Congratulations Danny. I wish the best for you and your company. You are right, it is always great to like your job, but if it's insecure and/or doesn't pay well... You never know. So having a safe alternative route of income is always welcome. Money, money, money~... It may sound a bit selfish, but you do need it for a living. Responding to clients' needs, adapting to them and taking initiatives are the keys to success! You've got a strong, large network that has been established with the years too. I feel you will be doing great... Wait, you are already, so keep it up! I don't mind if this site makes you earn money in return (maybe others would disagree, I don't know), we as visitors (regular or not) are here to learn something new from Japan and the otaku's way of life, exchanging ideas and opinions freely and maybe constituting a network of anime/idol fans (?)... As long as there are no stupid, offensive, hurtful-to-the-eyes pop-up ads, it's all right! So yes, don't hold back, grasp the present opportunity and spread your wings, soar the skies, explore the world on your own without any thoughts of fear and regret, fight for your future without looking back... Glad to hear you have made the big step forward by leaving Microsoft and focusing all your energy on your own business. You have the skills, experience and know your where your competition is falling short, I have no doubt you will be successful. I fail to see how people can say you are bragging. If you didn't have any work of your own - like this site - to show what you are capable of doing and no practical experience. Then I could understand their argument. Yes, you have to tell the world what you can do. If you don't do it no one else will. At the end of the day you can only measure your accomplishments and your failures by your own standards. You have no time for regret or failure for what should have been done. You have important work to do so I will shut up. It was so refreshing to read your words. I don't feel like a voice in the wilderness and see I'm being told many of the same things you have been told. I plan to be my own boss in the next 10 years. I want to spend the latter part of my life doing what I enjoy. Keep us up to date when you can. I'm always interested in hearing how things are developing.
