Mu! Want to see! Been a fan of Thundercats since I was a wee lad. Too bad its just fan made. Which brings me to a question. Would you each donate a dollar to the person who made this trailer to make a full blown movie? And check out the 1985 anime version below. See how animation back then pwns most of this winters seasons anime in terms of animation quality. Original text from WiseFreeman below. For all the fans of Thundercats, this will definitely worth your time to watch this fan made trailer. Casts: Lion-O: Brad Pitt, Mel Gibson. Seem it last year on youtube.com , would watch it in the cinema if they make it. looks better then Dragonball Evolution and Chun-li movie.
yea, it's just 18 days ago with 1.22million hits~~~~~~~~~~~~
yeah~ it's damn better~ DB:Evolution $ Chun-li movie are epic fails~
THUNDERCATS! <3
HO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahaha I saw this on Attack of the Show. Tis great. The host, Kevin Pereira, said don't tempt Vin Diesel cuz he WILL make a Thundercats movie XD I don't recall seeing Mel Gibson in this though... Musta missed it.
LOL the Thundercats !
lol wow i remember when i used to watch the anime when i was little w/ my dad ^^; lol i guess imma have make him watch the movie XD
wow cool! thunder thunder thundercats, HOOO....!!
Thundercats are... Thundercats, Thundercats are us! Feel the roar, feel the magic, Thundercats are us!
sing along with you~~~~~~~~~
Thunder-Thunder-Thunder-Thundercats...!!!
Ah..the gold old days remember watching this on t.v all the time. Hopefully it'll look better than the DBZ movie =/
Whoa!!! Thundercats,i was watching that cartoon version 6 years ago...Remembering memories.
I'll definitely contribute more than a dollar to make this project come true~~~~~
I'm feeling all nostalgic.
this is the best fan made trailer I have ever seen. very nice
lulz... this is one awesome fake trailer... Hope to see a real movie of this old anime, i mean, cartoon...
would love a thundercats movie and would gladly donate a dollar. ^^ btw the animation looks like anime because the animation crew were Japanese: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088631/fullcredits#writers
The animator were indeed from Japan... from what i knew it was a combination of several studio that we know now as the one "Studio Ghibli" XD So that's how they learn to draw Totoro and that Cheshire bus-cat. lol.
I don't know why, but I'm suddenly reminded of the robo bears. ^^
in the op of the 1985 cartoon, lion-O's moves kinda meke me think of Cutie Honey
I suddenly feel VERY old =_______="
Totally feel the same my friend... hahahahaha.
I dont know, but it is not really my thing ^^ I mean, X-Man was cool and so on but "Cats" :/ Dont even know the anime.
same with me. never seen it before. ^^;;
as long as he sticks to the original storyline and plot...i'll invest in his movie project
omg...i hate snarf. Snarf is jar-jar binks father. And isnt that apc the apc from "aliens?"
yes it is, the apc thundertank. ^^;
Wow.... that is awesome!!! Loving the use of Chiana from Farscape.
Nekos fighting everywhere O_O I seen SOME episodes of thundercats but quit after discovering Transformers. Robots who transform into cars and tanks were more appealing to me than humanoid cats fighting to save the world against a mummy ^^;
Grew up after thundercats, but I gotta say that's some incredible editing. Wouldn't have been able tell it wasn't real if I wasn't told.
Saw the "trailer" at AOTS some days ago. Thought for a second that it was real LOL XD I only have vague memories about the series but what I do know was that I did watch it when I was a kid x_x
totally forgot about Mummra - would mind watch the anime series again someday
Wait, I swear I saw an article about a Thundercats movie a couple years ago in Newtype. Did that one not come out?
I believe it was said that a live action TC movie is indeed coming. Supposed to be about Lion-O's coming of age, or something like that.
totally awesome^^
One of my favorite cartoons of all time. That's actually a really good fan trailer. It just shows how much love there is for the property. It's probably better that Hollywood doesn't get its hands on Thundercats, though. Look at Dragonball and Chun-Li and you'll see why.
And in case anyone's interested, here's a custom Lion-O figure I'm working on, using the MOTUC King Greyskull as a base... http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/7541/kingsbk1.jpg
wow! please share with us your final work when u're done ^_^
Now if only they made a Silverhawks movie as well.
LOL I have the season 1 DVD collection and OMG how corny it was XD Still it might be visually appealing in live action ^_^
The movies/sources for the shots used is just inspired. Really crazy work there. I'd go see it!
I would like them to make better live action than the crappy generalized Hollywood style
I loved the Thundercats when I was younger. I remember spending weekday afternoons watching it with friends and then going out and mimicking Lion-O. I would glad contribute to the creation of this film, but if the original creator of this trailer were to use the same actors and actresses--it would cost an insane amount of money.
