Hmmm. I really need to get back into Gundamming but finding time to start modeling again is going to be tough.
How often do you get around to making a new kit?

Well, I'm a complete novice at this. Though I'm not a Gundam fan, I do have a few Code Geass models. They are great 5-6 hour projects, but I don't do painting or anything else though...

Ah, awhile ago I got MG Hyper Mode G Gundam, though I was rather discouraged that the gold pain gets chipped off. So I'm waiting for when I somehow find a way to paint and get some gold paint and stuff. Though I also need to test the electric airbrush my dad gave me since it's old and I don't know how well it'll work.

What also discouraged me was the fact that when I was screwing the screws for the action frame the book told me to use one which has the same diameter as the screw, but that ended up wearing it out. So now a bit of the screw sticks out which makes a bit of the piece I have to put over it stick out

I haven't built a Gundam kit for a long time. Somewhere as long as Danny-san.

The next kits I really like to obtain is Infinite Justice Gundam (MG) & VF-25F (Macross Frontier). I still have unfinished kits, 2 SDs from SEED Stargazer, Strike Freedom BM, Infinite Justice Gundam neck mod and a MG Saviour Mod which it got stuck at puttying ^^;

Painting is the hardest...

It's very time consuming to do a detail paint job on gunpla, rushing it is not the way as the best is to enjoy the flow so that the end result will come out nice & the modeler themselves will also feel satisfy & proud of it.

I'd seen my associate do contract of toys modeling for Hasbro as a professional modeler.

THAT! is one of THEE coolest freaking things I have ever seen ! Where can I find a life sized version ? =p

As far as Gundamming,  I did one about 9 Years ago when I was in High School. It was Deathscythe Hellcustom.    Although there was no painting involved or anything complicated.  It was one of those medium difficulty EASY ones.  I somehow magically effed it up too.   Still have it.... in pieces... lurking in different places....  ;_;

it was this one  http://www.gkworld.com/product/GKW34033/Gundam_Deathscythe_Hell_Custom_Model_Kit_Figure.html

Duo was paintable though. But I never did actually paint him though. (which is why i said no painting was involved, duh)

There are some companies out there that specialize with metal add-ons for models. That, and a little magic with plastic and putty.

Do you know where I can find add ons to the PG Strike Gundam?
I have the Aile+Skygrasper but i know of other parts the can go with the strike. I have searched online but i only find that the parts that would go to the Strike are only 1/60 scale and not PG does that mean the part wont go good with a PG although its just 1/60 scale add on?

Having just completed the PG Strike I am finding myself not wanting to spend money on lesser kits. It seems I am Master Grade or nothing at this point, no longer satisfied with the HG kits. Makes for a lot less gundaming in my life.

seemed to take forever for me these days. my mgs has been stuck for more than 6mths, they are all stuck in straight-build stage, waiting to be prime and sprayed. And the tropical weather over here makes it worse. On weekends, when I'm free to do spray work, weather gets to cloudy/rainy, when I not free, freaking hot blazing sun. :s

That looks pretty good. It's a pity that the kampfer mg has a bad joint system.

For me, a new kit takes forever but not because I work slow. I've been working on a scratch build conversion for the pg strike for 2 years now. I think it's at 90% complete now, but it keeps going back down when I come us with more brilliant ideas for more articulation. Sometimes I wish I was less creative.

Very nice made Kaempfer, like all those mods that you made. If it goes about models then I made usually 1 per 1-2 months it all depends how much money I can spend on gunpla, I always find some time to complete it. Right now I'm waiting for MG Infinite Justice and 1/100 Dynames. And in next month I will order 1/100 Over Flag and maybe Astrea Type F . In next year probably in spring I plan to buy airbrush because painted models are looking much better so then my time of completing gunpla will be longer because of sanding,painting etc. But oh well it's my hobby so I always find some free time :D .

I made arrangements with comrades to get together to build plamo every 2-3 weeks. The amount of progress isn't that much but better than none. Planning dates to build plamo does help tho.

for the t=month of October and November, I got four kits...
Probably I will not buy anymore until I finish half or three of those, as well as getting money for them

It's been a LONG while since you've last mentioned anything "Gundam", Danny! Whatever happened to that Wing Ver. Ka you were working on? ^^;
As for myself, I take a little free time everyday (30 mins-2 hour) to work on a model and I try to complete one model roughly every other week. I envy those who can complete a MG kit in a day or two.

It takes me anywhere between a month and 4 to finish a figure, although gundam kits tend to be a lot faster, esp if I decide to forego painting for any reason.

My first gundam was Gundam Wing Zero First Edition. LOL I really made it nice, but then due to my playful child time, I used it as a protagonist in my fictional world. Used it to *defeat* any figures I have, used it as a movie star. LOL, eventually, it broke up because of too much use. I saw the middle part, where the belly is for us humans, crap out. It was thin because of too much 'movements' of my kit. LOL

it depends on whats going on with me (school, work) but it usually take me anywhere from 1 to 4 months. The MG Destiny I just finished I started back in july so this took even longer than 4 months

Alas, i have a dozen or so kits sitting in storage, and haven't such as handle a Gundam marker in months... and then, not in the service of modeling. And yet, I keep buying new kits. T_T

Perhaps one day, I will have a proper workspace for modelling again, one that the cats will not disturb between sessions....

I was on hiatus for 7-8 years, just got back into it this year. I've so far completed 4 this year, one MG and 3 1/144 HG, seeing the difference in quality from back then is suprising.

It takes me about 3-7 days for the 1/144 HG. The MG took me about 2 weeks, cuz i was working a summer job and was quite busy.

It really depends on my mood at the time I start a project. But I will say 1 solid month has been my fastest to complete a build. And my slowest was almost 8 months!...just couldn't for the life of me finish my PG Strike. Now that it's been done for awhile I've stripped it clean and I am going to repaint my PG Strike. Go figure see you next year I guess! =)

haven't dont any gundamming since I built my PG strike and skygrasper+ailestrike which was nearly 2 years ago. Lack of money and time meant I couldn't really do much about it. I could try doing some noe but with uni and work its just too hard. Besides, having a 4 year old foster child who has way too much energy and too eager to want to try and do everything I do has sort of stopped me from getting any gunpla now that I can afford them.
All i can do is look at them on the net and drool :P

It's funny this post came up--I not to long ago made a post on my blog about getting back into building Gundam mods. I haven't built a Gundam model in 4 years! I got caught up playing Pay-2-Play MMORPGs, I couldn't afford them anymore; it was either that or give up Manga which is the second reason my allowance goes so fast. I used to buy most of my models from Toys "R" Us when Gundam Wing was huge here in the US. Now I'll have to get them online.

I get around to making a new kit, whenever I can afford it, which is rare. Painting tends to cost me more than the kit itself so I am doomed to wait until I have a good amount of income.

I've got a couple of 1/144 in my room. The first one I ever bought was a Flag. It was only 900 yen but I had no idea if it was any good or not. Turns out it wasn't great. I got a 1/144 00 Gundam after that and then I realised what was possible. The last thing I built was a 1/100 Freedom. I did the whole thing in a solid 9 hour session. I don't have anywhere to paint them though so that really speeds up the process...

Thinking of making an Exia next and at least trying to ink the panel lines.

I dont make many gundma purchases my last were in the summer, and I beleive I got a 1/144 HAC and 1/100 Nataku and Death Scythe Hell. I'll probably make a couple purchases within the next few weeks. What sucks is that I ahve to order all of mine online seeing as no stores carry them in my area so getting them is a bit of a diterent for me.
