1/8 scale Good Smile Horo should be up for pre-order at your fave online figure dealer now. Due out in April and retails for 7,500 yen. More pics at GSC. Personally would love to see the Tony Taka nekkid Horro version - somewhere on this page. Hmmmm. shes cute too (unrelated-nsfw-but-tony-taka-too)
Nice figure. Dare I say, Spicey ? OoOoo See what I did there ? ^^
Thank you for the smile :)
wooo, have a slight problem with the face tho...it seems unproportionate
was gonna say the same thing. It doesn't quite look like Horo....
it looks a lot better compared to the Resinya or Kotobukiya versions I reserved this on HobbySearch as soon as pre-orders were out :3 this is the one I have right now : http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10067159 selling this for half price XD... anyone want to buy ? OTL
yes, something seems wrong. and that's gonna lean >.<
Maybe it is the fact you really can't see the nose at this angle because of the light... but I like it. The face pops in contrast to the hair which looks awesome. Love the dynamic pose as well. Very Tempting but I probably want to eat over the next month T_T
i couldn't quite put my finger on why, but i thought the face was off too... ever so slightly. out of all the current options i think i still like this one the best so i'll probably end up ordering her...
I think it's because her torso is so small. It makes the rest of her look just a little.. Off. I do like it though. I have a soft spot for cat girls and fox girls.~
Well, it all depends on what you have watched. If you watch the anime only, of coz it's off to you. But if you read all manga, light novel, and the anime, then it really doesn't matter to you at all (since they all have different style). XD
Unproportionate face? Unfortunately for you this is the anime version of Horo that we're looking at. The face, large eyes and even weird position of the nose are all accurately done to what was seen in the anime.
I have only seen the Anime and I believe its the big smile that makes us think the face is unproportionate. I've taken a look at the episode where horo ate those apples (ep 3) because that was the first scene I remembered her smiling in and its not such a precise line at the mouth's top. Except for that I think they have done a great job with the figure.
Too happy smiley... she is supposed to look more mischievous than thatxD
Yea I also don't like the face. I've read 2 or 3 chapters of the manga but only watched around 3 eps before I dumped it. But regardless I didn't like her face in any of them. I did like the drawing Tony Taka did of her.
Even if it is only 1/8 scale, doesn't look like it has much support being on it's left toe and all...but still it's a good figure...
probably weighted that foot down... to keep it balanced...
Her face.. doesn't look very 'horo'-ish to me. Thanks Danny for the T2 links ^^ Really need those to wake me up~
Nice figure, but i would prefer horo in the other outfit.
same she looks better with her dress~ also the lack of nose and fangs~
seconded
(^_^)agree about her face!
I also would like that T2 Horo figure ^^ Just have to hide it somewhere and oggl... er view it when it's safe ^^;
Something in her facial expression made me ask myself... "Is that my waifu?"
looks good~ but Horo's not exactly my type
What's better to say? Meow or Woof? XD I'd say, this was a nice figure. Or another nice common figure. Whichever, tis still nice.
Makoto says: Auu. ^^
Very cute.
Will pre-order this...Don't have a problem with the face..The closest among the Horo figs out there.(Koto and Taki)
Nice Horo figure! I too feel it's still not 100% spot on for Horo but it does look more like he and much better than the other Horo figures out there. And it does have some of that spunky and mischievous atmosphere. "Personally would love to see the Tony Taka nekkid Horro version." QFT Danny! Tony Taka's art is terrific. They really need to release a collector artbook with his best illustrations, including those from his Comiket doujins.
horo in the guy clothes which was ever so expensive that he had to save up for eons to buy.
Money wells pent I say! Or would you have preferred to see Lawrence in those clothes? ^^;;
Face is completely off. Definitely a leaner. In fact, she looks like she's half leaning already.
Face is comepletely off? Darn and your Canadian too. If you compare screencaps from the anime series to this figure's face, its really spot on. You might think that the nose is set too low or the eyes are too large, but fact is, if you rewatch the anime, its really like that. You must be a fan of the manga then i take it? And yes I agree, if it weren't for that design with the figure balanced on one toe, I would buy it. Definitely a leaner indeed.....
On closer inspection everyone here is probably a little bit ticked on the slight difference in the shape of the mouth when compared to that iconic still image of here waving out here right hand at the audience. The original drawing had her smile curved up a little bit. Of course this is a 3-D statue. And like all things that are translated from 2D to 3D its sometimes hard to capture all the fine details. Given if the figure doesnt lean "too much" I might just buy this one! Don't have a anime statue/figure yet.... ^_^ Only action figures like Figma and Vinyl figures.
zOMG! DO WANT!!!
