Boy stabs 5

Boy stabs 5
A boy aged 16 suddenly started to stab away at shoppers shouting "KOROSHITE YARU!" meaning "Im going to kill you!"
Nobody died but had injuries to their arms and chest.
The boy was arrested and later told police - "I didn't care who - I just wanted to kill everybody."
This little nutter went on the rampage near where I live...

Frustrated youth, where have I not seen this before? xD. Still, pressure and hate and all that stuff is essential for growth, but only when it has to do with dominating those harsh and uneasy feelings. This boy is failing, growing weak. Logic says you just can't go out and injury people like it was nothing.

It's always a brain issue. Every facet of experience is neurological—love, hatred, pleasure, pain, fear, bravery, anxiety, nonchalance... it's all neurological. The pleasure of tasting something sweet is in a small bundle of neurons in the rostromedial shell of the nucleus accumbens. The sensation of coldness is triggered by sensory neurons that express the protein TRPM8.

It will be a great leap forward for mankind when we can identify, treat, and prevent the neurological dysfunction that leads to this sort of behavior. And that day is not very far off. The next decade or two will see incredible advances in this area.

Research takes time, and a lot of hard work by a lot of brilliant and dedicated people. You want results yesterday? Yeah, that would be nice. But wishful thinking serves no purpose whatsoever. The only thing we can do is go forward from where we are and work as hard as we can.

@2G in Australia - I agree partly. a blade weapon is deadly in "skilled hands" - but a gun takes far less skill to operate and in a crowded area even random stray bullets can find a target.

I have to confess here..

When I was a newcomer in Australia, I felt so depressed, frustrated, sad, angry, distrust to others and well, I feel just about any negative emotion there is, especially because my home stay parents aren't considerate enough towards newly-immigrated kids.. had they have more considerations, I might feel less negative emotions.

And it was also because I went to Australia on my parents' command. It wasn't my decision to go there. So, well, yeah, I didn't have the care to put enough efforts to tackle any possible hardships that I may face and well, I just complain about it to my parents,"dad, mom, crap this place is crap, you sent me to such a crappy place, damn it! This isn't like Indonesia, this place is so cold (it was spring but it was cold compared to tropical weather), the bed is so small, the room is so small, Australia isn't good, let me go back!".

Basically, I was being like an ass hole, a totally spoiled kid.. that was perhaps, the worst phase of my life.

My deepest apologies to all Australians here, but that was really how I felt about Australia when I hadn't adapted to the place. Now that I have adapted to Australian life, I, of course, like to live in Australia (too bad TPG's 150 GB plan came out after I left Australia for good) >_<

Well, my point is, people who are immigrated tend to experience much greater stress, pressure and difficulties than locals, especially if they immigrate not on their own will/decision (like what I did), since that would mean that they will be less caring about adapting to the new place (like me) which is bad since adaptation is very important.

And since they don't care so much about adapting they might look for other solutions to relieve their negative emotions, one of those other solutions may come in form of killing others...

To all parents out there, don't force your kids to move abroad, I don't want other kids to experience the same thing that I experienced..

And, as for locals who are unable to adapt to their living conditions, they must be facing a such a great hard ship that is beyond their coping ability, they need help from, first of all, their parents and family.

If their parents and family are unable to help them, then it's time to look for helps from friends.

If their friends are unable to help them, then it's time to get psychiatrist to help

If psychiatrist can't help them..

Then the person need to be put into the asylum until healed.

Sorry for the long post, and sorry for putting some personal things here ^_^

Wow, you have gone through hard times.

I would understand if that was the problem in our country, but mostly the kids were born in Germany.
But somehow they don't assimilate (hope it's the right word) into our commonwealth (I think this word is wrong, but I don' know the right one).

It's more like they create their own "little country", for example like "Chinatown" or "Little Italy" in the US.

Oi, just imagine if guns more readily available in Japan. There may be restrictions on firearms in the country, but that doesn't make certain people any less intent on carnage. There seems to be a few stories each year of someone grabbing a knife or a bat and having at it on random passersby on the streets of Japan. Has much research been done to learn why this is happening, and seems to be increasing in recent years?

Hm. Well ladies and gentlemen, what can I say...Only that; here's another story of how our society slowly but surely is falling apart, and not due to chemicals, or global warming,or nuclear weapons, although those are problems as well, but because we, humans, are destroying each other. Sad, but funny as well and to tell you the truth, I don't pity the guy who went and stabbed all these people, but I pity the society that made him that way. and yeah, the people he stabbed may or may not have been innocent, but I guess there's a lesson to learn from this article.

You know Maya, I don't really feel that way. If laws and customs weren't observed at all, this kind of event would be common... People would get berserk and commit the worst at any moment, for any reason/excuse.
I am glad that humans have moral sense (when it is well-transmitted and not tainted with hidden evil ends), otherwise it would be mayhem everywhere, what you usually see in post-apocalyptic movies or full-of-crime cities in movies such as Robocop.
And sadly, it happens in reality too.

And I meant by that that it has always existed, whether it be in "modern societies" or what was at the dawn of time.
That kind of reaction is not to relate to any culture rather than the other, etc. but our feral instinct of destruction, still it should be righteously unacceptable nowadays.
However, there will always be people who will fall into the cracks... Too much social expectation and pressure, difficult conditions of living, progressively diminishing resources...
But not a reason to give up or snap. Let's fight for our future, always and forever.

I'd want to go on a diatribe about the dangers of raising our kids wrong, the influence of the media on impressionable youth, bullying in Japanese schools and what the educational system is doing about it, all of which could have made him snap and lash out on society. He COULD be an unfortunate victim of all aforementioned circumstances.
