After hotaru no hikari, i wanted to find a good drama but still can't decide what, since Iryu 2 not so promising much, so maybe i will see this... since Sailor Mars in it (>o
i've heard of mop girl and read a synopsis but i haven't picked up a copy of it and maybe sometime i'll grab a copy ^_~
Sounds promising. Will check it out...
Thanks for the heads up on this one Danny. I passed over it at the beginning of the season, maybe I will reconsider it now. Cutie Honey is a tad bit disappointing... ^^; I'm having a hard time keeping up with dramas this season.
Edward, I dropped Cutey Honey too ^^;
in america a mop girl(or boy) is the person who cleans the mess that a person left in a viewing booth at a sex shop.
Plot sounds like a bad rip-off of Tru Calling. And even Tru Calling wasn't all that. Will probably watch it because of the cute actress. But I'll most probably settle for Photobooks of her if she goes gravure if not AV!
Why is time-travel become such a popular topic nowadays? It's becoming cliched.
The first thing that came to my mind while I was reading was "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo." But since I'm lacking some J-Dramas to watch, I guess I'll add this one to my list.
I love me some J-dorama, but my Japanese is so low I still depend on subtitles because I can't wait. Mop Girl looks great.
she is cute especially with her clumsy act..ha~
this looks nice, I'll give it a try ^^ been a while since I last watched jdrama.. none of the new ones interests me
Gonna give it a chance if I can find it in subbed format... though I normally don't like live actions though. Kamen Rider 555 and Gokusen are the only live action shows I'd watch.
Cute lead, but hasn't caught my interest. Dunno, not the biggest fan of dramas :(!
Question: Being that I don't live in Japan, I have the option to either purchase a really expensive satellite or d/l these shows via bittorrent et al. However, I'd like to know the legality of downloading these shows. My ISP recently forwarded a threatening letter from BayTSP (acting on behalf of Odex Pt. Ltd.) for downloading Gundam 00. I've since ceased to d/l Gundam 00. But before I seek legal advice, I was hoping someone here could enlighten me on the legalities of d/l'ing Japanese TV shows. BTW, I live in Australia.
She's really pretty. Sadly I'll probably never hear of that show again.

I recently stumbled on this show as well the only other J-drama I've watched is Densha Otoko last year and only because I accidentally clicked of a clip of it on YouTube. I watched a fansub of Mop Girl and it is pretty funny and quirky as was Densha Otoko.

Watched the first episode, but couldn't really get into it. It appears to be episodic, as if the conflicts begin and end within the same episode, and I don't enjoy that. Might watch one more episode since you say it's good. For this season I recommend "Dream Again." The storyline is powerful and the main actress Kato Ai is extremely pretty (though not in the chubby way that you like.)
i feel keiko kitagawa's acting in mop girl is still quite unpolished... but since this is her first lead role (sailor mars not counted :P ), ill forgive her... OT: how can u guys stop on cutey honey! Especially when Sister Miki honey flash transformation is so kick ass. :D
I'll pick it up and watch a few to see if I like it. Hope it is. Haven't had a taste of JDorama ever since HanaKimi ended
mop girls storyline sound similar to american series goes by Tru Calling. Anyone heard of it or even watched it ? Basically it the same thing the girl wake up on the same day of the accident and try to prevent it from happen. Apparently the series axed by the production house. It's a shame i know considering it a good and refreshing story. Well i wonder where i can get the sub version of this dorama hahaha !!^^
Mop girl is on my to watch list - I have to get around to watching it and writing up a summary :-|
Mop Girl looks and sounds fun to watch! It's got a lot of things I love like time travel, murder mystery and pretty girls!! ^___^ I haven't watched JTV drama since Love Generation and GTO, it's embarrassing I know! Will have to find out more where to get Mop Girl...
Awesome! It stars Sailor Mars (Keiko Kitagawa) from the live action Sailor Moon series. I knew she looked familiar.
Pretty good, but the clumsiness and stupidness sorta turn me off to it. Might watch it again.
Interesting, though there is an American show like this already, Tru Calling (and i think it got canceled too), only in the case of a girl she was working at the morgue. The girl is played by Eliza Dushku. Here is the link http://imdb.com/title/tt0364817/ These two shows sound very familier :-) but I'm sure japanese version is goood.
Say Danny, ever heard of the series, "Liar's Game"? It's a pretty fun watch, though the lead male character might a bit too cool for most people.
Wasn't this the premise behind the WB show True Calling starring Elisa Dushku?

Thank you! ^^- It's seems like a great Jdrama! ^^ And it looks very funny, I can't help it but give it a try :D Kitagawa Keiko.. XD Maybe this time I'll feel like watching her crying.. ^^" This character looks better for her ^^

Oh sounds like an interesting show. I also recognized faces from a drama I'm currently watching, Yama Onna Kabe Onna which I picked up because it has familiar faces (actually just a face) from Densha Otoko.
She looks a lot like the Filipino-Australian actress Iya Villania. http://www.iyavillania.com/
Looks good...I've been looking for a new JDrama to sink my teeth into..one thing I'm curious about; the guy in the Mopgirl12.jpg, wasn't he Abe Hiroshi's neighbor in "At Home Dad"? If it is, that'll certainly raise my interest a few points. He was fun to watch with Abe. T
hmm....looks good to me...i'll be watching ^^ thx for the info danny :))
Oooh, she was the cute girl in Tokyo Drift!
This reminds me of a current show in the States called "Journeyman," which has a man randomly traveling back in time to follow and save various people by interacting with them. Still, it sounds interesting, and I haven't had a good JDrama fix in a while... I'll give it a look!
Looks interesting. Are there english subbed episodes of this out? Loved Keiko in PGSM. It would be nice watching her play a different role.
Garbledone, this basically IS Journeyman. The premise is EXACTLY the same.
Actually, it's more like Tru Calling, a show that was on Fox a few years back. Eliza Dushku played a girl that worked in a morgue. When she ran across a body that was murdered it would ask for her help and she would wake up in her bed a day earlier with all the knowledge of the day she had already lived through so she could help the murder victim. Journeyman just randomly jumps back in time. Through out the episode he continues to hop forward along that persons timeline until he has helped them. And ultimately his time travel is becoming more detrimental to his life in the present. But Mop Girl does sound like an interesting take on a common premise.
I like it, currently watching subbed episodes (by Timeless-Subs). Well, I liked Keiko in PGSM, too :)
I actually really love this show, kind of a no-brainer kind of fun-fest, pretty comical to watch (particularly Shosuke Tanihara) too. And obviously Keiko is worth a watch ;) is it allowed to post so late after the last post, apologies if not lol
