Another Century's Episode 2

Question: Do you have a spare change of underpants? If not, you'll need a pair before reading this so borrow some from a friend and make sure it has no more than three skid marks (and make sure those marks dont have any traces of undigested spinach or corn).

Another Century's Episode 2 hits the shelves on the 30th this month for the PS2 and from what I saw in Akihabara last weekend after meeting up with Asaki Yoshida, the game is looking very very nice indeed. The only thing I know about this series is that it's full of mechas that go around shooting seven shades of crap out of each other. The mechas are from anime such as Wings or Rean, L Gaim and of course Gundam.
The game features many Gundam units from Endless Waltz, G Gundam and Stardust Memory.

Get yourself along to the official site where you can see a few trailers in flash format.

Sadly, I doubt a NA release anytime soon, since only Gundam pops into most NA people's minds of the "mecha" universe. Yeah, Go JAPAN!

Lets hope that this game gets ported onto the PSP =| It would be nice to have another Gundam FRS like Gundam Battle Tactics in the PSP's sorry library. =|

Cheerio!

Wow I've made the forth skid-mark. the graphics must really be pushing the capabilities of the PS2. Also it seemingly reminds me of armored core.

At the risk of being a downer here, historically Gundam video games have been...ummm...not so good. Poor gameplay has always plagued the series. I would love Another Century to be the one that changes all of this!

Well, this game is made by FROM Software, makers of the Armored Core games, so gameplay, at least, has some quality that speaks for itself.

Hahahahahaha! Danny, I think you seriously have some kinda fetish regarding "skid marks". I've come across that word, god knows how many times, on your site (^_-)

Btw, the graphics look amazing! But gotta see for myself. Usually PS2 games are a bit jaggy...

Damn it looks so cool! No pics of Dragonnar? But yea, Pitting Macross and Gundam in the same games is freakin' awesome! Throw in Eva and FSS and it'd be perfect. Too bad it'd waaaay too expensive for the JP version here in the US. Gotta start saving then!

That looks amazing, I must find out a way to get that game here, a euro release seems highly unlikely.

It's even hard to get a Gundam (or gundam-related) game here even if it's a european release...

ACE 1 had some annoying system... I ended up enjoying more the Capcom releases (GvsZ, AvsZ). But ACE 2 looks cleaner, and has more mechs. Assuming there are changes (for the positive) in the gameplay, I'm really looking forward to this one.
Hey Danny: what about Climax U.C.? Any thoughts or impressions?

looks cool, going to get it once it hits japan , anyway Climax U.C has a annoying system , like the 機動戦士ガンダムSEED 明日は終らないへ kind of game play , lockon lock off, it uses a charging system to shoot weapons, ie for the 百式 its beam rifle for 1st charge , clay bazooka for the 2nd charge, and my favourite , the Mega Particle Cannon for charging till the 3rd :D

Other than that , its more like the Rengou VS Zaft game.

Ace1 was a really good game, just A Problem with weapon selections and a bit screwy targeting system. But the music and graphics are the best. Especially with hitomi simatani's garnet moon opening video. I really hope ACE 2 would improve the flaws of the original. It already has a better lineup and better graphics!

I think just being tied to the A.C.E. formula alone, gives this game a great deal of credibility. I own the original title; awesome game and therefore, I am -really- looking forward to importing this sequel.

Awesome blog, by the way.
