7pm-ish at lalaport getting some Singaporean Hainan Chicken Lice. The taste has changed since the last chef got recruited by a competitor...
I love Chicken rice, especially the chilli and tender chicken... Yum!
So the thing that looks like a scoop of fried ice cream is chicken rice? Cool! So what's the other stuff? *I am quite ignorant when it comes to exotic foods.*
The "other exotic foods" seem to be Cucumber, Tomato & green onion. Hmm - not very exotic..
Hainan Chicken Lice! love it
You should try another variation of it, eating rice balls instead of rice(not onigiri but the rice is rolled to a ball). It's better imo.
chicken lice, better than flyed lice. ^^ always thought fried rice, chicken rice and java rice tasted different in Japan. must be the kind of lice... I mean rice they use. ^^ note that different doesn't mean it's bad. I actually like the Japan version. it's just that it doesn't taste authentic. ^^
Hmm, the lice/rice looks like a local dish that we have here too ...
chicken rice! every visitor to this sunny island will definitely try it. it's an Singapore icon! ^^;
hey Gordon, was wondering, is Roti Canai Singaporean or Malaysian?
I thought Roti Canai was Indian O_o
Well, they're must-have in Malaysian mamak stores.
Roti Canai is Malaysia i guess. Roti Prata is Sinagpore. ^^;
lol what went into my head ware the kopi roti buns :P and then old chang kee (more absurdly unrelated) @ gordon: isnt the chili crab more popular with daring taste buds?
Let's try serving foreigners some Chicken Lice for a change! I'm sure they'll love it! =D
Hainanese chicken over rice is delicious, I usually get that when I'm at a Malaysian restaurant though.
How much is that in yen Danny? just curious how much chicken rice in Japan. I love chicken rice too, always one of my favourite singapore food since I live here :D
Chicken rice! I think there not much difference between SG and MY chicken rice right? o.o I prefer the roasted(?) chicken. The one where the skin is brownish... Is Danny trying to spend less by ordering plain water? ^^;
looks yummy~! X3
Chicken lice lol. I haven't had any chicken rice since i've been here. But it's good to know you can get Southeast Asian cuisine in Japan.
...man that's too little food for me......i will need xxxl (if there is one)
Chicken 'Lice', LOL. And I love it! ^_^
:( I loved eating Chicken rice when I was in Singapore. S$7 for 2 chicken rice and 2 cokes at the one near me. Best in Singapore, JB and some say Batam.
Is that rice with chicken ? looks nice. Kagami-chan looks nice too ;)
Chicken rice is goooood. Singaporeans are basically surrounded by chicken rice everywhere they go :P
Changed? TO better or to worse? Anyway, this picture made me hungry, have to go and find something to eat:)
Geh. I just had Chicken Rice for dinner. What a coincidence...
Hey me too! ^^;;
Hmmm....I'm hungry ^^
lol lalaport? lala as in the shellfish or goth lolis?
looking at the photo makes me hungry now >_<
The stall is opened by a Chinese? :D
You've made me hungry now. I haven't had a dinner yet, but I know that I won't have anything as tasty as the meal in the picture.
i'm salivating like a hungry dog. just had dinner, but i think i'll go have something to eat now.
darn, that looks way better than the ones over here. *drools i would have asked them to peel off the skin for me though ^^
Hmm... In my stay in Japan, I think I stuck to eating traditional Japanese cuisine... like Mickey D's teriyaki burger =P
Yum! Very traditional! I think my co-worker had ebi-burger at McD's there.
Have the Bacon Egg Cheeseburger at Home Kitchen. !=)#
I actually some chicken rice last night. Albeit the chicken rice I had looked nothing like the chicken rice you had, but it was still delicious.
The secret lies with the rice... ;-) I don't see ginger, you go without ginger???
Looks delicious :3~~ I'm starving and that photo isn't making things better xP
omg that looks so good! *___*
I'm not the biggest fan of hainanese style chicken BUT I do like the rice with the dark sauce ^O^
mmmmmm as a hainanese myself, chicken rice is what I grew up with, however in SG you've gotta try laksa too, surprised no one mentioned it >.<
Hainan Chicken rice isn't something I really like. I'm more of a beef person myself. I do like the soup that comes with the chicken though. Good thing lots of orders come with it.
Hainan rice is pretty good, but I have issues with the occasional chicken bone shard...
It sure look yummy
a nice meal and nice company *hi kagami
omg *drools* that is looking taaaaaaasty
Oh my, I usually have this when I go back to my hometown. Parents nowadays are lazy to cook at home so we usually go down to the stalls near my housing estate. Fav is still "tu kar pui" .aka Pork Leg lice. Could find it at sg's open air stalls at Lavender St. Yummy stuff.
kagami sure looks delicous
oh wow. that seriously looks scrumptious! would love to try that out
Eh Danny's back in Singapore or...? Anyway, I love Chicken rice and other food that I can put in my mouth^^;
For once that actually dosen't look very good I don't know... it might be the lighting...
Rice cream.
the rice is not round enough! ^^;
Mmm.... Delicious chicken lice.
ooh I love Hainese chicken. It's really good, so the rice must be just as good!
Hey Danny, There is 1 singapore chicken rice place between roppongi and azabu juban. I tried a few place, i think that one taste the best and closest to singapore style. you can try go try it :) don't go to the Singapura place across asahi tv ... that taste awful :(
What's Lalaport? Oo, but it looks authentic enough!
its at toyosu if I'm not wrong :) I went there last year xmas eve for laksa :P they have "yat kun" there too!
Ain't it always? You frequent a restaurant and eventually the quality is compromised when a kitchen staff leaves. Looks dee-lish though.
Ooh, tasty! :D
That's a lot of rice. OoO
i was eating hainan/hainam chicken rice about 6 hours ago....it's kinda like my daily staple food here in malaysia....=_="
