don't think 2D is a better substitute for a real sex with 3d girls. I'll take those idols any day, provided they're willing to accept me. lol!
2D and 3D for teh win btw, thats a really nice doujin
I don't get it... That's like asking a puppy, do you prefer a picture of bacon bits, or a real bag of them? [It's BACOOOOONNN! hehe] I would imagine they all prefer the real thing, but they are either cowards or they are just giving up. I gave up drinking and smoking years ago, but I'll be damned if I ever give up on the ladies. :]
"Young men not having sex is one of the main reasons. They don't want to get hurt (dumped by human girls) so never advance past 2D girls." (One of the reasons why Japan birth rate fell?) As for the reasoning line above, I always felt that way, but I also considered females' feelings. I'm also open to go for 3D whenever. I'm ready now. Hope it's not too late. *laughs and sighs*
More and more ero games are becoming 3D! Too bad hi-res VR glasses are still too expensive :(
For the most part i like 2D.... But i like the occasional 3D should they look good ^^;
The bacon analogy is not quite right, since obviously the only thing you want with a piece of bacon is to eat it. Therefore there is absolutely no way for drawn bacon to be superior to real bacon. Girls on the other hand are different. 2D girls can be drawn to fit one's ideal of perfection. The fact that they are forever unreachable is a trade-off, and some people find it to be a good deal. That is why they prefer 2D to 3D. And on another note, I consider idols to be closer to 2D. They fulfil certain criteria of a "perfect" girl and at the same time are almost as unreachable as 2D girls. It's the same basic mentality.
No wonder Japanese women are so frustrated.
well i'm married...so long past 2d... but ocasionally like to take a peak..:D
I've never thought about this... I'm too busy figuring out how to play Golden Sun :P Seriously, I'd never thought about that. Too busy thinking about how to get a job as a manga artist to bother. But I'll get a 3D one someday.
I've been hurt by females before.. it's true that I don't want to experience that again, but there's more to it than just that. People have more developped tastes these days, and expect the same from their partners. Expectations are higher while demands are more specific. Of course that makes it harder to find a suitable partner. There are no girls that enjoy anime, games and my music the way that I do. We wouldn't have much in common.. we'd do our seperate things. I voted for 2D only. I'm not against 3D, but I just don't see it happen unless I give up everything I love.
Well 2d is nice but I do like 3d girls more.
Nop, never been into that 2d girlthing. i like them touchable and actually responing ;)
Personally I prefer 3D.. and 2D is just a hobby! My conversion rate: One 3D >> 100GB of 2D *hehe*
No doubt from a point of a gravure idol fan, I always prefer 3D.
like blackster, i like my women warm and moaning. though sometimes the perfect woman is always in 2D - guess you cant have both.
The question is -- Where do RealDolls and CandyGirls fit into all of this??
3D girls in pictures on the internet aren't much different than 2D girls drawn in pictures on the internet. Still unrealistic and unattainable. Yes, there is a slim chance one could meet up with an idol, porn star, etc. but it's very unlikely. That being said, 2D is cool as long as you don't give up real 3D.
both 2D and 3D, but more on 2D haha :D
2D for life. I would post a Yamazaki-rant from NHK but I don't feel like finding the novel right now.
Ok. If guys in Japan can appreciate a real girl in Japan. I sure can, if any girls are feeling lonely, give me a call. Seriously, you guys need to get to the baby making, because if the present generation is going to be the last generation a lot of us wont have anymore cool toys to play with. Hurry UP! Your population is on the decline.
HAHA! i'm w/ Wingfoot on this one. I'll be in Japan come June '09 for a LIMITED TIME ONLY. BUY NOW! :D
@wildarms do you mean this pic? http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/uncyclopedia/images/thumb/f/f5/CrossdressingYamazaki.jpg/316px-CrossdressingYamazaki.jpg
I choose both for variety :p and I can't live without either one.
Most people will never admit they prefer 2D to 3D, even to themselves... much less on a blog. I don't have a girlfriend now... I have maybe some possibilities around, but also very very very high standards. Some girl-friends said I'll end up dying alone because of this. But I treat 2D and 3D like completely different things. What I feel watching 2D animation will never be achieved by 3D girls, and the experiences I had with 3D girls will never be achieved on 2D animes. I love both, and unfortunately there can be times you can only choose one. For now, I'm enjoying 2D. And though I really miss 3D sometimes, I'm not in a hurry, or desperate to change the situation...
At the moment, i dont care much either way, though i probally watch 2-d girls more than 3-d girls in tv and on the com. Should a 3-d girl come along i wouldn't hesitate to jump on, but i'm not gonna go out of my way to make it happen.
i enjoy both 2D and 3D but i'm more inclined and enjoy more to 2D girls ^___^
2D girls 3D figures what more can you ask?
I prefer 3D. I love 2D but 3D idols would turn me on more then 2D drawings.
Much as I like 2-D girls, they don't hug back, yeah? ^_^ Guys shouldn't be afraid of taking chances with real women.
