I would totally get one of these arcade machines. We used to have two arcades and two pinball machines downstairs when I was younger. Id rather have a SFIITurbo arcade machine to be honest...

DRAGUN, ever tried Street Fighter Zero/Alpha 3?
All the characters from SF II and the Zero series, plus new ones.
The home version is even better, given you have the World Tour mode and Dramatic battle (Which is basically two-on one, etc.)

What about Super Street Fighter II Turbo then? (One of the few I never had the chance to play to... The first apparition of Supers and the blue aura effect, Gouki/Akuma and a few other things)

About the SF IV video:
- Does not seem much different than what I've been used to for all these years;
- I guess I hate Zangief more than any character in SF now. Since SF Ex II he has become so cheap it's not even funny fighting against him. How so? You attack him, he blocks all your moves and he pulls out those insane piledrivers each time you want to make him taste your fists/feet.
- Yup, given Sagat is there too, it seems it's SF II all over again.

About the Arcana Heart clip:
- The video is nice and I wonder if there will be an anime of it.
- The song left me petrified.

About the Arcana Heart in-game video:
- I haven't seen much different from the usual 2D fighting game genre there;
- I have always loved those confrontations between one slow but super strong and high-reach attacks character and one who is much faster, has projectiles but is quite weaker as well.

If it was about 2D Fighting games, I'd prefer having a safe bet, like SF Zero 3 (again) or KoF 2000.
Played SF III and it didn't inspire me much, sadly.

I agree, 2D fighters are better in general. There's not alot of things that can go wrong like in a 3D fighter.

SF Alpha 3, KOF XI and Capcom vs SNK 2 are my favorite 2D fighters

As for 3D, well... I'd have to say Tekken 5 (Dark Resurection) is pretty much the best. Virtua Fighter 5 has a learning curve just too steep to be really enjoyable off the bat.

One 3D that I really enjoyed, but isn't actually a traditional 3D fighter was Kengo 2 or Sword of Samurai on the PS2. The sword duels just feel awesome, shame it's a little repetitive...

Considering this is supposed to be a more direct canonical sequel to SFII, having all the characters return is fine with me.

And even if it plays like SFII apart from the new revenge meter and other little tweaks, that's fine with me too...if they changed it too much then it would no longer be Street Fighter.

Still that price seems way too high!

Even though many people love the Zero and SFIII games, I think Capcom realized the hearts of many gamers still reside with SFII.

Confusingly, Capcom has stated that SFIV will be a sequel to SFII and a prequel to SFIII.

Ah, so this game would be the "missing link". Ah ha ha ha. That's cool, but a bit late for some, who changed sides in the meantime (gone for other types of fighting games or gave up on the SF series, etc.). Hope Capcom can conquer their hearts again.
Otherwise than that, it almost makes you my neighbor... To be truthful, it's the first time in a little bit more than two years I've seen so much snow in one place.

For KoF XII: Hope those big, heavily refined sprites are of the actual size, not zoomed ones.
Sadly, I gave up on SNK since KoF 2002.
And I never believed in SNK Playmore.

If I'm not mistaken, the game will soom in when they get up close, Much like Guilty Gear or Art of Fighting back then.
KOF'02 was definite crap, but the one that came after (which I assume was KOF XI) turned out pretty good (Oswald's so cool!).
Give XII a chance.

Actually I just tried 2002... The last entry for Street Fighter I got is SF Zero 3 (again, yeah) and for KoF it is KoF '99...
I plan on buying SF Zero 3 MAX for PSP (and maybe GG Judgement) though.
Otherwise than that, I pretty much gave up on fighting games (if you don't count Soul Calibur II and Super Smash Bros. Melee for GC).

I remember back in the days of SF2, some kid had the SF2 arcade machine at his garage was like 'wow...'. But then now the machine's price is super high and all you have to do is wait until it's released on either Xbox360 or PS3 so no need to worry about forking up large sum of money to buy the arcade machine.

Eh? Given the insane number of SF games out there (including the "variations on the same theme" -remixes, remakes, etc.-), I'm surprised you never caught on any of them... Maybe it was not your game genre?
You should try one just for the kicks, however, it's like fine wine, you can't appreciate it fully unless you've been into it for long (please drink alcohol in moderation, by the way).
I could talk about Street Fighter all day long, but if you wish to try one of them, I can give you recommendations.
That and you should also try old-school 2D Fighting as well... Games from the pre-SNK-Playmore era (the old SNK was supreme for me), especially the Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown, Last Blade and of course the King of Fighters!!

I know its characters and stuff but for some reason I've never been able to play it. My Gamecube was my first console and my friends aren't into Beat 'em ups at all so I guess that could be the reason. I love to play Bloody Roar and Soul Calibur II on the GC so SF could please me too but I don't know if the Gamecube SF is worth the money :0

If you're talking about Capcom vs. SNK EO, it is worth the trouble. However, the GC controller is absolutely not practical for SF-style moves... Better buy a controller adapter first, to plug a PS2 controller in and enjoy it fully.
(unless you want to play with the microscopic directional pad).
This is why I never bought it... Sadly.

Can't wait until its release in August! I'm glad that they are going back to the original characters/theme. It was getting too awkward in Street Fighter III with those alien characters.

Anyone know Tomo Ohira? We were classmates in elementary school exchanging Famicom games and goign to Little Tokyo from time to time. Little did I know that as soon as Street Fighter II came out he would become world champion (I believe that he beat Japan's best at that time too) from the original Street Fighter II up until Hyper Fighting Edition.

I wonder where the hell he is now...maybe anticipating the release of SFIV too.
