Role Playing Maid Tours

(Japan(85)
Fri 2008/11/07 15:15
If the thought of just shopping in Akiba for goodies alone sounds boring then maybe you need to be a "hero" and have a maid play along with your new hero role?
Ecri is a business in Akiba where you can pay for maids to go out n about Akiba with you.
For example, if you wanted to be Amuro Rei from Gundam, the maid will play along with you and pretend to be Sayla Mass. This is not however a hanky panky service.

The price list is here which shows that you can hire a maid for 6,000 yen per hour.
You also have a choice of costumes for your guide too - maid, normal civilian clothes or cosplay. Service is limited to the Akihabara area only.

Does this sound like a service you would use?

As for the photo - taken the other night when touring/filming with the Silicon Valley folks.

Since the guys behind the scenes applied technology and science to their secret plot to horde all the worlds wealth...Actually i think its somewhere around 40% of the wealth is controlled by 1% of the population of the world. From a recent book called Web of Debt by Ellen Brown.

They have to pay for a staffed office (I bet offices in Akihabara are expensive). They also need to pay for having a huge collection of clean costumes. For all we know each girl might be followed by a civilian dressed guard for her protection. It all adds up.

Not something I'd bother with. For about $60 and I'd get a real maid to vacuum, dust and clean my home. I'd probably use that money if I was in that area to bu weird stuff that I can't get here locally.

gah, thought one could beat the system by sharing the cost with friends, but looks like they'd frown on that since they already have a separate price structure for 2 renting 1 maid at the same time -_- still... i guess it's a little cheaper to share - 4000 yen per person to share 1 maid, vs 6000 by yourself... hmmm...

I don't know about this. It's quite expensive but considering I would travel around the world and pay for a hotel in a quite expensive city, then I guess the additional cost isn't that high. It might even be financially sane to hire a guide if you start to look at what every hour costs you in Tokyo and how much time you can save by not getting lost and not searching for that special place you want to go.
If I know where I'm going (I'm usually well prepared and never gets lost) then it's a waste of money ^^

If I had the money, and if the girl was interesting to talk to (and look XD), then yes I'll definitely do it! Especially since there's nothing no such service even close to it in Singapore... T.T

I'd gladly pay to have a maid pretend to be C.C to my LeLouch any day.

I would so do that... X3

But knowing my luck, it would end with this conversation:
"I think that each day of the week gives off a different image."
This was the first time we'd had a proper conversation!
"For color: Monday is yellow, Tuesday is red, Wednesday is blue, Thursday is green, Friday is gold, Saturday is brown, and Sunday is white."
I can sort of understand what she is trying to say.
"Then that means, if we use numbers to represent the color, Monday is zero and Sunday is six, right?"
"That's correct."
"But shouldn’t Monday be one?"
"Who asked for your opinion?"

And she might even ask me if she has seen me before, as others have said that to me before. But time being a wibbly wobbly and such, I would assume we did meet in a different way or place or time.

According to my friend, the girls get payed hourly during work hours even when not guiding.
If they don't have an appointment to guide someone, they're out in the streets handing out pamphlets/leaflets etc. for advertisement.
Also, if they're the top guide/maid/sales etc, they get a big bonus.

Hahaha! I don't know why but that pic makes me laugh. It's as if the camera guy is pointing a gun at you while the maid demands you to give up all your belongings ;-P

No way! Not at Akibahara! That place is better enjoyed alone! I would be troubled with a strange maid following me for money. But... for 6.000 yen... I would invite her home for some interesting job, without clothes, maybe less expensive, no? ^_^

I'd do it just to have a good time with a girl/maid of my choice.
Maybe we could meet up after work and get her phone # ^_-

Debating whether the "maid" will be my Haruhi and me being Kyon... sounds painful to be Kyon but lots of fun for my Haruhi...

Ok, I emailed Ecri this evening and they said they will take business from foreigners, but could not promise if the English ability of the maids will be good. My only wish is there was a service like this where I can pay a girl to walk around with me to Chiyoda.

Also, according to http://www.ecri.jp/system.html, the maids are willing to go to other locations for an extra fee.
