetheless:

Tachikoma are so cool! Just hearing their voices makes me cheerful.
But the LEDs on this one frighten me a bit, I wonder why (maybe because I see a face in that)?

Sure is. I was kind of anxious about if I was not being able to watch past seasons, but they are easily available via streaming.
I guess they are next on my watchlist.
And it's not for Major Kusanagi alone... The plot, characters, ambiance, music, songs... Everything is great.
It's quite a violent show though (not recommended to kids. ^^).

GitS: Sac is a good show. Both seasons. And make sure to watch the Tachikomatic Days eps at the end.

As for would I want one? Maybe. I'd like to get the one that reads your e-mail, though, if it was in English. And for the record, my laptop is Tachikoma themed. (Background, login/logout. Trying to find sound files that I can use for system sounds.)

i think thats what the designers intended. they are called jigabachi after all. if im not mistaken bachi or hachi is a root word for any flying insect like bees or wasps.

you're right on the flying insect. hachi is japanese for bee. i hadn't seen the show in a long long time, so i never knew what the helicopters were called.

i never noticed this until i saw the vid but when the tachikomas cloak, their shadows remain visible which kind of makes cloaking impractical doesnt it?

Btw, upon looking at the video links, I found this, I watched and I LOLed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gFKx8iGiLY
(No, it is not Rick Roll, and really Tachikoma-related. I guess it is Polish-subbed also). Any possible general translation there?
Much appreciated!

It's on the Be Human album. (Which I have.) It translates roughly as AI Combat Team Tachikoma. It's a pretty funny take on the superhero/Super Sentai show themes. I'll try to find the album booklet that has the translation in it.
