Bicycle lanes in Japan can be narrow but this... Via Neta.
haha! you have two choices, risk getting hit by a large metal object, or falling into a pit filled with piranha.
i also like how there's two bumps neat the end XD
That is not Japan is it ?
i was also thinking the same thing, it looks like somewhere in Europe.
Look at the houses, maybe it is Holland?
Lol, there´s a big chance that this pic was taken by our "neighbours" ;) from the Netherlands.
Holland? I dont see any windmills, sheep, or tulips. Now that I am done with the stereotype, I think this should be a motorcycle lane. Also, there should be a open web cam always filming this stretch just to see what happens. Id try to ride it on my motorcycle... once.
its looks like europe... poor Cyclists
Almost sure it's the Netherlands, I believe we're one of the few countries with yellow number plates on the cars
You are right, the Netherlands have indeed yellow number plates on the cars. Also the buildings are like europen style
Danny's word "Bicycle lanes in Japan can be narrow BUT this..."
This IS the 1970's Holland indeed^^ and a very small cycle lane indeed XD
DRAGUN, if you try and ruin your motorcycle, it will be "once = too much", I guess. Do I hear "Splash!"?
@D_Blade, Dost thou seem to suggest that I hath not aquired proper control of my internally combusted, electronic sequential port fuel injected, two wheeled, chain driver, auto-mobile? I doth Protest good sir! Seriously, I could do it. Anyone want to dare me? We had to do this (without the water) so I could pass the advanced motorcycle course, at high and low speed (low being just above tipping over sideways).
@DRAGUN: Nay my friend, I never doubted thy skills, but only had concern for thy safety, that is all.
In that case, good sir, I will wear arm bands of floatation, just to err on the side of caution. Good show!
Oh, wow! *laughs* And here I thought bicycle lines were issued for the riders safety ^^ ;D
Japanese license plates aren't yellow... so that can't be Japan right?
You've never been to Japan, have you? ;-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_license_plates
Rofl oh wow...Come to think of it id rather walk.
hahaha this one is great havent seen this one yet XD and that is one of the reasons why i dont have a Bicycle
hahahahaahha.....wow some people are crazy to do that legal XDD
What do you think was going through the minds of the people who painted that? If that were me I be laughing my a$$ off.
It would be even better if it was raised 2 feet above the regular car lane, and had three jumps in it.
It is such a narrow lane...haha...I will not be dare to use it with my bicycle but I guess I will rather walk on it(it can also be quite dangerous =P) .... ^^
if that was in singapore you'll need to: 1) know how to swim. no passerby is going to save you, damn apathy. 2) carry a weapon to ward of idiots who have nothing better to do after lunch than try to push you in.
Riding in that lane is asking to be pushed.... Who could ride there?
Part of a triathlon course? Saves transition time.
A lot of the time, even on regular sidewalks in Japan I can never remember what side is for bikes. Even with the big yellow line down the middle everyone winds up walking and biking wherever they like. I almost dreaded hearing a bicycle bell behind me when I was down there, because I wasn't sure which direction I should leap out of the way.
LOL! I'll walk.
That is definitely in The Netherlands somewhere, but it's a fake ;) Some-one must have painted the symbol himself :)
I second that!! Definitly somewhere in Holland. I think it is taken in Volendam. Annyway, nice gag to put a symbol like over there :P
That is a clear "disobey the law" invitation xD
For really daring people...
I would ride there if i was in a rush and the road was blocked. That's about enough space for the tyre to ride on; you only need more space for your arms and legs sticking out.
I wonder if there'll be a TV competition show out of it? xD
olympic cycling practice course??
oh they're probably filming Fear Factor: Holland Edition. ('~')
damn that's suicide
Someone in Holland with Photoshop on his PC and too much time on his hands...
I second that. It does look like a superimposed/modified pic. Anyway, at least there's one. I don't think i can remember seeing any bicycle lane here in KL...
I feel some improvised cold bath if you dare follow that path... Better have some swimsuit ready. Or it is that it's a shoppey. ^^
It's definitely in the Netherlands, looking at the license plates of the cars. ^^;
The answer to the problem in the picture: GRIND ALONG THE EDGE!
That's brilliant. How do you get rid of those annoying weekend peddlers? Like THIS of course. Now I wont have to run into them. just let them fall of on their own, once I push them over of course.
