Folks who are visiting Tokyo now may want to get long to Asobit Hobby in Akiba as they are having a sale where many Gundam stuff is discounted up to 70%. Most sales that I've come across are full of stuff that nobody wants though - stuff that the retailers need to get rid of. Any sales worth going to in your area? Via AkibaMap.
Nothing like that in my area sadly. They are still charging $44 USD for the Nanoha Figma that came out who knows how long ago.
do not have shop here...That work going for it I mean...LOL believe me they don't give discount xD
For today only the Verizon store is selling phones for as low as $30. Gonna pick up a couple $50 enV2's today. ^_^
Whoa, are you serious? I wanted an enV2 before, but the price tag put me off -_-. I have a Juke. What sale was this, and what was the occasion?
Sales on figures mostly consist of older figures, alot from the To Heart series, or Bome figure. Some Rah DX ones too. They're the only ones I've encounted at any rate.
There's a surprising amount of pre-Christmas sales goin on this year because of the slow economy. I've finished my gift shopping already. No gundam sale stuff around here tho.
> .. stuff that the retailers need to get rid of Hmm, I have noticed it too, it's very hard to find something really good from discount sales. But of course it depends on that you are expecting to find:)
Conventions (AFA08) are basically the bargain/clearance paradise.
Sales? What sales?
:( I wish we had an anime store here. The only one around here closed down. Well, the owner was kind of an asshole, but still >_<
I think I know which one you're talking about. Although honestly, their anime consisted mainly of DVDs and North American copies of manga. It would've been nice if they had more miscellaneous items, like figures and stuff. Too much mainstream stuff. That and, I know it more as the Magic store since my friend went to play in tourneys there...
we should all make a anime figure store and be rish =.= ( or made cafe ^^)
from the title i thought japan really needed money and were going to be selling the whole akihabara district
Second that ... lol
third that
fourth that
I remember a Newbury Comics store in Boston was moving a short distance away (from a commercial area to a more tourist place). So they had a huge sale because they were literally trying to get rid of the store's entire stock of dvds, comics, toys etc. I was able to get 2 Mon-Sieur Bome figures cheap. Sadly the new store is lacking. I can't think of any other good sales although Rightstuf.com from now till Dec 7 is having a HUGE bargain sale of DVDs. I've gotten a couple of good entire series of 6 DVDs and Box for less than $50.
Yeah. The entire Lain series and OST for $6 a pop. Some stuff for $4/disc.
one thing about CDjapan sales I dont like is even though they advertise up to 70% off, all the good stuff is only 10% off and that annoys me I like rightstuf.com sales
The only store I know is an online store that has a huge sale of anime dvds. They have up to 95% off of msrp on mainly anime dvds this whole week.
care to share what online store?
http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/
Oops looks like someone already mentioned the site earlier. Gomen -_-
I seldom see sales here though I did get some Kanon figures I wanted slightly discounted at Gamers. In Houston, Bedrock had major sales on everything around Halloween. Don't know if they still do that.
There are no hobby shops over here, if they had. I would probably end up buying useless/unwanted stuff just because it was selling cheap XD
ohhhh hawt hawt hawt ! I do believe I see me some Death Scythe gundam. I would love to buy nephew that for christmas.... unfortunately he has a large number of years to go before he is old enough to handle that. (he's about 10 months old)
oh Danny, i'm sure your house won't be big enough very soon ^^ amazing sales
He'll have to get a garage.
Most of the time it's either useless stuff or not that significant of a sale. Had a local place that had all used DVDs for $5. Normally they are $7 so it didn't matter too much, but I ended up getting some good deals, like the entire series of Serial Experiments Lain for $20, Nausicaa for $5, and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust for $5.
time to switch to Blu Ray !!!!!! ^^
You've said you need to get back into Gunpla - buy the whole lot Danny ;D
>_< zzzaaam 70% off. You don't ever see that here, even if they are models nobody wants...
I am really going to miss the "Lucky bag" sales of new years day. Amazon hada some good video game deals on black friday. Some games a week old were half off (left 4 dead)... Other than that, most places had the word "SALE!" plastered everywhere, but nothing was any cheaper than normal.
Well PC fair in Malaysia is gearing up soon and depending on which state you're in, it's either to clear out old stock like in Penang or its more like a computer expo like in KL
Oh god, I wish I had money and was in Japan right now. I so have a thirst for some Gunpla about now ^^I
No figma's? :3
Anyone knows if they got Perfect grade Gundam figures on the discount?
Certainly no sale in the Japan Centre in London... *cries at the price of stuff I bought there*
Last time I was in a local store they put a little discount in some stuff, but the boxes were in really bad conditions, nobody is going to buy that.
sale on figures and gunpla are very rare in the philippines. The biggest discount I had for gunpla was 10%. although I do remember they were selling some kits at 50% off in Akihabara when I was there.
