Japan and Robots

Japan and Robots
"Robots could be performing the work of 3.52 million people by 2025 to help cover a labor shortage in the graying society, an industry body said Thursday.
The Machine Industry Memorial Foundation has estimated that “working robots” under development by Honda Motor Co. and many other leading companies could take over about 970,000 jobs in medical and nursing care services.
In the agriculture and forestry sector, 450,000 jobs could be held by robots if harvesting and pruning robots spread widely, according to the foundation, an affiliate of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
In services such as cleaning and delivery, robots could do the jobs of 1.41 million people.
It projects that 74 minutes of free time per household could be created each day by robots that do household chores such as cleaning. This could help more women enter the labor market, the foundation said."

As long as all the robots look like Chii instead then I'm all for it.
If you had a Chii, would you get more free time (because she would be doing work for you), or would you get less free time (because you would be playing with her all day instead).

EP01 of Chobits below in dubbed in English.

If i had a robot like Chii I think it would have to fight harder to keep my free time =/, although, she would probably free up a lot of time for me so that wouldn't be a problem ^^, haha.

But I really would go for robots to take care of household things, it would make the world a lot better IMO.

If the robots would be similiar to the ones in Koharu Biyoru, then I would def save up and buy one.

It would be pretty cool if the robots started a revolution against the humankind, like in a sci-fi. ^^;

If I had a Chii someone would have to find my dead body from exhaustion after... eh? As much time as I could spend playing with her non-stop. :P

These findings are entirely from the people who believe they'll make a profit building robots. It would take an extremely sophisticated robot to perform even the most menial human task.

robots one get a mind of their own?here's my theory of the robot evolution:

1)the I.ROBOT senario
robots get a mind of their own

2)followed by terminator senario:
machines take over the world!

3)FINALLY !! TRANSFOMERS!!! (0-0)
WTF!!?? robots that talk and move on their own?

in short:
humans replace dinosaurs, robots replaced us and became transformers.

hope you get it.=)

I don´t know if i would have more time, i´ve heard u can access something called the "internet" or something like this with your own Chii. And i´ve heard you could wake up everyday nosebleeding, so it wouldn´t be good for your health and what if your bedsheets/dakimakuras have major blood stains... even if Chii would clean ´em everyday, the color would fade soon and you have to buy new ones (which costs time and money)... I guess a lil Sumomo-mobile-persocon would be enough for me, she would help me 2 stay in shape, wake me up in the morning and *looks at Sumomo Mascot* is so cute!

Intresting, after I finished watching Chobits a few years ago. I really wanted a Persocom, O_o. So I went searching on Yahoo and Google to see where our level of technology is at for creating anything similar to Chii. But I gotta say, I saw some creepy looking stuff which kinda made me not really want a robot anymore. Unless it looks exactly like Chii, xD , and when you hug it, it feels warm, o_o , and it has to have facial expression, *starts day dreaming* , ^o^ .
