Live Action Gundam

Live Action Gundam
Gundam.info has announced that there will be a live action movie of "Gundam RX78 - Hajimari" - "Hajimari" meaning "Beginning."
They also named the actor for Amuro which will be Hiroshi Tamaki who you may already know from shows like Nodame.
More info as soon as I get it.

Even though the idea is great(actually i've been waiting for this for the longest time), we all should have known better by now, Japanese are the GODS of anime, but when it comes to Live-Action movies, everything from storyline to props to the acting becomes acid washed to no better than any B-movie no matter how hard they try.

I really hope they don't screw this up.

How much of a "beginning" are they going to Begin with?

Will it have anything to do with Gundam 00?

My young pandawan, Gundam 00 is about the end of A.D. date and the beginning of the U.C. date. Hence Gundam "00".

The whole story of Gundam 00 is the Origin of "Gundam" and the "Beginning" of Gundam.

Have you watched ep25 of Gundam 00 yet?
Pay close attention at the end of the whole show.

thank you for epic fail:

Gundam 00 - "The series is set in the years 2307-2312 AD of the Gregorian calendar"

Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 - "In a pre-production memo, Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino wrote that the first series takes place in 2066 AD[2], which would have the Universal Century calendar starting in 1988 AD. However, a "2079" date stamp in the first Gundam series's episode 26 and a "2087" date stamp in Zeta Gundam's episode 8 indicated a 2001 AD starting date."

"The proclamation that the setting would neither be in the Universal Century of the original nor the Cosmic Era of Gundam SEED, as stated by Sunrise's Yasuo Miyakawa, seems to have been followed through with."

So the beginning is actually 230 or so years after the one year war, the gryps war, and the whole shabang... wow first time i have heard of this :3 i know that UC timeline had a lot of inconsistency but did they not say before 00 came out that these are two completely separate timelines, oh Lord Vader? fail

Thank you very much for that still confusing explanation. I knew if i "fail" epically enough, some real Gundam Master Dolphin Polisher will come fore and answer my original question.

Sp from what i understand from you post is that Gundam 00 is not of the same time line as the original Gundam series or in fact any series that have ever been? e.g. First Contact of Star Trek has acutally nothing at all to do with the original Star Trek TV series?

I read from the wikipedia article that the creator of Gundam didn't want anything to do with and so they can't put "Gundam" in their title in anyway.

I saw some clips of it from youtube too, it's a real piece of shit.

Good to know this. Hopes all things goes smoothly and the next thing I would like to hear about is that they are "in production".

Also glad that this series will be presented to us by the Japanese. G-Saviour was kinda bad. Hopes the success of this live action movie will path the future for more Gundam live action.

Oh, and is it only me or is the chin/face of this guy too sharp to look like Amuro Ray? No matter how I look he doesnt look like Amuro to me. Maybe its the hair