Not much sales here... There are barely a sell here... Online stores always have sales so I'm happy. I wish I was in Akiba....so many good stuff for sale!!!!!!
last time america had a sale somebody got tramplede to death........
i got to say that for black friday there were a lot of good stuff especially for internet, but not so much as to pay with credit card... i wish i was in akiba too
Who's/what's that blurred? Adult material? :D
If something, figure shops around here will only raise the prices on figures that too many people want. Most figure stores in Brazil would rather keep the figures forever rather than giving big discounts on them... unfortunately. In my last trip to figure shopping, I've seen several figures that I've seen a couple of years ago in the same spot and same price. Kinda sad.
lol the title really surprised me. though someone was selling the whole of akiba on ebay or something XD
My goodness 70% off. Thats a very very good bargain.
Hmmm... there was alot of figurines going at low prices at AFA'08. but that was over. anyway, can always hunt ard on sundays at China Square Central for what you wan.
ha, misleading title. no figure shops here, so no such sales.
I don't know I haven't seen any sales, but then again if there were sales it'd be on crap nobody wants and have absolutely nothing to do with figures/anime
Woah 70%?! This beats the sale during AFA!
anyone that goes in the shop that has a 70% discount is gonna have a truck rdy to bring it back to his home ^.^
Someone needs to hurry up and develop commercial human teleportation so that I can take advantage of these deals... ^^
Well, if you think about it a store wouldn't have a sale unless it couldn't move its stock...otherwise, why discount items and make less money? You don't keep stuff unless you know you can sell it later, otherwise you get rid of it to fill your shelves with something that will. Which is why I suppose anime stores around here never really have a sale and have small discounts at best. There's so few of them around that stock is bound to be move eventually, and restocking is done so infrequently and in such little amounts that they're not really in a rush to clear up shelve space.
It's rare for Anime retailers in Los Angeles to throw sales similiar to this one. Usually when they do have sales they also place things nobody wants on sale. At Kinokuniya Bookstore in L.A. they have old magazines up to 80% off, because of how old these magazines are. They have that sale about twice a year though.
very rare in my region must wait around 3-4 years until sale!!!
Same type of sales... useless crap! :(
Is there such thing as a black friday or something similar to it in japan?
I wish I knew about this sooner. Mostly because a friend of mine said today that she and her boyfriend are going to celebrate Christmas in Obama, Japan. Oh well... She would not have gotten me anything, and I am not sure if she is a Gundam fan. XP
Black Friday (traditional start of holiday shopping season) just happened. It's supposed to be a really big sale but I really had nothing that I needed. There was a laptop that's 300 dollars.
isn't that a MG wing zero I spot on the left? and nobody want them there? waw
Nope, there ain't no Wing Zero there in the pic, you were probably looking at a GP01fb
ah you're right, my bad :P I should've known, most of them are 1st gen MGs and an oldies HG grade 1/100
I want to be there!
yep. we have some hobby sales here especially before the holidays ^^
Uu~ I wish we had more sales here >.< Nice ot see Gundam models going for cheaper though.. they can be pretty expensive at times ..
Damn, I wish I was there around now...
wooow... i'd be happy to see a gundam sale around here.... sigh~
When sales go on here, people go nuts...I mean some store employee got stampeded to death, a 8 month pregnant woman was injured, and 2 people got shot at a kids toy store...
That PG Zaku II is beckoning me..
70% discount? You have got to be kidding me! O_o Sales here can only have discounts as high as 10% only x_x
this is one of the reasons why Japan is great! oh and i see Deathscythe [w00t!]^^
Recently bought a few beauties myself at a fraction of their original cost (which I base on AmiAmi's non-discounted prices). I'd very much like that Perfect Grade Zaku II at the back though.
http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/ for some of my online shopping. But that's it. Other than that, not a lot of stores around my region are discounting big time -_-
nothing like that in my country... :(
I like gundams..especially Zakus & Gouf..If only I can teleport to that place so I can buy them all..T_T
SALE? Wtf is that? Its a four-letter word we can never use around here xD
SALE? I have some money to spare. Wish i was there right nao.
No sales... just rip offs.
hmmmm the word Gundam Kit does not exist around here LOL!
LOL, those model kit would still SELL FOR ALOT here in the USA. Should've been in Japan, pick a cargo of those cheap toys and sell em for high prices here to the little kids, make mulas!
OH MY GOD!!!
A lot of new figmas are out this month. Hope I can pass by a local store to check them out
lol. very cheap. but i think is that cheap because of the economy crisis, anyone are buying as before.
During christmas is the best time to go buy anime goods. I know of 4 anime/manga stores (all up to 30mins away) and chirstmas is TRULY the best time of the year. Some sales would be "buy 4 get 1 free", "buy 2 get 1 half off". Also, I think that the holidays is the time that they would want to get rid of most items, and bring in new stuff for the new year. I live in Toronto, Canada. but when ever I go to the states, Shopping for manga there is one of the best things ever, there is so much more to choose from, and going to a regular book store is about just as good as an anime/manga shop. Though dress shopping is very fun as well. haha :3
Hi, This is alora.Sales on figures mostly consists of older figures, alot from the Heart series or Bome figures. ============ annika MLS listings
no sells like that near my area. would be nice.
Do they always have sales at the end of the year?
