Shibuya Dance Trooper

Shot straight after the YouTube Mix party. Hector and I walked down to Shibuya from Omotesando and had planned to shoot at different locations.
Unfortunately something totally unexpected happened...

During the first dance attempt in the Hachiko crossing, the strap that holds the cod piece down snapped and I had an elastic strap dangling in the wind between my legs - t'was so embarrassing!

Quickly retreated to a quiet spot where I used tape in the utility belt to hold down the strap. This meant however that later dance sessions severely restricted leg movement. This also meant that we didn't get to shoot as much as we wanted. I didn't get to do the running man!

I asked a few people already and many of them much prefer the previous Akiba Dance Trooper. Which do you prefer?
If you have any crazy ideas of what you would like to see next, let me know - does not have to be dancing ^^;

Any chance we could get a higher res version of these to download in the future. (direct link or bitTorrent perhaps) YouTube is great and all, but with a back drop like that and dance moves like yours, we need to see it in all its high res glory.

Great stuff, keep up the great work man.

Great additions to your dancing repertoire. Try adding some moonwalk in there. I'd suggest break dancing, but I think it'd be hard to do in armor, and there's the whole issue of breaking your neck.

Very fluid moves (You did improve a lot since last time! Congrats!), catchy music, great ambiance. Too bad not many people spontaneously wanted to dance with you this time; this is the only thing I regretted when I saw this video compared to the other one.

At any rate, keep it up! I'll be waiting for your next one.

-Question Time- I wonder if you would try DDR or if you already did (if so, how you felt also).

Danny, my respect for you just went up 10X!

Awesome video - made me chuckle on this grim and bleary monday morning!
Some great moves there - love the robo-moves towards the end. Nice to see the shibuyans getting in on the act too. I can imagine the embarrasment as your cod piece malfunctioned when you were posing for all those ladies! You sure it wasnt caused by mokkori?

Im surprised 'da law' didnt intervene - stuff like that in the middle of the hachiko crossing is frowned upon, though the crowds didnt mind n__n

Nice one, sir.

You know what did it for me on the first one Danny? The old school funk! No one expects to see anyone dancing to earth, wind, and fire these days, so it was pretty sweet. EVERYONE I showed it to cracked up and loved it. It would be great if you ran away through a crowd of people.... followed closely by a bunch of Jedis. You might get the same look that guy gave you in the subway for the first vid.

I like both Danny.

This one is great because you have some good move and know what looks good. Also the various locale change is a nice touch. Would love to see a high res. version too. This original is great simply because you used a classic piece of music.

Still say you need a backup maid dancers. Also a cutie dressed as Mirai would be nice. Sure you have thought of that already. ^_-