Yay for Thundercats! I'll definitely contribute. More than a dollar if necessary.
Haven't heard about Thundercats before. :goes to read the wiki entry:
To be fair, this 1985 opening is naturally higher quality than the rest of the half-hour episode. As a kid, I loved it! But when I tried watching again last year out of nostalgia, I couldn't finish 5 episodes, lol. I really tried. Nostaglic, true. But unexpectedly hard to watch again nowadays. Maybe I'll give it another shot. But if u haven't seen it since the 80's, maybe you'll think the same thing, hehe... >_<;
this is awesome!
Watching the trailer was so weird until I realized that they were painting over existing movie scenes. I was like "That guy has a very striking resemblance to Jackman's Wolverine....". Then I saw the Lion-o sword and shield clip and was like OHHhhhh!
That's pretty nicely done! ^^ Saw some of "Thundercats" when I was little. I gather a Thundercats movie could be good, especially if they strike a more serious tone mixed with action like in Spider-man or X-men.
Talk about nostalgia...got the theme song stuck in my head now, but awesome none the less.
I'd watch it for sure. I loved Thundercats as a kid.
Woa.. Blast from the past. If i remember correctly, i used to watch that show.
Thundercats was as i remember awesome. Had the cool lion-o toy with light-up eyes if i remember rightly, took it in the bath with me. Why do kids do such silly things?
No worries, now we have waterproof anime posters!
American cartoon producers are the worst lyric writers of the world.
This is too awesome. We NEED a Thundercats movie based on this.
Wouldn't donate money, but that was a really good editing. I was wondering why everything seemed familiar until I saw Vin Diesel.
OMG that trailer was freaking epic! Now all we need is a Mask trailer. No, I'm not talking abt the stupid green guy :P
I actually thought this was for realz -_-' good trailer though!
Seen this a while ago. That doesn't mean it isn't good. That's some mad, mad editing skills. I'd donate to see if he could manage to make a full movie out of that. It would be interesting to see how much he knows the story. Would he include the New Thundara characters in a movie? Certainly Lion-O's father should make a cameo. Anyhow, I always thought that the Thundercats were too campy to make into a movie, but then again, they did Speed Race a while back, so I guess anything could happen.
"See how animation back then pwns most of this winters seasons anime in terms of animation quality." That's the opening though.....
Looks good. Though it feels like a blend of dejavu...
New age is coming. computer geek Fan defeated a real-time director. LOL
Posted it some weeks ago on my blog... but I didn't have the actors and movies list! Thanks fot that!
omg, I forgot Thundercats was indeed and anime....that means I've been an otaku since I was 2 in 1985, not when I was introduced to DBZ in 1997....sweet ^_^
Honestly, I'm saving my money for a Gatchaman/Silverhawks cross-over. :3
OMG THAT TRAILER WAS AMAZINGINGLY WELL DONE!
Looked a lot more convincing than Dragon Ball or Chun-li
Really nice use of words and music I have to say - so moving it brings a tear to my eye ...
I'd drop a fiver for a Thundercats movie. No doubt.
In animation circles, this animated opening sequence is legendary! I think some of the key staff even went on to work as key staff for Studio Ghibli. So good...
Would totally watch that! I love that Vin Diesel is Panthro and the kids from the spy kids are the little ones. xD
The Garfield-Snarf seriously cracked me up, otherwise it looked really believable as a trailer XD
Boo! I want my M.A.S.K. movie! Hahaha!
Looks awesome if it was real. LOL i remember the anime how he wiggled the sword and it grew out, ahhh....Thinking back on it, mad dirty lol.
My god... Only if this were real!
amazing...it look like real thunder cat live action movie!!! i'm big fan of thunder cat, cant wait to see the movie release in future!! Another amazing live action movie [fake], which also i like is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0HP_UQGuMQQ&feature=related.. Fan make AMV always the BEST VID!!! XD
Brings back weird memories...Not sure if i will enjoy it again...
I saw Thundercats on DVD at a friend's place a few years ago and while I was really impressed at the quality of the intro sequence, which looks like it was farmed out to Japan, I have to say the in-episode animation quality, especially mid-season, did not fare the test of time so well. In fact it looked like it had been farmed out to a home for quadriplegic, blind, Parkinson's sufferers. Still, a nice 懐かしい trip down memory lane.
(blink) (blink) Vin Diesel as Panthro...That's all that was needed to get me on board!
alternate opening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6v0iLvjanY
Wow. Cool.. i would definitely watch this if its real.
