2008 Expenditure

(Otaku(9)

With every purchase I make throughout the year, I make sure to record how much I paid for the item and how much shipping I paid as well. At the end of the year I count it all up to see how much I spent exactly and this is the result for 2008. The grand total for imports comes to ¥201,678.

For a more detailed report on the graph, as well as reports on local expenditure, check it out on my blog.

What is your overall expenditure like for 2008?

lol that's a lot of dedication for such a depressing topic ^^; I won't dare to do that but probably this year about 40% of that.

Nice! I also would never keep track of how much I spend as it would be quite horrifying indeed. My graph would probably be yours + 20 or 30% at least.

I'm cheap... Mine will probably stay low around $300-$500 Mainly because I think twice before buying something and thinking to myself...do I really need this...

It's actually good to keep track of where you money go and if you add expenses when you have them, it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Sadly my graph is below your shipping costs (on average at least). I'm really looking forward to getting a real job because right now I don't have an income at all D:

I sort of knew this could happen so I saved up and right now I'm living on my savings and I can finish uni on those if I just keep away from too many unessential expenses. It takes a bit of disipline but it looks like I can get through uni and get a master degree completely without borrowing any money.

I do this with all the receipts I get. I run a pivot table on them. Interesting facts: Food expenditure -- 73%. Overall food venue frequency, Subways -- 87%. Figures and toys: < 1%. I guess I'm not spending my money in the right place. =/

good idea on the tracking. i'm going to implement it for myself. allows me to have a grasp of whether i'm going overboard.

and Adun, you're really insanely otaku, haha!!! *salutes*

this is actually a really good thing to do... I always wonder how much I have bought, and this way, I can actually show my parents that they are the one's sucking my money (well, I pay rent and loans to my mother), and not me spending on stuff like gunpla

My overall expenditure since July : 102,607 Yen
I didn't keep track of shipping.

It's a pretty interesting idea keeping track of the cost of your hobby/hobbies.
