"L Change The World" is a spin off movie from Death Note which is about "the last 23 days." Folks in Japan can watch this at cinemas from tomorrow. Short documentary and trailer below. Photo of poster taken at Shibuya station. I quite enjoyed the movie versions of Death Note but hear that some people didn't really like it. Some pics from the premier at Mainichi. Also stars Mayuko Fukuda (premier pic) who's quite sweet.
Definetley not the "L word" I was thinking about....! haha
LOL! L Word byahh!
wow, this is great! ( LOL , big L fan) thanks danny
awesome, will watch it when i get a chance as i've already seen the first two. i don't think the death note films have been released in north america, i could be wrong though.
We have to wait 13-15 more days here... Are you going to be watching the movie Danny?
L is one of the best characters from Death Note. He's better then Light.
I like Light. Sadly he died in such a lame manner... =S As for L...wasn't much of s supporter...but after reading vol 13...disliked him even more... =P
I support Light too. In fact, I support his justice :P The higher ups in the world are misusing their power. And Light's there to help keep control.
Yeah, 'cause killing and violence is always a good solution, and killing innocent people and manipulating people's feelings is my idea of Justice. I hate how Kira fans try to ignore the fact that he killed innocent people and how he manipulates people who trust him to his own advantage.
But isn't Big Boss also responsible for the lives of many people??? Lol. Just kidding. Anyway, yeah, Although I really like Light's character he was nothing but a pathetic killer who believe he was God and had the right to take the life of anyone he desired. Which is NOT in the right of human beings to do so. Sure the way he died was pathetic, desperate, delusional. But he got exactly what he deserved by the end, and justice prevailed. Ultimately though, I felt very sorry for him.
Yeah...it's sad for any Light/KIRA's supporters that he had indeed strayed in his path towards building an utopia-of-sorts. However, I wouldn't call him a heartless murderer, but a person who had become too proud for his own good. He had always been responsible for his family, ensuring them a place in the new world he's trying to build. Yes, even his father. (The movie's Light is a heartless depiction) If you have read Vol.13, L actually treats no one as a person, just a tool for him to get to his goals. Well, except Watari, his only friend.
I like Light purely because of his evilness. BWAHAHAHA. And he doesn't hesitate. That's one of the best things I liked about him as a villain. XD
@ MavericK: Even his dad? I'm not completely sure about that. I know he loved him and all, but at the time of his death all Light could think about was getting Mello's name. Was it Mello? (Can't really remember) Regardless, when I read the scene, I saw Light as someone had completely lost himself and his emotions for his father. He even tried to use his Father's name to save himself in the end, I think.
Yes, in the manga, Light was indeed more concerned about getting Mello's real name written name in the Death Note. However, when his father passed away, he did cry because of his death, not because of his failure to get Mello. And so, from then on, he sees Mello as the person who killed his father too. Like I said, the Light in the movies is just a heartless bastard. Thus I didn't really enjoy the movies as much as I had with the manga. :)
I've read the manga. I own it actually. Don't remember him crying about his dad's death though. I'll check it out.
Crying, as in agonizing over his death. Can't really remember if he did have tears or not. =P
I've watched the series, read the manga, and watched the two live-action movies. Can't wait for this one!
ohhhh interesting :-) on the watch list. It won't come out here in usa probably. Maybe on DVDs. I'm looking forward to it.
Deathnote was good before the hordes of fanbois/fangurls raeped it and hordes of L cosplayers arrived >.>
The same could be said about just about every popular anime/manga series. And I'm talking stateside here. I don't know about in other countries, but whenever stuff gets introduced here it all gets homogenized and the culture sucked out of it a lot of the time. So things that are originally enjoyable get mass marketed in a bad, ridiculous sorta way and before ya know it, you have 600 pound fat kids cosplaying as Naruto, legions of fangirls that think that Fullmetal Alchemist was only an anime and sport their messenger bag with their Invader Zim keychains and patches, and scads of little alterna-teens that think Bleach was just made this year.
hmm~ Just cant wait to watch it~ Although I prefer the comic version~
I want to watch that movie if they use some english actor and actress..one)watch this movie and two)play it on my nds using a R4...T.Y
play the game or the movie?
I quite liked the movie version of the Death Note, where L actually have last face-off with Light, unlike the manga version. I'm interested in seeing the new movie as well and curious what's the story is about, which will be sometime from now ^^;
L is L33t. ('~')
Is it just me or is it odd that a Japanese movie has a guy flashing an FBI badge?
Yep, I've heard from people that the movie wasn't that too great... Although many people that haven't read or watched Death Note thought it was great. L
I like Kira better.'~' Wish he had the chance to kill more. ~(>^o^)>*sinister giggle*
The first Death Note movie was good, the second.. maybe not so, but it was okay. I think it was a little too much to squeeze into two movies, though. I'm more of a Light fan, but I'll watch this movie anyway~
I'm one of those who don't really like Death Note the Movie. ^^ My main reason is that the vibe light gives in the manga is waaaaay too different from the vibe light in the movie version gives.. I just can't feel the feeling, "Ah this is truly light yagami" >_
I haven't watched Death Note movies yet, though I should. But somehow I don't like the idea that they changed the story of the original manga which I like a lot.
Woo! Just watched the movie. I just found out it was showing in HK, while I was visiting relatives. Apparently the theater in HK. Has an "L" combo and it comes with a "L Change The World Popcorn bag and a cool L rubiks cube.
Finally! A movie to look forward too! L the REAL hero of D.N.
all i want to know is the real name of L
His real name is L Lawliet
eru lawliet no offence L lover
Should be looking forward to this. The two Death Note films were pretty good in my opinion (the first was great, the second a bit less so) so this should be interesting... I'm personally more of a Light person, what with his evil gazes and remarks. His death wasn't the most dignified, but I felt it suited the story. Just some random opinion there...
theres been 2 films??? OMG!!! i gotta find them! id watch this on if it was released in the UK with eng dub or subs
I'd definitely like to watch this and the coming "L" series, in english. To me "L" is a good character that depicts the genius good guys, heroes with brains making this world a better place to live in for the average Joes. Eccentric, purely talented and well intented...La creme de la creme...
Eh...L isn't exactly the saint you have in mind. :) He respects no one but himself...treating everyone as steeping stones to get to his targets.
@Maverick: Isn't that Kira you are talking about? Ok, maybe L cares a lot about the challenges that solving a case might present but it doesn't matter, 'cause he doesn't kill anyone, in fact he puts criminals behind bars.
Haha...maybe, but should really give Vol.13 a read, the full profile about L is explained in it...even his nationality is explained. From what I read, L is in no way better than Light. It's just that they have different opinions about the same topics. Well, there's no way to determine who's right and wrong. Everyone's idea of justice is different. :)
i just killed former president of indonesia in 26 january 2007, with this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soeharto the proof: check the hendrik poster, that's me, look at the date http://www.dannychoo.com/fauna_detail/eng/1155/Bee+Cheng+Hiang/ anybody considered me a shini/kigami yet?
Ugghh, while i liked some of the film version of death note, it seemed very cheesy, like its the Japanese equivalent of all these disaster movies made for tv or bad sci fi films made for tv.
Am I the only one who think this movie will be major crap? :) L is not worth enough to be in another movie :D
Feels like it will not change or reveal anything in the main story. Pretty much like a story of its own.
i wonder when theyre gonna released it on DVD i cant wait!!!
