Ita G Festa Photos

(Otaku(123)
Sun 2008/11/09 22:20
Planned to go to the Ita G Festa today but had so much stuff going on that I couldn't make it ToT.
Otasuke went along to take a load of photos (more at their site).
Some gorgeous Itasha on display and yummy looking dakimakura too.

Looking at these photos has made me decide to add "Itasha car stickers" to the list of merchandise for the Suenaga sisters in 2009. Next up will be the T-shirts though.

Agreed, I too like anime, but my interest in anime generally ends after the episode is over, I'm not fond of seeing random anime girls around or over objects I guess^^.

For the most part, I agree. The colors just don't match well. And most of the ones that aren't colored just look kind of lame. There are some that do look nice though, like the one the one with nekomimi girl and says "sprodesign."

Not too sure if I would, if I had a white car and could get a nice customized look by adding them, perhaps,... still, seem sa bit embarassing. Then again I drove around for years in an old timer VW beetle that was pink/purple. ^^;;
As it is, we're not allowed to put any decals or other on our company car, not even the company name.

Tons of "Lucky Star" themed cars though, very striking. I suppose the characters and series lend themselves well to such itasha themes.
An "Aria" one could be nice, can use red, yellow or blue color theme too depending on which company you choose.

The odd thing about Lucky Star themed cars though, if the photos here are any indication, is that most of them are the Hiiragi sisters as well. Thought we'd see more of Konata.

I am curious Danny. The Otaku were discriminated in the past right. So if you drove one of these cars around town now, would your car get scratched or anything? I'm quite sure you would attract weird stares? Or is it mainly for display purposes only.

Define "Stickers". I don't reckon I would put big character decals on the car, but I already carry little eX-D (from eX-Driver, for those who know it) decals just ahead rear wheel arches. So... stealth Itasha? I've yet to meet anyone on the street or at an event (aside from those I already know) that got the reference.

zomg YES! NEKKID ONES!

i wonder... if you have such a decal made out of, for example, an image from an artbook you own, then stuck onto your car. would that be copyright infringement? it's your car and your sticker, so it ought to be personal use? that's what you licensed when you bought the book, right? does an "all rights reserved" cover such use?

if I ever own a car I probably won't stick too big a sticker on it ^^; in Canada I can only imagine my car possibly getting vandalized ;_;

I'd never stick a sticker that large on my car, especially if it ends up covering windows, that's just a hazard. If it's something like a little bumper sticker, I'd totally have no problem with it, but something as large as that, I'll just pass. Also, it'd be way to embarrassing to put an anime sticker that large on my car in America. My car would get vandalized and broken into if I did that.

I don't think I'll be able to put a sticker on my car.

Unless it somehow blends with the car...those stickers really just stand out too much for me.

What's with the Saber doll? haha

Wow, cute cute cute
i saw the price of 1300 for an itasha. does the stickers cover the whole vehicle or 1300 is just 1 sticker inside the package?

HARD-ON WHUT RANKAAAAAAAA

I like the idea of itasha but some of these cars have no cohesion whatsover . . . the stickers just look slapped on and crowd each other. They should stick with a theme and not clutter so much. And definitely not cover the windows because how can you see outside?

Haha, I almost feel guilty for liking that as much as I do! Are the graphics they apply something that is available state side, or is this something the dedicated few make entirely themselves?

They are made by hardcore fans but since they are getting incredibly popular it's only a matter of time until they are commercially available. After the cars came the trucks and the motorbikes, now we have the bicycles and laptops ^^

I like the 1st one the most, but i dont think I would ever apply one to my car. Anime is popular in the U.S but not exactly mainstream and I think I'd become a lil self conscious over time about it. maybe a small one in the corner of a window though.....HMMMMM......

How do they make those car stickers? I know there's a YouTube video but it's only in Japanese. I'd like to make my own and stick one on my car.

I remember they were selling Little Busters itasha stickers at Gamers. Too bad they didn't have any other stickers for other series.

It's like anything other type of customizing in the respect that if it's done well, it's pretty cool, but if it's over done or the images are poor choices it looks absolutely stupid. Some of those cars are terrific, but too many of them are just tacky.

I'm putting the hiiragi twins when I have a car! How do you put those anyway? Are they stickers that you just put on yourself? Or do you have to pay someone to do it?

Moe-mobiles indeed...

but i really doubt the poll...

WOULD YOU REALLY stick anime stuff on your car?
a) You will be criticized by your friends and strangers
b) You will be praised by your friends and strangers
c) Nothing will happen.

Hmmm...
i say A

Not if you live where I live.

Besides, if you have a Ferrari and turn it into an Itasha (like one could see at Ita G Festa) I think you should not care about those whining who probably drive rather crappy cars in comparison.
