Am late in taking down the festive decorations. Done the tree in front of the house yesterday and done the lounge this evening. Wondering if you have figures displayed in common areas of your house (lounge, kitchen, toilet, bath) or are they all in your room?
No way, it's over. No reason to leave it up. It just feels weird at that point. Plus... with the new year I want to start thinking warmer thoughts... can't wait for spring! I dislike winter...
Took our stuff down in the middle of last week. Yet, if it was up to me, I'd leave it up all year. This way, all the decorations will already be up for when the holidays come around again.
Took our stuff down last week. However, if it were up to me, I'd just leave everything up. That way, I'm already done putting up decorations when the holidays come around again.
Now that's a lot of panchira shots ^^ All my collection are in my active zone only~~~~
Hey~ I didn't recognise you without your Lucky Star icon xD;;
LOL, that's Horror Star desu~~~~~
I still have my tree up, looks so pretty~ Btw Danny, your Shana Nendo fell down u_u~
Shes sleeping ^^;
lol!
My tree is still in the living room as well. It's not my job to pack it up. :)
@Danny lol, I guess that works xD; Yeah, I didn't put mine up, my dad and brother tackled that one, lol. I'm not sure when they'll put it away but they generally wait for 2 weeks into January to do so [I think, never paid attention xD;].
I have figures all over my house. Most of em are in the kitchen where my compy is located and some in my bedroom.
We took down our decorations last week to make room. As much as I would like to out figures in other places in the house other than my room, I don't have a big collection to do that. Also, my sister tends to break stuffs a lot so I prefer my figures in my room where it's mostly safe. BTW nice view from down here, Mr Danny! LOL XD
Nope only limited in my room ~_~
Same here. They will get no luve outside my room. -_-
Thinking of displaying my figurines all around inside the house but then decided not to, it would be annoying when it comes to cleaning. Besides, I have to purchase cabinets/shelves first for displaying all my figurines >.< since they all still inside their boxes. Btw Danny, is your wall shelves from Ikea? I could not find the wall brackets like yours and was thinking maybe only available on Japan. Really love your wall shelves..
Right now all my figures & all otaku stufff are inside the the room i dont want any random guess touch or break my prize poccesion's coz most of our guess if theyre gonna touch they intend to break Speacially those annoying kids Well any ways nice display shelves uve got(oysuminasai Nendo Shana)
if i had figs, YES they would be all around the house - but probably not approved
My girls are all sleeping in my room. XD I am living with my parents so i can't place my girls everywhere. Also, with 5 cats at home, do you think i dare to put them any place outside my room? Then again, if i have a house on my own, i don't think i will put them everywhere. Somehow, i enjoy seeing them all at one place. LOL~
Took the Christmas lights down today. The Christmas tree is still up and decorated though. Will have to fell it another day. Figures will never leave my room in house placement, they are controversial enough as it is.
yeah i have a special place to put them all !!
Don't have that much to have them ALL over the house ^^; They're all over the room though.
Limited to only my room.
I have my figures inside my room but if ever I have the chance, I'll place them in a glass case and I'll place the case at the living room =3
only put it in my room, if put it on the living room, my dad sure throw it away~
My collection is so small that it would be impossible for them to be all over my house and be noticible DX
If I had enough figures, they would be all over the house. I have no shame :) But since I do not have any figures yet, they are not in one room nor all over the house ;b
Very nice setup around your Wii. ^.^ Sadly, I haven't got action figures to keep me company all about the house, the people I live with would think I'm crazy. Happens oftenly when I'm alone though. ^____^
My collection is small, only 6 figures, that I keep in my room on a bottom shelf and still in their boxes so they don't collect dust. I don't display them which defeats the purpose of owning figures in the first place (>oo)> However, you can see my Max Factory Kasumi and GSC Sumomo Nendoroid - still in their boxes - if you look down at the shelf...since they're the ones that are in the front while the rest are stacked behind.
