I could accept if they sell it from 15-16 year old, but 5 or 8 is just too much. I think extreme loli should be kept in 2D, and not with real children. Might be a good think to lure in and catch real pedophiles.

This is shameful!! Some really don't have morals. I already didn't like the principles of lolicon, but I would tolerate it at worst. Here it goes way too far. I certainly hope that that kind of underground network gets dismantled and fast. Who knows what would happen... This can't go without a suitable punishment for those who are responsible for that!

Me myself I dont mind a bit of lolicon but in this situation where gurls as young as 5y/o are in bikinis??????? that is just wrong... I am to understand that lolicon takes quite a sizeable piece of the pie in japanese culture, as most japanese ladies are pretty petite (which makes them extremely cute) but itleast they are legal or at least most of them are or at least the ones that I know of are *wink wink* ^_^' I am not totally against child modelling, the market will always have a place for kids who want to model but pushing them to the point where they have to ewar bikinis & flaunt their cute looks is in a way crossing the line. I dont think the parents fully understand whats going on

Whats crazy about the Lolita magazines is that they are available EVERYWHERE in Japan, such as RIGHT NEXT to a Kindergarden, in one one case at least (Kichijoji, Tokyo). Another thing seems to be that the majority of Japanese women have NO IDEA publications like this even exsist. Whoever left the comment: "Throw them to Yakuza I say!" That makes no sense. Why would the Yakuza beat up their own customers?!? The Yakuza are heavily involved in the Japanese pornography / Lolita / Gravia DVD industry. My guess is that some people here have purchased an A.V. at one point or another - consider it a guarantee that a percentage of that cash went STRAIGHT to a Yakuza group. Thats just how Japan is, you have to get used to it....

The parents are just normal Japanese people who have a pretty daughter, that they are trying to get her into modeling, TV commercials etc. The vague thing about the said publications - is that they are "Innocent" photographs. The STRANGE and WRONG thing about these magazines , such as "CREAM" (really), is that very young looking 18-year-old models posing NAKED are mixed up with the pictures of the 11, 12, 13 year-olds stting aroung in Bikinis. The other thing to keep in mind when thinking about this subject is remembering that there is NO traditional Sexual "Morality" in Japan. Sex is viewed as functional (making babies) or as fun (having sex). But it is never considered "bad". Japan and Japanese people do NOT adhere to what I call the "Judeo-Christian" moral code. THe christianity rate in Japan is 0.01%. The Lolita thing is stupid to me personaly , as girls in Japan ages 18-29 all look about 18 anyway.

Marcel, keep in mind that unlike real children, drawn lolis tend to have body proportions attributable to mid/post-pubescence. For example, if you look at the screenshots in the most recent Sky Girls post, you'll see that the loli characters still have older characteristics such as wide hips, long legs, and sleek faces. Such characters are basically impossible fantasy creatures like elves, which leads me to believe that most fans of drawn loli are closer to xenophiles or ephebophiles, instead of pedophiles as so often assumed.

Yeah, this is one of those scary things, especially in this Christian-ized yet ironically sexualized world. Decades ago, even the 1940 or 50s, I doubt a little girl playing at home or the beach in a bikini would've been viewed through the global filter of exploitation. Then again, you could always argue that parents "exploit" their children in sports, TV, film, music, and beauty pageants. If a family must choose between a financial poverty that's moral, or a financial stability that's less moral, which should they choose? Or maybe flip around the perspective... From the eyes of a smart 7-year-old girl playing with her 7-year-old friends, how do they see it? If they choose it, they probably see nothing other than having fun or even some fame, with little idea of the scary world around them. Or with clever girls, they might believe they're helping out their parents' lives as well. So whose view do we support? Damn, that's tough.

