Actually watched all of the vid apart from the credits ^^; One of the more interesting Mac vs PC vids.
A million views on YouTube and over 6000 comments  - most of it being "Macs are shit" and "PCs are shit" ^^;

Original text from hikky below.
The fight goes into the next round:
Love the message on the PC at the end of the clip ^_^ Found it via the otaku.fm RSS-feed @ariaanime

whilst upgrading to xp made the robot 'run' slightly faster, the pc transformer subsequently failed to dodge the mac shurikens because the avoidance manuvuers code weren't preloaded into memory in win xp. :p

This video is so cool~~
I use Mac @ work and work with PC @ home.
I guess I'm just not used to what you could do and could not do on mac.
But I would agree it's easy to use (regular daily usage) and less problematic then PC.
But if you ask me what is going to be my next machine, it would be PC for sure....
saber_kite in Manila, Philippines (Registered on 2008/09/22 12:27)
I'm the opposite: PC @ work, Mac @ home (but I've got a PC too) so the debate on which is better is pretty much null for me. Both have their pros & cons, so if I need something that the other can't give, I just usually move computers hehe.

I agree. I mainly use mac but when I needed a notebook I decided on getting one with windows because it would solve the specific task that I got it for and I would get the ability to use both OSes. Today I use only a mac, but it can dualboot into windows since it's an intel mac. To put it simple: OSX has a better OS while windows has quite a lot of windows only software that I'm interested in. At least that's how I see it.

There really is no "best" solution since even the best OS is worthless if it can't execute the software you need ^^

Trust me... Don't call anything from Apple stupid in front of a guy that used Apple since the Apple II days. ^^;;

Joke it was a joke. ^^ I too have been around since the Apple II days. I also remember when Microsoft was headquartered in an industrial park and their ads where found in the back of CP/M Journals. All joking aside Apple is not without its own failures... It is a good thing Steve Jobs returned and cleaned house.

I have seen it and I think it's a silly commercial. Neither Apple or Microsoft cares enough for me to put those commercials on channels I can see though. To be honest I think Microsoft is behaving a bit childish by making such a commercial but I'm not sure what they should do instead.

I just wish people wouldn't cosplay bad commercials >.<

Ah well. I'm glad there's actually some sort of marketing campaign now. Apple has been beating up MS for so long that it's become one big joke. Of course, no one goes after Apple's ads because they're considered golden...

I just know one of the iPhone ads was pulled because it was largely misleading about how quick the phone and applications on it ran.

I was waiting for the blue screen of death but it failed to show up.

I once broke windows 98. It made a blue screen of death if I clicked on start or "my computer" and it did so every single time. Well I didn't break it... it did it on it's own. I installed 2 or 3 games and it wasn't used for anything else and it was always offline. All of a sudden it was quite dead.

Huh. Very nice mech design, actually - love the PC one particularly.

I'm also rather impressed with how evenly they spread the...power? Victory? :P It's not all that biased, as these things usually are. You've got a Macbook that loses due the PC, who then gets owned by more Macs, but the creepy foreshadowing pretty much guarantees that those Macs are doomed.

I don't know if Mac is over-priced, i don't care either, but around here Mac product ownership is just a fad. iPod owners have gotten annoying to the point where they brag about owning an iPod. iPod Touch doesn't help either. iPod touch owners have bashed me for owning a PSP and implying that it's for 'kids' when that's not even the case.

Naw another Mac user propaganda. Obviously the maker gives a hatred about PC. If they don't give a comeback for the PC, then rating the video is inappropriate. That's how low the PC looks like after great services it gave? -.-

Numbers isn't everything. Just look at the war between the Zulus and the British Empire. The Zulus had the numbers and managed to overrun the British even though the British had guns.... then the British invested in machine guns and then they presumed that one man with a gun could beat 1000 Zulu warriors with spears.

But sometimes you can't win against a enemy that outnumbers you. For example WW2: The superior German technology wasn't enough to stop the Allied Forces because of their weight of numbers.

PC's- Easy to use interface. Built for gaming mainly. Uses windows.Fairly cheap

Mac's- Business oriented. Takes a while to know what does what. Less compatibility with software/home brews. EXPENSIVE!!!

... Judging by what I do with my computer I'll stick with the PC.

Actually mac is the one with the easy to use interface and I'm getting tired of hearing the expensive claim as they really aren't that expensive when you look at performance.

I'm not going to go into it in detail, but if you build your own PC's from scratch, Apples really are that much more expensive.

