While many Japanese spent new years day at home, many otaku flocked to Washinomiya Shrine which has become a haven for Lucky Star fans. Akibahobby has more pics taken today of the Lucky Star festivities that went on today and shows us the limited edition Nendoroid Puchi - the girls in orange Miko gear. One cant buy the whole set and need to pay 500 yen to play Omikuji - a Japanese tradition where one sticks their hand in a box and grabs (in this case) a ball that contains the Nendoroid. Akibahobby writes about how he first ended up with 3 Konata's in his first 4 tries ^^; They also had Itachari, Lucky Star newspapers and choco cones.
WOW! You got this limited edition LS nendo set?! SAFS banzai! That's what I call a New Year gift ^_^
"lucky for me that they just appeared on my door step ^^;" WHY YOU, LITTLE.... "choke danny"
I wanna choke him too! (^o^)/
Me too ^^
me three XD
me four! O.o
awwww Japan exclusive again ;_;
Right^^;
I WAS THERE! Never expected it to be that crowded. I'll post up an article on it soon.
So lucky!
So lucky. I was afraid of not enough trains that day to make it back. Plus Washinomiya Shrine is about 2 1/2 hours from Yokosuka.
Wow even with bullet trains, eh? You can always stay for the first sunrise of the year :)
Must we stick our hand into the box? Can't we just take the whole box?
Oh oh and I prefer the original miko gear. Red ^^ Whats this u guys talking about? Its a poster and Danny didn't specify that he got this.. o.o Though he most prolly had it teleported to his doorstep ^^;
I also agree with red - orange is just... strange GAH THAT DANNY it would be funny if you reached in and grabbed out a LS themed tenga or something
Yet another japan exclusive. Lucky Danny.
You must be really lucky or konata was over-produced. Guess you can trade her for the other characters with the person who drew Kagami 4 times in a row....
Funny, but also worse idea ... Play a game and not even have good chances to get the whole set, but get one figure 4-5 times ? Ok, trade with another people is possible and necessary, but i don't think this was a good idea for exklusive figures.
My desire to be there cannot be matched... I wanna go!!! I would die to try one of the Choco Cornets. But seriously, I really hope the the place will remain as a LS paradise till I manage to make a pilgrimage there. Also, any more info about the Kagamiku Nendoroid? Saw the advert below the sign. Won't be an exclusive right?
I hope not!The Kagamiku nendoroid is so cute!!
Holy crap, a Kagamiku Nendroid??? That may just be my first Nendoroid purchase...provided it's not exclusive. :X
A destination for my honey-moon trip to Japan for sure ^_^
500 yen for one try? I'd go for it! Except I would stop after one... is it me? Or do the colours look off? Or is it just the photograph?
aw that would have been awesome, wonder what they'll do next year. 500 yen isn't bad at all, I'm sure people will be selling them for 5x the price they paid for them on ebay soon enough.
If only a Figure company where to do the same for the U.S. It'll have to be in a convention. Have the room set up like if you are in a shrine and for a fee you get to play omikuji. For an exclusive figure. I think it'll be a big hit.
i am gonna assume you need to pay some kinda fee before sticking your hand in? i don't mind holding onto those two extra konata he has though ^^
Very Nice, Happy New Year!
Waa lucky! I wanna go there some year.. that sounds like so much fun!
wow.... holy crap... isn't it getting a little out of hand..
I'm sure you could trade with other people who can't seem to get the ones they need.
That looks like epic amounts of fun!! I think I'd like to try a more traditional shrine trip before a Lucky Star themed one though.
Its amazing how an anime made a place famous
think he'll sell them, I wouldn't mind buying them.
<insert "only in Japan" joke here>
If only I was there.
That's a fun way to start the new year...wish I had it here rather than watch the rose parade...
Nice way to get a figure for New Year's... Oh wait I did buy a couple of New Year figures today. They had a Buy One Get One Free toy sale at the comic book store. Got myself a Christmas Light Yagami Nendoroid and Final Fantasy XII Ashe Play Arts figure ^_^
I was also there on the 31th. I only bought 4 Puchi and I got a full set, so I was very lucky, I guess. While I was in the Lucky Star Cafe I think I saw Kirai there, too. The only bad thing is there was no trains to return and I waited in the very, very cold station until 5:30...
i was there today, but got only two nendoroids, konata and kagami... maybe go tomorrow again and try to get the full set.
> 3 Konata's in his first 4 tries I am guessing there are more Konatas there than others.
ordered the set :p cant wait to get them in my hands
that sound like FUN!