Right now, there are some round the house, only because I am home for the holidays lol. I'm late taking down my decorations too... my mini-tree is still up in my window lol.
My x'mas tree are long gone down. Now placing Chinese New Year decoration all over the house. Have a small collection of figures and planning to get more this year, all of them are in my own room.
I took the tree down but I leave my Xmas lights up since it lights up the house wonderfully. As for figures around the house, they'd collect a ton of dust of I leave em everywhere since I'm a person who's not used to cleaning/dusting down the place regularly ^^; so just one room is fine.
Well while my fiance is still in uni, I live at home, so for now my figures stay in my room. Once my fiance and I can get our own house though, I'll have figures mostly in the living room on shelves/cabinets, in the games room and wherever else I feel like putting them.
Mine are all in my room.
Me too, it's pretty weird to have them around the house especially when relatives visit.
Well its not really my house... so all my figures are kept in my room. If it were my house, perhaps I might freely place a few figures here and there but only those that I am willing to get damaged and in places where that hopefully doesn't happen. For that reason, kitchen and washroom is out...
I don't have anywhere near enough figures for my room, let alone the rest of the house. ^^; Not to mention I'm the only one into figures, and they wouldn't be appreciated very much.
Taste dictates that I keep such displays limited to certain places. Much as I like them, there are some places I don't want to see them.
All my figs are back in the box and are in a big closet. Till I find a good house they'll be like that for now.
hehe i have most figures in their boxes but i have a few out in my room o.o in the toilet? ...... umm i don't think much ppl have figures in the toilet xD
I live in a one room apartment. So while I don't put any figures into kitchen or bathroom, they're all over the rest of my apartment kinda due to necissity. Doesn't work any other way.
I feel your pain.... Damne effeciency living! Its a bitch getting enough storage room in general isnt it?
Indeed. I'm always rotating stuff around because I have no idea where to put it. Sigh.
Yeah, I know. In the past 2 months I've moved my Models, and my manga/ anime shelves 4 times!
mine are just in my room since I'm still with my parents, but whenever I decide to move out to my ow place I'll scatter them around the house.
I like this new comment button! Most collectors wouldn't consider spreading figure displays away from originally-designated areas until they're forced to, by running out of space ^^; As much as I would agree that placing appropriate figures at arbitrary places would be lulzy (Super Soniko in the kitchen, pooping Asuka on the toilet, for examples), you'd pretty much need everyone you know to be understanding and neither feel nor cause embarrassment. Maybe in 20 years, culture will be more accepting even for more tame ideas.
I just have them in my room but once I get my own place I'd probably put them in other places :P
Well since the house isn't MY house the figures are only in my room.
DAMN YOU! Danny, you have two figures I want! One being the Mikuru in her cosplay cafe outfit. The second being the Valkerie fighter you have stuffed of behind your tree thing! You need to take more photots of that fighter man. Give us Mecha junkies a fix!
Its meant to be bad luck if you dont take them all down by the 5th ^^ 12 days of christmas and all that..
I had a lot of 1/6th size ones on the VCR shelf in the front room. Got some house repair people coming over and humidity is high again here so I put them all up yesterday and that took about 3 1/2 hours back in the boxes. Some of the paint on the skirts never dried and putting them back together without the plastic left some paint stains on the underwear and hip area. /sigh. Learn something new every day.
Get your self some thinner.
I but my figure in my bedroom
I would feel sorry for a figure displayed in toilet XD
Only own a few macross valks which i display in my room, otherwise my friends will have there grubby mitts all over them and i get all worried that they might be damaged.
Yeah, I only own a couple of figures so keeping them in my room is no problem though I'm pretty sure that's where I'd keep them anyways.
Unfortunately, the majority of my figures are packed away since I have very little space to properly display them. Not that it will stop me from buying more (Must...get...nendoroid...Konata Miku...)
