Akiha Tohno

Akiha Tohno
Akiba Hobby has his review up of Akiha Tohno from the Melty Blood series.
Well made figure but she kinda has a sinister look. Nice pantsu though. Never seen the anime - recommended?

So you do cut faces out for good reasons. This leads to my impression she has a face that implies certain evilness...
Good looking figure and nice pantsu though.

I think not seeing the face is helping.. thats usually where the figure maker fails. Also.. "Melty Blood".... thats like saying:

下痢のトラ

Seriously, now I am going to go make this manga and sell it over here.

Ok, here it goes

Melty Blood is a 2D fighting game which is made base on the visual novel "Tsukihime" of Type-Moon

Melty Blood has 3 version:

1/ Melty Blood
2/ Melty Blood reAct
3/ Melty Blood Act Cadenza

The story of Melty Blood is actually a sequel of the visual novel Tsuhikihime.

BY THE WAY, the anime Tsukihime DOESN'T EXIST. And anyone who says otherwise is a blatant liar.

So, if you want to understand more about Melty Blood, go and play Tsukihime. It's just one of the best visual novels one can lay one's hands on. :)

By the way, both Tsukihime and Fate/stay night are written by Kinoko Nasu. You might hear his name along with the Kara no Kyoukai movie.

Well there was a Tsuikihime anime, but I'd avoid that like the plague if I were you.

Akiha is originally from Type-Moon's doujin visual novel game series Tsukihime and there is an anime version of it. Story and action is rather mediocre so I don't really suggest watching it. However, manga version of Tsukihime is pretty good so you can check it out when you get a chance. There's manga version of Melty Blood series as well but compared to Tsukihime, Melty Blood manga itself is little funky IMO.

One can play the doujin game to know the full story behind the series but due to the huge popularity of Type-Moon nowadays, doujin game of Tsukihime are super expensive, cost around 8-10,000yen at place like Toranoana >_

Thanks Akiba-Kid... I was wondering if I would watch Tsukihime one day (it would not be one on top of my watchlist anyway) because of Fate/Stay Night, but since you and other commenters said it wasn't much the trouble... And lots of gore as early as first episode didn't help at all.
Got lots of catching up to do already anyway. ^^

Well, never really liked Akiha, I prefer Arcueid (which I already own a figure of) and Ciel. As far as the anime Tsukihime goes, I thought it was pretty good, but many fans thought it was lackluster. TYPE-MOON animes are generally good though, ie. Fate Stay Night, so it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Finally I leave you with this link

On average the figure looks decent however is it me or does the sinister looking smile just not fit Akiha? I think it would be much better if it were her kurenai form, with maybe a few drops of blood dripping from the side of her mouth or something. I still prefer Satsuki and Kohaku to Akiha anyway.
Anyways in terms of the anime, it is at best mediocre. In fact most of Type-Moon animes are, especially when compared to with their manga and novel counterparts, with the exception of Garden of Sinners, which I heard was quite good. The Tsukihime visual novel is totally epic in my opinion, quite possibly my favorite novel of all time, (yeah yeah. I know I'm a fanboy) however it is quite hard to find a legal copy, especially due to the insane prices people sell it at.

Lunar Legend Tsukihime - Manga: Good
Melty Blood (Latest being Act Cadenza and soon to come out Actress again) - Fighting Game: Good
Tsukihime - Visual Novel: Good if you're in to VNs
Tsukihime - Anime: Bad

My opinion at least.

Tsukihime anime? I've never heard of such a thing.

But you should get Tsukihime visual novel if you get a chance. Tsukihime sold me to visual novel and was the first eroge I played and felt it would be worth to buy(Except 100+$ might be a little more then I'm willing to pay for any game >

A part of my comment was cut.

I think the Akiha figure look alright but not good enought for me to buy it. I'll wait for a better one to get. Also, Twin Maids FTW(I need to get an Hisui and Kohaku figure)!

I don't know why everyone is saying the anime is crap. Its not great, but there are far worse.

Out of the tsukihime girls, I think Akiha is my favorite. Something about her face looks weird though, I think its her eyes.

I thought this figure was pretty decent. Am now very much thinking of buying it...

And in my opinion, the Tsukihime anime wasn't too bad, but that's probably because I watched it before I played the game. After that the difference becomes clear. Also, Melty Blood its itself a great game of awesomeness. Definitely one of my favourite 2D fighters.

The anime was quite good but a little slow sometimes... Never played the game but downloaded the characters in MUGEN, got Shiki and the two maids but couldn't find Arcueid anywhere...