Personally, I liked the maturity of the PC owner. Because she bad mouths him for paying so much for a Mac, and she paid so little for her PC.

And to be honest, I wonder if she would do the same with cars. Because she seems the type that would buy a VW Rabbit with the engine and other parts put in by a different company, and she had stuff she did not want or need. And that guy bought a new Toyota Prius, with everything put in by Toyota. X3

Agh it's organic Transformers >_< I guess it was pretty good still. I like how they used the Apple as a weapon ^^

I use mostly Macs at work, but a mix of both and stick with PC at home. It's really about the price. Much cheaper PCs, and my friend has a Mac but his OS is outdated, so to me that would be expensive to upgrade Macs too... So yeah, sticking with PCs for now until Apple can be more affordable.

That was pretty cool although I had thought that it was going to put in some of the problems with both systems when they were doing it. What I find annoying though is that the Apple commercials bash Microsoft about the money spent advertising when I've only seen one microsoft commercial compared to the many Apple ones.

Apple is full of hypocrites. 'nuff said. That's what happens when you let Jobs run things instead of the Woz.

that's a really good question. I guess it would make the virtual machine transform into a transformer but since it's only software it wouldn't actually be able to do anything. It would just be software controlling a robot that's not real.

Btw this is one of the good parts of virtulization. If it's controlled correctly you can mess up the virtual system with virus and stuff without affecting the real OS.

I haven't had a single mac virus since I switched to OSX. I did have one in MacOS 8.1 or 8.5 though. There aren't any *known* mean mac viruses that attacks OSX at the moment. There are a few who tries to convince the user to give them the root password, but that's more like a trojan horse. Also I read that so far they have only been seen on 3D ecchi pages of unknown origin. People should be stupid to give root passwords to something like that :P

While it's somewhat safe without antivirus right now (if you keep the root password to yourself), you never know what will happen tomorrow. The one virus I had almost slipped in unnoticed because I was told back then that macs don't get viruses (I found it because I noticed a strange file in the system that I thought shouldn't be there).

Somehow I think of mac virus like the tale of the racing rabbit and the turtle. The rabbit is so sure that everything will work out because it's so easy for it that it forgets that it's not 100% sure of winning and by accident lets the turtle win the race because it didn't pay attention.

Not sure how the permissions are laid out on OSX, but I would reckon that if an exploit appeared in a process running under superuser, whether you're on a Mac or a PC won't matter. If Apple continues to lure users into a false sense of security, then they are setting themselves up for a major screw up. Imagine if an exploit appeared in Apple's login daemon (which probably runs under some privileged user). A bunch of ignorant Mac users are going to be wondering why their ISP is serving them notices for serving copyrighted content, while they are loyal iTunes users. You're right. It's only a matter of time.

Very nice!
Seen so many good "transformer" amateur videos recently... and they are not easy to make.

Only thing that ruins the mood on those videos are, like Danny wrote, the fanboys.

It's also kinda sad how many people watch those videos that are obviously a joke, and interpret as absolute truth many things they see.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I find it funny jokes about bsods, viruses, bugs, and "downgrading to Vista"... but it's turning into bias and misconception unfortunately.

I'm kinda tired of seeing people criticizing Windows... specially Vista... without even trying it.

I've even seen some people accusing Vista users that had good experiences (like myself) saying that we're lying, or "hired by Microsoft" or crap like that.

I mean, I know lots of people will have horrible Vista experiences... I had it too before sp1.
But you know, there are lots of softwares, oss, and hardware that are absolute crap at first, but eventually became good (like some gaming consoles).

It's kinda sad how tons of people won't even give Vista another try just because of what they "heard" about it, or because of jokes and YouTube videos.

Because I have to say, even though my first experience was horrible, my current experience so far (about a couple of months) is proving to be even smoother than XP.

And considering I never had a single problem with XP since sp2, that's a lot... some games are running faster, and I love soome details on the interface... search tool, image previews, etc.

Oh, and I'm running it on a laptop, before someone comes out to say I probably have a very powerful computer...

That's amazing.

LOL at Mac dropping its "balls".

And the failsafe screen at the end with the "PCs TRANSFORM" is simply priceless. Though I too was expecting the Blue Screen of Death (TM).

OTOH, that failsafe screen reminded me a lot of Terminator, which leads me to wonder how cool (or awful) it would be if there was a video featuring various Terminator series that ran on Windows and Mac OS and fought each other. (There's already a cool parody video of Matrix being run on Windows. )
