that's one lovely and breath taking view from the building ^___^ i might add it to my visit list once i get to visit japan ^___^
This place is definetly on my "To Go" List. This place seems a great meeting place and it seems very comfortable and relaxing. I'd love to visit this place. (By the way great pictures Danny)
Love the interiors of these places. The only time I visited Tokyo Station was during my trip back home. Had to transfer to the Narita Express from there ^^; Just a quick question, don't these commercial buildings usually have the 'No Photography or I blast you to smithereens' sign? I remember seeing them at Tokyu Hands.. or do you secretly snap some of these pictures? :p
"BTW2, I'm going to be deleting images from the wallpaper pool soon so get them while you can." - nice trick, Danny! d(^_-)
That place looks amazing. Man, I HAVE to get to Japan sometime soon and visit my friends.
wow breathtaking!!! i would totally visit this, after shopping my but off, it would be a " to do list when im broke"
what a place my man...look great & really tempting...didnt have any of those here...esp. with lots of bunch of chairs/seatings other than at the restaurant...really appreciate if there were lots of chairs here...can easily got tired while walking inside a big shopping complex..
Thats a beautiful view! I'd thats some outstanding photography Danny, keep it up.
wow, my wife would have loved this place. too bad we weren't able to stop by Roppongi Hills while we were there. will add that to the must go list when we go back to Japan. ^^ btw was wondering if you could add the "Looking at the heavens from the bottom of the building." image to the wallpaper pool as well. (^.^)b
"ISO 800 with shutter open for 4.5 seconds + deep breath + balanced camera on edge of barrier." btw I forgot to mention that am impressed on how you risk life, limb and your Canon EOS to take those amazing shots. ^^ great work on the images again.
What ISN'T on my list of places to go? lol. Seriously, if I ever go to Japan I am never returning home.
Very modern, me like. Although I won't ever go to Japan. But the scenery looks indeed amazing.
Gosh.. The Scenery so Perfect n Wonderful!! Danny take me there =D Is it u or wife taking those picture? it is Awesome! Kireii da nA..
I probably wouldn't visit Japan unless I have a local friend. The building is really nice, and the Menus are making me hungry
wow, that's very nice indeed. do they provide wifi services? with that many chairs, my gf could go shop and i won't mind sitting down with my laptop to surf the day away ^^
Great shots taken danny. Especially the photo of "Looking at the heavens from the bottom of the building"
Too many things to see in Japan... I don't think I would go to a place where I would feel small, poor, and insignificant. XD We had 25 days to visit Japan... MAN, we couldn't even visit some pretty famous stuff... like Asakusa-Kanon temple. T_T At least I got to go twice to Akiba. Once with the whole family, the second time alone. For what? Of course, to see some electronics and cellphones... NOT Anyways, I'd probably go there if I lived in Japan. The pics are beautiful Danny! Was there a Ginza article yet? I felt soooo sooo poor there. And so common... lacking elegance and all. :P
*Gasp* That looks awesome! One question though, where I live you can go to nice, elegant places with nice, relaxing restaurants, but they generally charge you an excesive amount of money for food (and I'm talking about tiny portions of "fancy, but not so special" dishes) How does that work in Japan? Was the restaurant's food way more expensive in Shin Marunoichi Building?
Wow, that is just absolutely breathtaking. I will definitely put this on a list of places to visit next time I go back to Japan, which I think is just before the 2008 Olympics because my girlfriend and I are going!
I remember this building while I was jumping off and on the stations on circle train line. Think it was the yamanote line? Anyhow, I hopped out of tokyo station and walked around taking pics of the surroundings. Truthfully I didn't know what this building was for, so didn't stay too long. Maybe I should have explored it a little more...
Wow, it looks fantastic there. The design and lighting inside the complex looks great. Nice to see lots of comfy armchairs to sit on too. Is this recently built? Every time ive been near Tokyo station on my trips, there has been a huge construction going on. I guess they finished it ^_^ Looks great there, though for actual shopping, it looks too swanky for the likes of me :-P
Me again - do you think you would be able to take pics this good on your Canon IXUS/ IXY? Does it have a manual exposure time setting? I could do with a nice, small easy to use camera that can actually perform ok in low light.
