Some nice Ex Machina digirama pics to be found at Tamaki's. Ended up not being able to find time to see it in the theater but its out on DVD now. For folks who have ordered the DVD but cant wait for it to arrive, you can find it on YouTorrent. Has anybody seen it yet? Trailer below.
It is much better graphic improvement than the fist Appleseed. A lot of people said, it captures the essence of the Appleseed world. For me, I like the manga better. It has more actions. It looks like the CG film fail on the action part. May be I expect too much.
I saw the English dubbing one and went 'nooo' and couldn't finish watching it... I'm not extreme Japanese dubbind purist or anything but sometimes English dubbing makes me cringe in pain...
I'm a purist... nothing against english, but for me it just doesn't work, no matter how perfect the lipsync is. About this... YouTorrent it is. Looks nice.
i saw the subs at the internets but i haven't tried it yet ^^;;;
saw this a while ago, was very pleased with how it came out
Eh... I'm not a big fan of that type of animation. But I did enjoy Karas.
Nice. Isnt that the the walkway on side of the UDX building in Akiba? Yknow - the one you cross to get to Yodobashi Akiba?
Just picked the Blu-Ray version the other day. The animation is really nice. Unfortunately the story is a little weak. Not to mention that it turns in to The Matrix Revolutions at the end. I liked the CG better this time, but like the story from the first one better.
Watched on DVD. Very disappointing. 'Does not compare to the original. Rent before buying if interested!
Best looking Briareos ever. Other then that I could take it or leave it.
...interesting i'll download now...^^
Wow! Nice photochopped!
Rented this on blu-ray and have to say the animation/art/detail is better than the first Appleseed but didn't give me the "whoa cool" effect like the first one did. Compared to other blu-ray anime titles, the picture quality kinda blows on this one. It's not very consistent. Regarding the story, it was interesting at first but like others have said, it turns into some strange Matrix-style storyline towards the end. The whole love-triangle thing with Tereus/Briareos/Deunan kinda just feels awkward to have in the story especially in the end when (spoiler) Deunan and Briareos are embracing each other to what appears to be sunset w/ Tereus just sitting tight in the back. It's just kinda corny. Another thing I'm going to nitpick is that the action is great, but in some scenes I wish it wasn't so "John Woo" because you swear Chow Yun Fat could've done better. =D
I'll say this. It was a great movie. I loved the first one. The second one was sick!!!!!!
Got this (released DVD this week) and loved it. The cell-shaded characters are a lot more fluid this time (but still not photorealistic like Advent Children). In a way it straddles that fine line between anime and ...not-quite-anime. Yah, the English dub is pretty weird in some places. This is true of all the languages (the Region 1 release comes with 4 or 5 languages). As for the digiramas... they're neat. I'm looking forward to artists releasing some using the Medicom RAH figures too (I prefer the RAH head to the Takara one).
Wow, looks great ^^ I saw "Vexille" the other day, and it was a blast. Heard it was the same maker as Appleseed ^^
The cel-shading looks grittier this time around and the story dips into the relationship between Deunan and Briareos. Those parts I liked. But the action sequences really sucked balls. What a letdown. There's a reason why I don't like John Woo films. For me it turned this movie from a buy to a rent. Thanks Woo ...
as an animator myself.. i was very pleased with the eye candy.. took a couple of cues from the matrix.. but thats fine.. i enjoyed it.. the dub was good enough for me.. not the best (didnt sync up for the lips alot of the time.) i'd recomend it.. :D
I almost thought it was a promotional event, the picture looks too real.
Downloaded。 ^^
cool!! looks real
Will definitely make time to watch this. I'm a big appleseed fan. ^^
seen the english dub. love the animation but the dub just sounds wrong. orz
Have always preferred the manga for its gritty feel. This movie still feels very plastic to me. When is the manga going to be completed??
Seems Final Fantasy had a big influence in this new Apple Seed movie.
