Definitely, I even wrote a little review blurb on it at my blog
http://lovelyduckie.wordpress.com/2008/09/21/sayonara-zetsubo-sensei/

Although professional reviews are probably far better. It was hard to put into words why I liked this series so much.

If you're miffed by the occasional social or political issue, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is quite good. If not, it's quite funny and random regardless.

"...inludes a rope to hang him with" Ahaha...that's going to seem so weird to people who don't know what the show is. xP I can only imagine what my parents would think.

Speaking of which, there's a typo there - "includes" needs a "C". Didn't notice that earlier.

I'm rather curious, how can that anime series be so popular and iconic? I can't help but be bedazzled by it especially on a nendoroid scale.

its iconic cause it caught the persona of the japanese. itoshiki and his students are the embodiment of japanese society and added to the the witty sarcasm and dry humor and sometime epic weird, SZS really captures the spirit to be an icon. not much anime can make fun out of itself and japanese society and still not become morbid ^^; I recommend it to those we in-depth or more familiarity with japan's culture or else it will be boring

and oh, I've been waiting for this for ages. Bet it'll arrive here in ph around april or may, enough time for me to save up *u*

First season was stunning, but the second season kinda lost that shock appeal for me. As for the OVA, that was dull, probably because I'd read the relevant chapters in the manga... still worth a watch, though.

I highly recommend the anime if you've got a sense of humor that can appreciate absurdity, especially in the realms of social commentary. This is the anime equivalent of Johnathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels except it covers the life of a dysfunctional teacher with a class of dysfunctional students.

It's very good.

I didn't take much not of it at first because I thought a show about a pessimistic and suicidal teacher would just end up being all dark, boring and emo. I WAS SO WRONG! It's nothing like that and that is the charm behind it.

I totally regret not watching it sooner and I would recommend it to anyone.

There is so much love for Zetsubou Sensei. It's about time they finally made a figure of him. Now if only the rest of the cast got one too...

I hope they do make ones of the girls in the near future.  I wonder if they will make one of Kimura in one of her famous poses. ("I'll sue you!!!") ^^;
