A boy aged 16 suddenly started to stab away at shoppers shouting "KOROSHITE YARU!" meaning "Im going to kill you!" Nobody died but had injuries to their arms and chest. The boy was arrested and later told police - "I didn't care who - I just wanted to kill everybody." This little nutter went on the rampage near where I live... Via Asahi.
Where is the world going to? *Shakes head* Hopefully damage was minimal.
Frustrated youth, where have I not seen this before? xD. Still, pressure and hate and all that stuff is essential for growth, but only when it has to do with dominating those harsh and uneasy feelings. This boy is failing, growing weak. Logic says you just can't go out and injury people like it was nothing.
not all human can take pressure most get stronger few, snapped and go rampage, or do stupid stuff but lately , maybe most snapped, few passed/getting stronger ^^;? bad j/k
if most end up as "snapped" then we all better learn how to wield a katana. btw, hendrik, thanks for the short lesson on the Comiket's modius operandi. now i know when to go if the chance ever comes and not get labelled a lolicon by my friends ^_^
Comiket's modius operandi? Would you mind telling me too, hendrik? I'm also curios about it!
i think i never mention any comiket modius operandi. ^^ which post?
aww the boy needs some love
the boy needs Love & help (psychologist)
I hear the Black-Eyed-Peas song coming up...
i need psychiatrist now >_< i watch that hostel movie and now my brain keep getting filled with lot of sadist torturous fantasy didn't snapped yet though
That guy need some maid-service, you know. 'Tis a strange world we are livin' in... ^^;
That's quite creepy. @_@
that's...not cool ^^;;
bullied victim? yeh, ppl got snap alot these day, especially lot of violent entertainment lately (anime(heh), american drama and games) although they are not the trigger, they are plan/concept, not that i hate anime and game though, i love them bullies and society are the trigger
Hmmm wonder what made him snap? Bullying? Issues at home? Or maybe he was one of those who just had a brain issue.
It's always a brain issue. Every facet of experience is neurological—love, hatred, pleasure, pain, fear, bravery, anxiety, nonchalance... it's all neurological. The pleasure of tasting something sweet is in a small bundle of neurons in the rostromedial shell of the nucleus accumbens. The sensation of coldness is triggered by sensory neurons that express the protein TRPM8. It will be a great leap forward for mankind when we can identify, treat, and prevent the neurological dysfunction that leads to this sort of behavior. And that day is not very far off. The next decade or two will see incredible advances in this area.
good. no more madmen near my living area... in the next few decades.... >_>
Research takes time, and a lot of hard work by a lot of brilliant and dedicated people. You want results yesterday? Yeah, that would be nice. But wishful thinking serves no purpose whatsoever. The only thing we can do is go forward from where we are and work as hard as we can.
wise man once say: "when one feels like killing people always start with self"
damn straight
I agree with that. And if one feels like killing itself, don't throw yourself in front of a train, because it will cause delays and traumatize the train driver and passengers.
reminds me of itachi from naruto when he killed his entire clan just cuz.
Psychological problems I guess... "normally" when this happens there is one place where it begins and thats at home unfortunately.
At least he use a knife. Over here in the States, kids use guns when they want to go on a rampage.
Actually, a edged weapon wound is more deadly than a gunshot wound. Excluding headshots, and anything larger than a 22.
@2G in Australia - I agree partly. a blade weapon is deadly in "skilled hands" - but a gun takes far less skill to operate and in a crowded area even random stray bullets can find a target.
I think that guy had soome... Jenkem o.o http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenkem
Guess they needa start selling Tasers in Japan? Anyway just watch out for any suspicious looking boys out there in case anything happens? =x
dont tase me bro!
Don't taze me bro don't taze me!
But then the prevention method might backfire and some kid went tasing (is that a word? lol) everybody >_
At the moment, our problems with the youth crime in Germany are increasing. More and more young people (mostly with immigration background) are causeless attacking innocent people.
I have to confess here.. When I was a newcomer in Australia, I felt so depressed, frustrated, sad, angry, distrust to others and well, I feel just about any negative emotion there is, especially because my home stay parents aren't considerate enough towards newly-immigrated kids.. had they have more considerations, I might feel less negative emotions. And it was also because I went to Australia on my parents' command. It wasn't my decision to go there. So, well, yeah, I didn't have the care to put enough efforts to tackle any possible hardships that I may face and well, I just complain about it to my parents,"dad, mom, crap this place is crap, you sent me to such a crappy place, damn it! This isn't like Indonesia, this place is so cold (it was spring but it was cold compared to tropical weather), the bed is so small, the room is so small, Australia isn't good, let me go back!". Basically, I was being like an ass hole, a totally spoiled kid.. that was perhaps, the worst phase of my life. My deepest apologies to all Australians here, but that was really how I felt about Australia when I hadn't adapted to the place. Now that I have adapted to Australian life, I, of course, like to live in Australia (too bad TPG's 150 GB plan came out after I left Australia for good) >_< Well, my point is, people who are immigrated tend to experience much greater stress, pressure and difficulties than locals, especially if they immigrate not on their own will/decision (like what I did), since that would mean that they will be less caring about adapting to the new place (like me) which is bad since adaptation is very important. And since they don't care so much about adapting they might look for other solutions to relieve their negative emotions, one of those other solutions may come in form of killing others... To all parents out there, don't force your kids to move abroad, I don't want other kids to experience the same thing that I experienced.. And, as for locals who are unable to adapt to their living conditions, they must be facing a such a great hard ship that is beyond their coping ability, they need help from, first of all, their parents and family. If their parents and family are unable to help them, then it's time to look for helps from friends. If their friends are unable to help them, then it's time to get psychiatrist to help If psychiatrist can't help them.. Then the person need to be put into the asylum until healed. Sorry for the long post, and sorry for putting some personal things here ^_^
Wow, you have gone through hard times. I would understand if that was the problem in our country, but mostly the kids were born in Germany. But somehow they don't assimilate (hope it's the right word) into our commonwealth (I think this word is wrong, but I don' know the right one). It's more like they create their own "little country", for example like "Chinatown" or "Little Italy" in the US.
