Washinomiya Shrine

(Figures(42)
Thu 2009/01/01 23:23
While many Japanese spent new years day at home, many otaku flocked to Washinomiya Shrine which has become a haven for Lucky Star fans.
Akibahobby has more pics taken today of the Lucky Star festivities that went on today and shows us the limited edition Nendoroid Puchi - the girls in orange Miko gear.

One cant buy the whole set and need to pay 500 yen to play Omikuji - a Japanese tradition where one sticks their hand in a box and grabs (in this case) a ball that contains the Nendoroid.

Akibahobby writes about how he first ended up with 3 Konata's in his first 4 tries ^^;
They also had Itachari, Lucky Star newspapers and choco cones.

So lucky. I was afraid of not enough trains that day to make it back. Plus Washinomiya Shrine is about 2 1/2 hours from Yokosuka.

You must be really lucky or konata was over-produced. Guess you can trade her for the other characters with the person who drew Kagami 4 times in a row....

Funny, but also worse idea ...
Play a game and not even have good chances to get the whole set, but get one figure 4-5 times ?
Ok, trade with another people is possible and necessary, but i don't think this was a good idea for exklusive figures.

My desire to be there cannot be matched... I wanna go!!! I would die to try one of the Choco Cornets.

But seriously, I really hope the the place will remain as a LS paradise till I manage to make a pilgrimage there.

Also, any more info about the Kagamiku Nendoroid? Saw the advert below the sign. Won't be an exclusive right?

500 yen for one try? I'd go for it! Except I would stop after one... is it me? Or do the colours look off? Or is it just the photograph?

aw that would have been awesome, wonder what they'll do next year. 500 yen isn't bad at all, I'm sure people will be selling them for 5x the price they paid for them on ebay soon enough.

If only a Figure company where to do the same for the U.S. It'll have to be in a convention. Have the room set up like if you are in a shrine and for a fee you get to play omikuji. For an exclusive figure. I think it'll be a big hit.

I was also there on the 31th.
I only bought 4 Puchi and I got a full set, so I was very lucky, I guess.
While I was in the Lucky Star Cafe I think I saw Kirai there, too.
The only bad thing is there was no trains to return and I waited in the very, very cold station until 5:30...
