Japanese Live Broadcast

Japanese Live Broadcast
Q: What happens when a young kid gets injured on live TV doing stunts?
A: Play it down big time.
The clip on Japan Probe was removed but here is another one which TBS will no doubt ask YouTube to remove. If you fail to see it, just do a search for "TBS."

A Japanese comment for that vid says "its only a small cut - stop screaming."
Looks like no small cut to me and must have been bad to bleed that much in that short amount of time.

Somehow that looks more like an open wound. Telling people to stop screaming is a bit too over-the-board, there :( He's still a kid, for God's sake.

minor wounds in head bleed a lot, when I was a child my brother and I bled a lot as a result of games, but it's not that dangerous.
Accidents happens everywhere, but people is overreacting as expected.

It's just a small cut, really.
Being a martial artist as he is i'm sure he's had much worse, notice his lack of reaction.

Lol, no one said shouldn't 'treat' it.
The important thing is that there is no impact to the head, which there didn't appear to be.
Definately not worth screaming about.
I bleed like that once in a while, just tape it up and keep going.

Never thought that kind of stuff would happen...Martial artists bleeding like that... Guess they remain human after all.
And they spend twenty seconds trying to reassure the public instead of sending the kid to the infirmary without delay.
Very particular attitude if you ask me as I am more of a "Hey, I don't give a damn about the public shame, safety first" type.

It probably really isn't all that terrible. Even minor head wounds bleed like a fountain, without being very deep.

Regardless, it's too bad that making kids do stunts resulting in injury serves as entertainment nowadays.

I dunno, there is a lot of blood, but that doesn't necessarily mean the cut is bad. His heart rate is up, which means his blood pressure goes up. That could explain the amount of blood. Yes he got hurt, but then again he doesn't seem to be in much pain. Just rub some dirt on it and walk it off.

Just in case this hasn't been mentioned, I looked through the video to try and see where he got hit, and as far as I can tell, the guy at 0:38 hits him hard with his "weapon" and then backs away. If I just smacked the kid like that, I'd back out of there pretty quickly too :)

In their defense, he is a martial artist...how many times do you think he got hurt training? If you think none, you are probably wrong! Also as somebody mentioned, head wounds are also faster to bleed and bleed more.

Of course, I sympathize with the kid, but I don't know what could have been done in this situation either.

Seems like the actors overdid their acting...

From the looks of it, seems like child exploitation to me. The kid is skilled in his craft, no doubt about that, but at the very least he should have been given some medical care for his wounds, no matter how small it is... and the TV-show hosts failed that... shame on them l00s3rs..
TV-entertainment is imho, nothing but marketing stupidity, but thats just me (not all entertainment is bad though).

Seen enough of this sh*t back home in my paradise home of Philippines, and i really hate it. Children should be doing what they like best on their own, and in their own way, not for the amusement of parents and the general public.

If this was done in Norway, it would be branded as illegal and punishable by law. Norway has very strict child-protection laws, which i'm grateful that they have.

sorry for this long post, but i gotta spill out whats on my mind right now.

I can agree with what many people already said, about head wounds often bleeding far more than their actual damage worth. And yes, a martial artist such as this kid will experience a couple thousand wounds like this.

BUT, at the same time, it's the little things like this that are the reasons for child protection laws, especially theater/TV/Movie actors. In the U.S., such a display of "the show must go on!" would gain that television show a fine. Child Protection since the cute little girl in Pologiest died on stage, has dramatically increased in the U.S. Too bad it isn't so OFF stage.

This kind of crap happens on American television as well. Something bad obviously happens, and rather than the hosts show concern or address the problem, they completely ignore it and move on to make sure their job isn't in jeopardy. I would respect the reporter even more so if they stopped the crap and show genuine concern towards their guests or address a mix up.

If you think that is bad, go and tell that to the stunt actors/actress.. They have the worst injuries sustained when doing stunts..

And I will wish the boy a good recovery..

Something they were probably prepared and expecting to happen.

In fact, judging by the kids moves, he trained very hard on kung-fu. And during training, getting hurt is pretty common.

But the staff probably took him away from the screen quickly because paramedics prepared to deal with such things were already in place to treat him.

I see this is probably some promo for the movie about the kung-fu kid Danny posted sometime ago.

And that's exactly why I said in that post that I feel kids shouldn't be expose to adult's business.

just for proper knowledge, its possible that its a small cut because the blood vessels on the surface of the head are under very high pression. So yeah its still very concerning even if the cut is small. Although people shouldnt really get too agitated because it'll only make it worst. Oh and on another note this cut is probably close to nothing as to what the boy could've suffered on his training. (Just like Jackie Chan had thousands of injuries XD)