alright... here's what i think about it. yes, it's disgusting when the child is RAPED... but what about when a child leads a parent or close adult friend into sex? what if a child is exposed to sex in an everyday environment, IE kissing, hugging, and other such things in the media, and they want these things? the child will get curious, and who can ignore a sad little girl's face when they want something? imagine it one moment. you're friends with one of these children, then YOU'RE asked for a kiss by them. at first you will deny it... and they'll get sad, maybe even cry. you'll end up feeling bad, and wanting to make it up to them, and you'll give them their first kiss. eventually this kind of thing escalates into a sexual activity. the only thing that messes a kid up out of sex, is when an adult that they look up to walks to them and says "NO! WHAT YOU DID IS DISGUSTING! YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER DO THAT! THAT IS WRONG!" after a... lets say 10 year old girl has sex... what's their inclination? "i did wrong.." and that.. THAT is what tears a child up. its YOUR prejudice of the situation, especially when the girl wanted it. then after this, the girl will be depressed, and grow up thinking "i'm a slut" "i'm a whore" and that, in essense, is EXACTLY what they become, becaus those thoughts ATTACK them... and if they become a rape victim, they dont know how to defend themselves. does anyone here at least understand that? if not, then i've wasted my time. there's also the fact of some hentai on the internet, OVERDEVELOPED little girls, and UNDERDEVELOPED legal girls... so how can you even trust hentai? enjoy EVERYTHING about hentai, in that case (AND ANIME!!!!) and stop bitching about the small things.

The poll dosent make much sense Danny - many of these publishers & studios are funded or owned by Yakuza groups. This is part of the way they make an "honest" living nowadays. (ever since the heavy crackdown on gambling & prostitution) There used to be an amazing lecture on Japanese Yakuza groups on youtube, but they were sadly deleted, as they were obviously deemed too sensitve and explicit in detail about the Yakuza's role in DAILY life. Shame...

First I'd like to make a quick observation about this particular topic. I've actually taken the time to sit here and read all these posts. I find it interesting how all the posts from people who are are completely against Loli in any form usual leave posts that sound somethine like "that's sick. not right" yet the posts from those of us tolerant of Loli or fans of Loli are the only ones that seem educated and actually take the time to explain themselves.
Now, I've read a few people say things like "I've seen some people say that they like loli in anime but not for real, it's the same thing and you're a sicko". NO... it's not the same thing... in fact it's very different. When using the term fantasy in reference to Loli it's not concerning the wants and wishing of the reader but infact the fantastic or fictional nature of the work. Cowboy Bebop could be considered a fantasy yet let me assure you that no ammount of time with Faye Vallentine could make me fantasize about having the same fate as Spike Spiegel. Being ficticious in nature (which is made obvious by the fact that it's drawn in pencil ¬.¬) puts the reader at ease and allows them to enjoy what they find appealing about Loli. Here is where real life pedo strays away because the audience to such activity is fully aware of the reality behind the situation and are most likely taking pleasure in the fact that they are watching some real life little girl in sexual activity, willingly or by force.
I've seen a few of you ask what the appeal of Loli is anyways, saying that it's like "saying a bud is more beautiful that a flower" and in someways, you're right. Now before I continue, I'd like to state that I am simply a casual Loli reader, I don't really go out looking for it but should I come accross it I will read it. See the endearing thing about reading a FANTASY/FICTIONAL sexual situation concerning young girls is simply that being so young these FICTIONAL characters come accross as completely and totally innocent which when combined with a sexual situation, makes it feel less dirty because the characters are not having sex simply to fullfil their carnal desires, but instead to simply satisfy their sexual curiousity and open themselves the world of sexual pleasure

Unlike loli in animes, this is scary, the photographers should be arrested, and stores closed. The main reason is because the pics, even if took in an "innocent way", might eventually cause great harm to those kids. And stuff like this is not a Japan-exclusive thing. I think people picture Japan as a country that has this abnormal problem with pedophilia, but the truth is people are just impressed with Animes. Western countries has a lot more problems related with Child Abuse and prostitution. But they hide it, or turn them into statistics... which is even worse. But back to the topic, it's also an interesting issue to look into. What's the difference between a photografer that will shoot 8year olds and sell the pics, and a dad/brother that takes pics while on vacation on a beach on his daughter/sister, then posts it on a blog? It all comes on intentions... something pretty hard to judge. Also, more closely now: What's the difference between a professional photografer that takes the pics and sells it to pedophiles... or to stores that ressels to pedophiles... and a professional photografer that takes the pics for the summer line on a department store? Is this a moral thing, a religion related thing or what?