All of my figures are in my Room. I don't want to run the risk of others touching them.
this year we kept it minimalistic, just display cards from friends/family on our fireplace, an a doll size tree (yes U heard me) lol no socks etc :P we got ourselves presents we like already so :3. Figures and toys remain in our "home office" Leaving them out is just asking for them to be touched and manybe damaged by visitors ^^;
I have two rooms with figures. Everyone that comes in already knows not to touch them. lol. Although the cleaning takes time but worth it to see them displayed.
How I wish they were all over my house... there are not enough figures to be all over the house. xD Oh, I see Merissa.. I'm having trouble setting up her stand.
In my new apartment, I'm displaying my latest figures in a glass case so all can see. Heres a pic: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EasdbXFHZjA/SV_ID_YRQTI/AAAAAAAAAv8/NiURyVG0-Bc/s1600-h/DSC_0052.JPG So far its kinda bare, but that will change soon!
Looks like Shana had an accident and fell.
I will take down decorations this weekend. We usually leave decorations up until the end of the first week anyways... Yes, figures are found in a few places about the house. My wife and I have a small table near the entrance for seasonal displays. Usually figures can be found there depending on the time of year.
Can't have them everywhere, unfortunately, I have roomates. However, me and one of my roomates seem to be in a contest to see who has the most figures. He seems to have more, but I think mine should count for more since I have more normal size figures and he is beating me with legions of trading figures.
I used to have my gunpla outside, but I shifted them into my room when to colection ballooned suddenly this year; the small space I used to have just wasn't enough. That and it was a safety measure against potential "little tyke" incidents. XD
I don't think my family would appreciate me placing "dolls" throughout the house and I'm afraid that they'll get damaged or thrown out if my figures are out of my room so they all stay inside.
Well all of my figures are in my room, but there are some that I still have not put out yet...dang I wish I had more space...
kagami really is high up there..
All of my figures are in my room as I know guests/others will give me the weird look if they saw it. Don't mind them being spotted in my room by guests/others though. Too much people in the US are so against it.
Actually, none of my figures are in my room since I'll only have a room in a few weeks... I've been camping in the living-room and displaying them there as well as in the kitchen. Even though most of them will end up in my room, I'll still leave a couple here and there since family members think it cheers the place up. :) As for decorations, I'm not taking them down until I've eaten some King cake (although I'm already a day late for that...).
lol nuuuuu, shana has fallen!!!
I want but my parents won't let me
Only in my room, would'nt want to embarrass my parents with my half naked bishojo figures...
Almost all of my stuff is in my room, save for one. A fully built and painted 1/35 Trumpeter Leopold. It's about a meter long so it's an interesting display even if you're not into scale models.
only got them in the living room so far, but might move them to other parts of the house in the future
I haven't massed enough figs in my collection to put them in every room. Yet.
thats nice
Do not own enough figures to place them all around the house. But its not like my parents would approve of it anyways.
If I lived on my own, they'd be ALL OVER the place.
There's one nendoroid in the living room, my mum bought it for herself (it's haruhi). My figures are all in my room, but I want one to put next to my screen at work too ;p
If I display every of my figures out in the open... it'll kill me to clean them of the layers of demeaning dust. My room is that dusty >.<
i have them only in my room my parents hate that i collect figures they think its another phase like digimon or pokemon
dollfie i want one of those problem is i don't know which to choose
If I move out and have my own house then maybe... ^^; Really need those figure wall display stands though.. D:
well...my toys are scattered wherever i can find a bookcase/display case :) some are in the living room, in my brother's room and rest are in my bookcase which is on our 2nd floor landing XD
Unfortunataly, I do not have figures all over the place, since I do not have my own place. When I do; I have some serious plans for figures being part of my decor.
there is no reason to leave the decs up unless u want bad luck for the year!
also i keep the figures in my room where it is safe from harm, might get a display case or some shelves or sumthing for displayment purposes.
all my figures are in my room. Might move some around the house but not sure what my parents would think xd