Wow, absolutely breathtaking Danny~! Thanks for sharing, I'm planning to visit Japan (Tokyo mostly, but my friend will likely be teaching english elsewhere) beginning of April next year, have no money saved yet, but I'll be there if it's all I manage to save up for ^^;; As for photo taking without a tripod, I've been looking up lenses to compliment the Nikon d40 I want to get one day, some of them have 'VR' (Vibration Reduction), Canon has IS (Image Stabilization). You can find out more here http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/image-stabilization.htm Hope it interests you :3
Woah, nice pics, especially the last one looking at the sky. Not doing any good for my Japan withdrawal i'll tell you! lol
Excellent pictures, Danny! How many did you take and how many came out well in the end? ;)
Keats, Most came out blurry ^^; Koshiko, No budget for new lens right now ToT Andy, Probably not but you will still get fair results. Darsel, Just a bit more than average but not that much. XSportSeeker, Yes there was ^^; Windbell, Didnt notice any here. Seth, Good question. Shall bring my macbook to find out. Sky, Me take photo. Marvin, Done ^^
I know how you feel, I rarely have a budget for anything though lol. You can keep the link for future reference though, I was amazed at how much info and tips I picked up just by browsing for a few hours on the site =o. I even bought the Canon A550 he recommended, it was on special at a local shop just today! x3
sweet. looks like an indoor resort.
Have to go... have to go!!
Ahhh~ Those photos are breathtaking! I should have gone there when I was in Tokyo earlier this year! Zannen deshita!!
I would like to visit Tokyo. That building in particular? Perhaps.
Cool pictures, I just can't wait till I visit there (Food... ohhh glorious food!) :D
I have to commute through the basement of that building every day to get to work. My building is the one behind it in the second picture. The underground connection from Yaesu Chikagai to the shin maru building is actually bigger than some airports, and I have to walk it every day :( It is a very cool building, though the Marunouchi building next to it offers better views from the 35-36th floors which you can go up to for free!
うわ!凄くキレイ!! 僕は東京に住んでいながら、まだ行ったことがありません。この写真を見て行ってみたくなりました~。
I looooove these types of architecture. Gives me a warm feeling. Definitely worth a visit!!
Those are really nice pics Danny! The last time I was in Japan was many years ago in that same situation. It was at night near a place called takashimaya? it was so beautiful! I wanna coem again! BLARGH!!!!
Wow, thats one cool place! I can imagine myself studying in some corner there with a cuppa tea ^^
This is one of the first places that I visited in Japan. It was a great place and I especially loved all the benches and chairs. I can never find a place to sit in Tokyo. Its seems like they purposely avoid putting anything you can rest on in public which is really inconvinient when you have time to kill.
Great place to meet and hang out with friends ^^. I'll hold you up to taking me somewhere local the next time I visit Japan Danny lol.
A must-see place indeed and magnificent photos you took there. However it looks too posh for the likes of me... (My rational self has spoken again...), but it would be definitely someplace to spend some hours in.
Indeed a great building where I would spend some time. Gotta say that I really like the trendy design interior of the building, they really did a great job on that. And the view from the 7th floor is very nice as well. ^^
you know, if anime didnt exist i'd still go to japan just for the cities...its so bright and colorful, and shiny (mmm, ADHD...), heck, its the thing that got me first interested in japan >.
WOW! Love the entire look of the insides of the building. This'll surely be one of the first few places I'll visit when I get to Japan. From the pictures alone, it already looks very relaxing. And the seats are all nice. Wish we had one of these over here. ^^
Nice pictures! I visited this building last May and although it was very pretty, I didn't find it interesting.
i seems very "in" but expensive though.. i will try to go there this christmas before i attend C73~
I would definitely visit this place when I go to Japan someday. :D
