Akiba Hobby has more pics of this 1/100 scale Gundam Astraea together with more Gunpla goodies from the Miyazawa Mokei show.

This looks good. I've never looked at the quality of the 1/100 scale kits recently - are they coming close to MG standard?

It's supposed to be Astraea's GN launcher, not it's beam rifle.

Agreed.
Danny, the posability of the 1/100s are amazing compared to how they used to be. On the other hand, the MGs have gotten much better too.

the newer MGs almost have the posability of PGs. guess that's why there haven't been a new PG in ages. the NG 1/100 kits are improving a lot and can compared to the posability of the older MGs. i know a lot of people don't like to buy the 1/144 HGs because they're small and lack detail, but the newer ones are really good and definitely worth a buy if you're into gunpla.

now i just need to make time to finish my second sazabi. adding an orange metallic coat to this one.

Danny: The newer HG 1:100s are very good - the Saviour, for example, is a brilliant kit. They're not up to MG standards - they have fewer parts, and they're not nearly as poseable - but they're very good for the price. That said, the newest MGs are superb as well.

Other than the 1/144 and the FGs, all Gundam 00 kits are currently non-graded. But 1/100 Exia have excellent posability.

Just got myself a Virtue too, comes with the cast off ability.

The quality of the 1/100 line has improved but its not master grade quality unfortunately. But, the seed destiny 1/100s from 06' onwards where done by the same staff that worked on master grades.

Not all gundams need to be decked out with weapons. That's what I like about 00 over the SEED series, honestly. By the end of that god forsaken series, Strike Freedom, Destiny, and Infinite Justice were friggin hax

The Destiny wasn't hax; more like it was hax-ed. Personally, I always thought Destiny was a bit poorly built for its specifications. And those Cooridinators with the supposededly-l33t piloting skills become tin cans with rifles in front of the Clyne forces. At least in Gundam 00, you can see the grunt pilots actually TRYING to kill off the Gundams.

they recently stepped up quality, if you haven't been on the scene (or, at least that the case with HG... Not a MG or PG fan... Because I can't bring them back b/c they are too big, and they cost a bit more than usual...)

I have the ungraded 1/60 Exia kit. In some ways its a let down, barely MG level of movement in some areas, but at the same time I don't miss spending a night just building an arm. I'm looking at you PG Zeta. :)

I actually prefer this Astrea to Exia, the whole sword thing sounds cool but that big switch blade on the arm just makes it seem much too top heavy. The HG Astrea seems to be priced higher than other HG 1/100 kits, I'm guessing it's because of that rumored price hike on the gunpla in general? Well price hike or not, if they makes a 1/100 Flag Graham Custom...I'm there! :D

I prefer the 1/144 Astraea conversion over the 1/100 Astraea model because the proportions are slightly better.

This is my Exia-to-Astraea:

Sorry... for some reason, the link breaks because there are spaces between "HG", "Gundam", and "Exia" so you have to hightlight all the way up to "Exia" to get it to work ^_^;

The NG 1/100 Astray Red Frame had amazing posability. Its about as close to an MG as I have seen a 1/100 get. Actually, its more posable than almost all of my MG's.
