Sorry - can't tell if it's sarcasm. But in case it's not, it's an inverse list - pachinko parlors are the lowest recommended.

Don't really remember my first date - ex-girlfriend and I were friends before hand and it was more gradual than anything else. Most of our first dates were to the mall though - just walking around the shopping centre talking. Every now and then we went to the theatre on the first floor.

I also went to a movie, usually good play to let the girl pick the movie, and ladies go ahead and pick whatever you want most of us guys really aren't watching it anyways. ^^;
On the down side, it's hard to have a quality conversation and "pass the M&M's" doesn't count. lol If you went for coffee afterward, that helps. If I could do it all over again I would have picked something else to do, but all in all it wasn't a bad date.

A love hotel is a place where guys and girls can be together without family members spying on them. This means that while eroge tells about one activity going on, the real life love hotels are somewhat different. You can decide on just sitting there playing playstation or watching DVD if you like. The main idea is just to get rid of parents/siblings, not to do ecchi stuff.
At least that's what I have been told. I have never actually been to a place like that.

Considering those numbers add up to 100%, each woman was only allowed to vote once. Gambling is worse than love hotels in this case. I can sort of understand why some might not mind going to a love hotel (particularly after considering tymmur's reply) but I'm rather hard-pressed to imagine a woman who would want to go to pachinko for a first date.

It makes even more sense when you consider that obsessive gamblers are apparently the only kind of men worse than anime otaku, according to Japanese women anyway... ( http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/12/15/anime-otaku-second-most-loathed-by-women/ )

A date is when a guy and a girl engage in an activity that they acknowledge as being a "date".

For example, going out to the movies with a girl is not necessarily a date. I have had this experience personally. I took a girl to a movie with the intention of having it be a date, and she never considered it to be a date, so it wasn't a date.

I am still unsure as to whether or not I had a date with this one girl. I asked her out to dinner, and we went late at night. Of course, we never made it clear one way or the other. Most people I know think that it was indeed a date; the only complication is that she had/has been dating another guy.

so this could probably be interpreted to say that there is only 7.8% chance the girl doesn't want to be taken to a love hotel. Those are some pretty good odds. Better gambling than pachinko if you ask me. =D

When I was dating my middle-high school sweetheart we really didn't make dates alone. We often went with friends and my first dates were lunches, dinners, and taking her to football games at our school. Latter on the school spirit died out so it wasn't that appealing anymore.

i've been on 1, but it was completely unofficial and unplanned.

standard manga style scenario:
several of my friends (7) were planning to go out one night to just hang in the city and everyone couldn't make it last minute.....except for 2. Me and her.

i think it might of had been a set up by the others. all their calls all came within 5mins.

Camping trip = good for couples who know each other well. Bad for first dates.

Who knows what the guy/girl might do outside of the watching eyes of modern society. People don't necessarily hear you scream out in the middle of the woods.

I don't count going to the movies with 3 girls a date. Especially since I didn't like any of them. Bike riding with a girl doesn't really count either since she really was nothing more than a friend in my opinion.

I love Arcades, Manga Café's and Restaurants
so of course I would like to bring a girl there

It really really depends, I mean you cant bring a girl to a arcade when she is not even interested into it

also bringing a girl to a arcade only works if you have that relaxed fun relationship which may grow to a lovers one

its not like you can say, "yeah lets have date... at the arcade" =DD

sadly...

(I want a gaming girl...)

How does the list work? Did they choose those choices from a list or write them down? You could easily forget things that you think would be obvious if you had to write them down. Or at least I would. If I was a girl, the idea of going to a pachinko parlor as a date wouldn't even cross my mind.

But there's no way I'd go for 1, 4 or 8 on any date =/

Where I take a girl on the first date usually depends on what I think she might like. Of course, that in of itself takes a little bit of effort, but only after she even agrees of course. ^^

My latest "first date" was to a café, simple yet elegant.

My very first "first date" was weird. Started out with us walking around in the city we lived in, and we ended up in the hospital!
No no, nothing bad happened, the girl in question had a friend who was hospitalized and we went to visit her. :)

Aww I don't know if it could be considered as first date, but the first time me and my bf went out to meet (without dating intentions, just meeting as friends - we met online, but through my friends X3 ), we went to a park. It was cloudly that day, that it made the park walk look like Resident Evil/Silent Hill adventure thought lolol XD but it was kinda nice and fun. ^o^
And then, when we started dating, we used to go to parks, museums, zoo, aquariums, etc. lol~ XD

I guess that it's considered dating if a guy and a girl goes out with the clear intention of seeing each other as more than friends. ^.^;

I'm surprised library didn't hit the top ten. Girls would easily be bored being in a library. Nothing goes on over there.

Never had a date by the way. Don't have the time anymore. Besides, the economy is bad at this point.

If life's a "Tokimemo" game, places like the library, the park and the karaoke box will increase your chances of getting me into a blushing state. Places like the amusement park and the ski lounge will increase your chances of getting a bomb. Of course, I'd end up being Yoshio instead.

I expected pachinko parlors, manga cafés, and game arcades to be in the list, but I didn't think that karaoke would be there. Is it really so bad to drop at karaoke bar on a date? You know, it could be kinda romantic, alone in the karaoke box, singing together, am I right?

Location for a first date.... good question. I guess it really depends on the girl.

I know a location where I wouldn't mind spending time with a girl. There is a forest near here and in a clearing there is a lake. You have to do a bit of hiking to get there and there are no signs, so you have to know it to get there. This means that you can have it all to yourself ^^
It's great at spring and summer time. I'm not sure it's an ideal first date location though.

Maybe it's healthy not to rush things so strict parents isn't the worst you can encounter. Besides once they realise that they can trust you (that is, if they can :P) then I guess the restrictions aren't that severe anymore. Remember that the most valuable you can have is children and you don't want anything bad to happen to them. I consider it a good sign that the parents wants to protect their daughter.

Remember sometimes you meet the one and only before you realise it so upsetting the parents of any girlfriend is a stupid idea.

I wish you the best of luck and happiness ^^

Gambling I can totally understand--not that conducive to social interaction. Actually, the same could be argued for arcades if there's no DDR or minigolf around. But as for me, if there's DDR and/or minigolf, I personally am so there. =P

Love hotel would be pretty bad for a first/early date, and camping you really have to know what you're doing for it to not suck.

I don't understand the objections with the manga cafe or the restaurants though. I mean, c'mon! There's food involved! Don't tell me they can really say no to food? And the manga cafe sounds very entertaining.

. . .but what the f***k is an excursion trip? *clueless*

I don't think it's a good idea for a first date or rather it's a bad idea unless you know her/him. Imagine going camping on a blind date ^^;

My dad took my mom camping. Since they were together 24 hours a day they got to know each other way better and my dad was sure that he had met the woman of his dreams. It would appear that camping is a great idea in some cases, but I wouldn't call it a date. A date has a somewhat shorter timespan.