Well, a DEATH NOTEBOOK will make people do all sorts of crazy.
I'd be wrong if I said there wasn't a lot of pressure on youths in general. But I'd also be wrong if I said it was impossible to deal with it without doing something stupid like this. I'd wager that this kid was messed up in one way or another.
Wow, this guy is nuts!!!! If was suppose to kill someone, why didn't he kill them... He really need some love....I agree!!!
Hmm there are loads of random stabbings in UK too :S
Oi, just imagine if guns more readily available in Japan. There may be restrictions on firearms in the country, but that doesn't make certain people any less intent on carnage. There seems to be a few stories each year of someone grabbing a knife or a bat and having at it on random passersby on the streets of Japan. Has much research been done to learn why this is happening, and seems to be increasing in recent years?
what a waste of his life to go out and try to kill someone because of some life problems... he didnt even manage to kill a single person... now thats even more pathetic.. not that, that isnt a good thing...
agreed, if you have to ruin your life by something as stupid, desperate and futile as going on a murderous rampage you might as well go down in a blaze of glory and have at least a body count. I can't help but say that this kid is now officially King of the Losers for Failing at Failing at life.
I LOLed at Failing at failing in life...
The boy maybe suffering from high stress level at his age (maybe nobody care for him). He should really talk to other to find solutions...^^
Hm. Well ladies and gentlemen, what can I say...Only that; here's another story of how our society slowly but surely is falling apart, and not due to chemicals, or global warming,or nuclear weapons, although those are problems as well, but because we, humans, are destroying each other. Sad, but funny as well and to tell you the truth, I don't pity the guy who went and stabbed all these people, but I pity the society that made him that way. and yeah, the people he stabbed may or may not have been innocent, but I guess there's a lesson to learn from this article.
You know Maya, I don't really feel that way. If laws and customs weren't observed at all, this kind of event would be common... People would get berserk and commit the worst at any moment, for any reason/excuse. I am glad that humans have moral sense (when it is well-transmitted and not tainted with hidden evil ends), otherwise it would be mayhem everywhere, what you usually see in post-apocalyptic movies or full-of-crime cities in movies such as Robocop. And sadly, it happens in reality too.
And I meant by that that it has always existed, whether it be in "modern societies" or what was at the dawn of time. That kind of reaction is not to relate to any culture rather than the other, etc. but our feral instinct of destruction, still it should be righteously unacceptable nowadays. However, there will always be people who will fall into the cracks... Too much social expectation and pressure, difficult conditions of living, progressively diminishing resources... But not a reason to give up or snap. Let's fight for our future, always and forever.
Maybe we should start giving all students Death Notes. Who knows? We might be able to prevent some of these happenings.. LOL
I kinda agree... maybe he wanted to be Kira, but then he didn't have the Deathnote book. Now, he almost turned into a killer... but then again, if he had the book, we'd see people drop dead everywhere... Guess nothing is perfect then~
I'd want to go on a diatribe about the dangers of raising our kids wrong, the influence of the media on impressionable youth, bullying in Japanese schools and what the educational system is doing about it, all of which could have made him snap and lash out on society. He COULD be an unfortunate victim of all aforementioned circumstances. OR maybe this kid is just plain old bat-shite crazy and woke up one day thinking he was a samurai out to avenge his masters death.
LOL some samurai spirit possessed him?
Maybe he was going for a high score? o.O
at least he didnt commit suicide, which i think is the most selfish and weak thing one could do
"Set Laser's to Stun?" "Nah shit, Blast'em"
Well, at least this incident didn't suffered some casualties. Looks like this boy needs some anger management. (Think AGK for goodness sake!)
Good thing he didn`t carry a AK 47 or Ranged weapon
Seems like he snapped. luckily guns over there in Japan issn't that easy to get.
This youngster would have been able to kill tens of people if he were in the US. Think about it..
I dunno why anyone would do that... If he did snap, he shouldn't have to harm anybody right? Anyway, Danny take care and be safe! You never know if there's more of his kind leaving near...
Living* I engerish not good orhz...
Good thing your alright Danny O.O I hope that the police won't try to blame it on anime and manga.
good thing there's no new "nice boat" lately or "name that violent anime" for 2008
looks like he's gone postal!!!!!
like this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_postal
its a common part of culture over here =0
As you describe it, it sounds like the scene in The End of Evangelion, when Asuka kill the Eva-series... I don't know if say "so scary" or "so cool" XD
