Got a copy of Super Smash Brothers and cant play it?
Well you are not alone - Nintendo has received a ton of queries about the same problem and issued an official statement yesterday about the recently released game on the Nintendo site.
They want you to send them your Wii machine and Smash Brothers disc so they they can clean the lens reader which is "full of dust and cigarette ash."
Nintendo say that the double layer disc is susceptible to dirty lenses.
In this case you say the commonly used "Mendo Kusai" [面倒くさい] which you will have heard many times in Anime. It is said when something is troublesome/bothersorme/boring to do.
If you are in the middle of doing something and somebody asks you to go to the grocery store to get some milk, you say "Mendo Kusai Yo!".

There is a lot of buzz about the game in the Japanese otakusphere - what is it about this game?

Yea, but Mewtwo was lowest tier. fun though.

It's okay, they pretty much made Lucario a buffed version of Mewtwo from the videos I've seen.

Can't wait to play it when it ships here in the States.

Mendo Kusai indeed.
But on the otherside, there is this continent called Europe fearing that smash bros might be delayed a complete year...

Can't you guys just play the American version? It's both rather similar English right or do you guys have to deal with more censorship?

I wonder how playing SSB with the Wiimote feels like, I hope they did'nt ruin the feeling. I'm glad that Shiek made it into the game btw. Gooo Shiek!

you can use the gamecube controller or classic.

But I played the game in wiimote during E for All convention it was downright horrible!
DUDE! The grab button is - WTF? A was a closer button to any of my fingers and its a useless button: taunt.
Hopefully you can configure it though, but that doesnt take away how awkward it is for you to press the trigger button for shield/block

They did include old R.O.B.? WOW!!
No, otherwise than that I don't seem too appealed by it from what I can see in the video... Except I'd love to play as Ike from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Link and Zelda from Twilight Princess and Meta Knight. Yeah, I'm a complete fan of medieval weapons, partially hence my nick.
Btw, does Nintendo give you freebies for the trouble?

If the disc is susceptible to dirt why are they cleaning the lens instead of the disc?
I hope that I won't have the same problem.... won't know what to do cos my wii has an 'open source' chip

Nothing wring with the disc - the lens has to be cleaned before it can read the disc...

If you had it chipped you might as well open it yourself and clean it with airspray or by the person who chipped it for you. I'm sure if won't remain chipped if you send it away.

I don't plan to buy, so I don't have to worry.

I'm just annoyed that I have to wait to get it until March 9th, but at least I'm not in Europe. But the character selection is kick ass, I just miss Mewtwo.

Yeah, the oldest video game company seems to offer the best customer service out there, even Sony couldn't offer similar customer service judging from how they reacted to the PS3 bugs.

Danny, the biggest argument was about who could be included in the game... Characters coming back into the fray, newcomers and also special guests.
For the latter, you probably heard about Solid Snake (and a weeping Kojima)... then the rumors exploded.
Well, Sonic is around. Many would even speculate about the appearance of Mega Man. LOL.
Well, that is all.
If you want me to describe the Smash Bros series in more detail, just ask.
(I have yet to rediscover SSB Melee btw. Darn Freeloader, get in my mailbox already!!)

I couldn't see what the fuss was about at first back in the GameCube? N64? days. But one day my bro had friends over and had the game running, so I gave it a go and found it really addictive.

I find Nintendo has the video game concept nailed. While having not so impressive gfx, the Wii reminded me what a fun game is all about, and its simple games did just that.