She is so cute. I dont cant wait for him. I must buy Horo :)
In the official GSC English site, it said "FOX" in the description. What the heck. (-_______-.
Horo looks lovely. Nekkid Horo pic is form the c74 Tony Taka doujinshi, "Nantoiu Deculture", for anyone curious in exploring it some more
Why is she wearing pants, in anime this set was with long skirt (as far as I remember).
yes, thats the one things i think of when i saw this figure. didnt read the manga so maybe something happen to her skirt?
According to the GSC site, one can change between the pants and long skirt. It just so happens that Danny choose the sole sample image that features her in pants. Perhaps, it was to accentuate her figure more since the skirt does hide it some.
i think i wont get this one. not cute enough for me.
Might be getting it...she'll help keep my Kotobukiya Horo company :3
she's gorgeous!!! my love~! Holo!! instant autoget!
Oh!! I didn't see this anime yet, but she will be n my buy list xD
look a bit weird at first glance.. the other pictures in the gsc site looks nicer =X
Cute, but seems to have quite a fair bit of leaner potential :(
I liked the older version one with more clothes. She feels less protective with that limited amount of clothes. That and her previous clothing was just pure win and that's why I'm complaining ^_^
Trousers? Nononono thank you. None of the Horo figures have appealed to me so far.... sad but true.
Agreed on the trousers..
A little small, but nice. I do think the tail could have used more detail.
KAWAII!!
I think the overall proportion are off, but then again her figures are rare. If you are a big fan I guess this is a must get. But I agree with Danny, when would Tony San Horo be releases. =0=
I love wolves
I love Horo! I think it's a great figure of her. X3 Sadly, I'll be saving money for a con around that time and she is a bit on the expensive side. > . <;;
I really like this figure. Definitely falls within my taste! Though I agree with Danny that that nekkid version would be amazing. >.>;
Agreed..would have preferred Tony's version...
ah heck...i might as well buy it...haha
I just checked out the rest of the promo pics and it seems to me that: 1)The face looks much better from other angles 2)It actually comes with a hat, a vest and a skirt 3)The 'clothings' (particularly the vest) actually correct the proportion of the figure once they're on it (much like how the Saints of Bandai's Saint Seiya Cloth Myth look super skinny without their clothes on) This could easily be the best Horo figure so far, except for the possible leaning. ><
I dont like it. Its too simple I guess
NEKO NEKO, purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I want one!!!
Man that version looks terrible.
I take that back.. jut ran into more photos of this figure.... looks good with the rest of her outfit on.
I must get it!
Nice figure, but not that eye-catching at first glance though
Oh! That's a really nice Horo figure. Gonna have to try and get a hold of this one. I like that you can also have the skirt and vest on her.
I did like the Kotobukiya one, it captured her nicely. Too bad it was not in this costume. I hope there will be more as this one does not look like the wolf deity with the appearance of a 15 year old girl that is ホロー. 諦めなよ!☆
This horo is really cute, I like everything except for one thing; the nose. I find that the nose makes the face a bit weird ^^.
It's not bad, but never got into Spice and Wolf. Whatever I was expecting from the anime, it wasn't an economics lesson.
Horo is so cute... I'd buy that figure, yes
Not really a figure collector myself but, always like the paint work on Good Smile's figures. I like the black frills along the edge of the dress and the red rope(?) behind her.
Potential leaner?
Cute ^^;
I really like the paint job on this one- very detailed! :D
preordered it yesterday ^^
just have to say that the photos will always look better than the figures. whats the reason behind this again i think it was because photos reflect our actual shape n size in 2D right? or am i wrong.
Love this figure. Great pose and detailed features.
Nekkid Tony Taka Horo as a figure would definitely be lovely...
Ignoring the trousers (it doesn't seem to suit her, imho) and the face (something seems off), its a very well-made figurine ^^
Maybe not nekkid but as a cast-off. Still gonna get her though :)
somethings not right.. .. but its good smile after all!
I prefer Kotobukiya's version's pose :P
Still haven't seen the anime, but she doesn't look quite mischievous enough imho. For once I prefer the Kotobukiya version. Sign me up for a Tony Taka version as well...
its good but i say it could be much better with a bit more effort.........
