All these are members of the music group AKB48.
What do you think is the maximum number of members a band can take before it starts to become silly?
Do you have music groups in your region with hordes of members too?
AKB48 photo session below - quite a few cuties though.

Aitakatta is the only song I know from the group and yes, since the first time I heard it I couldn't take it out of my mind for a while.
But I don't know, since I'm fan of H!P I can't really turn to other bands...
I know this is weird but I think I'm not the only one.

i think a band with 5 people is more than enough. you got bass, guitar, drums, lead singer, and a mc. having 44 people in a band is just too much, you can start your own orchestra with that number

I remember there being large numbered bands in the UK like Blazin' Squad with 9 MCs (See you at the crossroads! - I'm so sad that I still remember it) and So Solid Crew with 17 vocalists, 9 DJs, 13 producers and even 11 So-Solid Kids. I never knew there were even So-Solid Kids!!! Remember how my friends and TV used to laugh at them and only a few members actually made the band. But 44 members...I bet only around 4 or 5 of them actually does some 'singing' while the other 40 odd just leech off their success. Still, there are a couple of nice looking ones to drool over.

Yeah and now they just came up with another crazy marketing. They just released a new photo book of AKB48 and each book comes with 5 special photos of members, from total of 848 pictures.

Get it? 5 out of 848 per photo book. So to collect them all, you need some super miracle and buy 172 of the photo books. Photo book has 4 different versions and if you collect all four, you get to attend a special event where you can shake hands with AKB48 supposedly. I wonder if there are any hardcore AKB48 fans that will fall for this ploy...

isn't it hard for a music studio to support a band with that much members?

for example for a singaer, the manager only have to pay him/her one salary. but for a band with 48 members won't the manager have to pay 48 salary? O_O

Just one thing I wanted to add, the number 48 was reandomly selected, and it by no means reflects the number of people there will be on the group. While they were 48 in some time, they only started out with 20 or so.

They aren't a normal group in that they don't make only PVs and CDs, but they work in a teather doing shows daily and twice on the weekends.

BTW, this picture is not really updated, in March 3 some girls were added to the 3 main team's roster (for a total of 46 now, having something like 12 SEED).

BTW, the girl in third row first column is called Oku Manami, also follow Kazearashi's advice and join stage48 ^^.
