Japanator alerts us to a coolsome Death Note parody. I'm not a fan of this sponge but did think this was interesting. Am I the only one who always thinks of Yagami Light when watching Gundam 00? Via Japan Probe.

This makes me wonder what the movie and music industry will say once they achieved stopping all illegal downloads and the profits still won't go up. Anyway, this is bad news for a lot of perfectly legal online businesses as well. For example Vuze's and bittorrent.com's online stores or the programs using bittorrent for software updates (like World of Warcraft). They won't be able to block all the file sharing traffic without a lot of collateral damage. This makes me wonder why the ISPs do the blocking and screwing their customers without defending themselves first. I mean, they just offer the infrastructure. Making the ISPs responsible for illegal downloads is like making the government responsible for bank robberies, because they built the streets the robbers use to escape. Anyway, change the port of your bittorrent client to a non-standard port and make sure it only accepts encrypted transfers. This will make it a bit harder to identify and block your transfers. If this doesn't work anymore there's still IRC. ^^ These Japanese ISPs aren't the first to block file sharing traffic. AFAIK the American ISP Comcast and the German ISP Kabel Deutschland already started blocking/slowing down P2P-traffic. BTW: This is the best Death Note parody I've seen so far. ^^
