Video sample of the Lumix LX3. Nice wide angle but the sound quality is quite crap. May try to shoot a trooper video with this as the sound goes on afterwards anyway. 'higher' quality version at YouTube.
Looks nice, but is it just me,or is the sound quality's not that crappy as u said??Maybe it's just me since never hold a handycam before...
I didn't think the sound quality was that bad either. Or maybe I'm associating the downgrade of audio to Youtube as opposed to the source. What resolution was this shot in? I saw from the specs that 16:9 movies can be 848 x 480 or 1280 x 720.
im seriously thinking about buying this camera and i would also like the know the resolution. im doing a bit more research but so far it looks great. im not sure how to judge the sounds quality... not much to judge from since we only get alot of random nose plus the wind.
Quality wasn't as bad as I expected. I'm thinking about a new camera myself, might have to consider this.
unfortunately i get a "no longer available" message for the high quality video =( Still your audio quality is much better than my canon a590 But man, digital cameras are a great example of how far technology can go in such short times. Seeing compact digital cameras that are able to produce better video quality than some expensive large sized camcorders from some years ago amazes me.
You sure? Try refreshing the page. Youtube seems to have some issues with that error message thing.
i fixed my problem. apparently the flash 10 plugin i had in packaged in with my firefox/ubuntu was the problem. uninstalled and reinstalled 10.0.2 works like a charm now.
I think the sound problem was only the wind noise. If you could somehow attach one of those furry covers like you see the TV crews use on their mikes, it could help block the 'noise'. Pretty cool to see the Sega Arcade front look exactly the same as in Virtua Fighter 5 on the xbox360 :)
Oddly enough that's something I tried with my Canon G5 when I was filming autocross. I taped a piece of foam over the mic and it only helped out marginally at best. Good idea though.
hum...the more news I hear about LX3, the more I'm interested with the camera. The only thing I have with it is the price, since the official HK importer will take a huge bite out of my pocket.
Oooo, i liked that, Danny, what you think about a series like "a week in tokyo" but this time a video walkthrough, they don't have to be long but I'd love video walkthroughs of different areas, pleeeeeaaaaaase consider it!
I'd have to agree with you. Maybe something like a combination of this and the tour he gave for the Silicon Valley folks that Boing Boing filmed. Also, it was fun trying to count all the pretty girls that passed by Danny. :D
hahaa...i was counting too...they were mostly near the beginning XD
It's a damn shame they were all walking in the wrong direction though.
Thinking the same here too. Maybe something like "2min on the streets of Japan". Then maybe some annotations can be put into the video.
OK it doesn't beat my canon ixy, so i'll keep it ^^
Maybe you can do one of your photo walks in video with this ^__^ I'll try to spot the drunk salary men.
Video quality seems to be nice. And great walk on the street also.
Looks a very good quality ^^ OH!! A Sega store or game shop ^^
Nice video! I'm considering a Canon 5D Mark II right now. Maybe I won't have enough $candy$ for it, my cheaper option would be Lumix. :D
It's pretty good...the video quality... The sound is okay... I feel that I'm back in Japan after watching this video...I can't wait till next summer!!!!!! I'll be back in the land of the otaku-ism!!!!!!
Sounds seems ok but it appears to pick up a lot of background noise rather than what the camera is being pointed at. Also, nice smile :)
Can you use the zoom while shooting video? Also that guy running at you at the end was scary. haha
not bad quality there, sound doesn't seem too bad but I'm sure it could be better
It looks good! What resolutions does it support? How is the fps?
looks good to me
Looks pretty good Danny. Recommend you do another sample a dusk with the bright lights of the city to see how that goes.
That would be nice to see the night life of Japan.
yup, third that !
ah.. that would be nice too. the video really gives you more of a feel like we're walking in japan. compared to pictures
Considering it's a camera the video quality is not bad at all. The sound was not terrible either ^^
Good, but not great.
ah... missing japan ^^;
at 1:33 it's like you're stalking that guy it the trenchcoat 2:00 I WA SHOCK
I thought the sound was pretty good...
it might be too much to ask but here it goes, what would you think of a segment where videos are posted of particular districts in japan, similar to this one. I got to say that i really enjoying watching this video since i want so bad to live in japan and want to get familiarize
the sound quality ain't so bad~ overall the sound and video is good. lol@ the last part w/danny. pure win!
way better than my optio or my blackberry's camera (the two cameras I usually use)! :P
audio and video wasn't that crappy compared to other point and shoot I've tried. although the video was a bit choppy at times.
If I were to buy a new compact camera, the LX3 would be my choice x_x
your smile at the end and the arcade are the best parts =D
The video quality looks good. As you said the sound quality isn't the best, but for a digital camera it does the job.
I guess its ok ^_^ I'm fairly happy with any camera as long as the photo is clear, not pixelly =3