@D_Blade: Lol, its never too late! Its sad to hear people saying they dont think they will find a REAL (I just cant call them 3D, sorry) girl that likes the same things they do (Keats). Maybe its just the area where I live, but my gf loves anime and even gets excited about me painting and working on my models. We also both like riding motorcycles (yes, she has her own) and even like similar food. It took a loooooong time to find her, and I had to date a LOT of girls, but I did. So.. dont be afraid, who cares if it doesnt work out? There are tons (or tonnes in metric) girls out there just waiting to be seduced. Plus, the sex with a real girl is soooo much better than 2D. Sorry, but those of us who have had it know its true (unless they are bad at sex.. which happens unfortunetly.. sigh.. some girls just need training)
word up Dragun haha
Fo Schizzle LyGuy!
3D for the win.
All this talk about "fear" and being afraid is rather insulting. I've only liked cartoons all my life*, and I'm pretty certain I wasn't afraid of being rejected when I was six years old. If I live my life the way other people say I should, it wouldn't be fair to whoever I end up in a relationship with. *I associate this with being raised by television.
I love both... What more can I say?
So, ero-manga etc. are an effective birth control device? Interesting. (Incidentally while I was stooging about in Akihabara the other week I saw a few Otaku with girlfriends... okay, they weren't exactly Hermes from Train Man but it was kind of interesting to note).
@DRAGUN: What is the most annoying part is to see one you like being closer to you with time but already being with someone else. I never charge blindly and I'm not a partisan of cheating. The hardest part but the best is to go alone, search without forcing self and suffer a bit. ^^;; Compatibility of hobbies is secondary, unless it becomes an open source of conflict... Better be sure of certain details before proceeding into a long-term relationship. Otherwise it comes back at you and everybody should know that can hurt quite a bit. I'm glad you're having a happy life and that you've found the one. Really. @Foxtail Dreamer: Candygirls and affiliated = Pseudo 3D? XD
By the way, a hint for all males here. Girls love guys who can manage a household... Best would to become a cleaning fairy. The macho man archetype is slowly dying as mentalities change, and I agree wholeheartedly to that train of thoughts. ^^; More tips & tricks available. Just ask for them. ;)
It`s true that 2-D girls never hurt or betray you, but never lose hope on 3-D people, not only gils. Negate this is negate yourself. Be freak like mad, but never lose control of reality...
And, D_Blade, you`re absolutly right.
I'd have to go with 2D here. This part of the world seems to have not yet caught up to modern interests, so I just plain don't understand most people around here. Everyone here has such simple interests. Seriously, go on any dating site and look up girls in Kelowna, BC, Canada. Every single one of them will have nothing but camping, horseback riding and "hanging out" in their interests...how plain. >.> I've managed to drag a good portion of my town a little closer to nerdiness, but they still don't go much further than playing Super Nintendo and watching Dragonball.
Wow, this is a tough one ^^; I'd personally go for 3-D, but not just anything 3-D but someone I actually like and is a lot to my likings (wich is probably why ill be alone for the rest of my life^^). On the other hand, I can also fall in love with a 2-D girl (Yoruichi i.e.) but thats different and not real love. Yet I would consider it more powerful then a 3-D love. An otaku's life is a wierd and lonely thing, but I cant prefer anything over it.

thats a hard one to annsser.... I like a bit of both but then again.... I more intrested in the flesh and blood ones..... remeber guys an idol mind is a dirty one... I think thats the saying.....
I would rather go with a 3-D girl and hope she understands my 2-D girl fetish lol, she might have it as well.
I really like 2D girls, but i will never miss my chance with a 3D one, specially the ones in the idol section
btw, i forgot to add this to my last post... I WANT THAT YURI DOUJIN~ *heart heart heart* lulz XDDD
I think its less about preference and more about common interest. If I can find a 3D girl who accepts me collecting figures and playing eroge all day, then maybe I would consider it. Because if said 3D girl starts spewing nonsense about me "enjoying" the company of 2D women to much, then shes obviously gonna have to move out. Im not changing what I believe in for so called "Love"
I'm a 2D guy at times, but I'll stick with the 3D :)
Figures are as 3-D as it gets for me. And I like it that way.
I prefer real women. :)
hmmm... 2d girls and idols are about one in the same in my book. its all about fantasy really if you think about it... the 2d girl or the girl you will only see in pictures or on video most likely. ...and i don't want to hear this crap about otaku not being able to get girls... that is all in your head. i've never had a problem. how about going out of the house every now and again and popping in at the local pub with the rest of the world. come on... abortion and birth control are headed down!!! come on guys, lets see what we can do to knock that number up a bit (lol)!!!
That is a lol fact. We guys do have it tough. As for me, one knows when 2D is better than 3D and vice versa. Though, shouldn't it be 4D since the girls we know "grow" with time? It makes life good, right, amirite? I say go ahead an embrace the next girl you see to remind you how good it is to be able to have both. At first there was nothing, then there was bust (and other goodies, lol).
Any chance I can downgrade from my current 3D to 2D?
@SPaulMac. yes, however we require a 15% restocking fee plus a $175.00 early termination charge.
djet0, got to secure the relationship first (and many fail at it), then you can consider reaching the "higher level". Think Maslow and you'll understand my words. ;)
Though I roll both ways, my preference is slightly towards 2D girls. Perhaps that'll change once I triggered an 'event' somewhere, based on the decisions I've made throughout my chosen story arc. PS: I want that Code Geass doujin.
@D_Blade: I agree, liking someone that is dating someone else is hard, and cheating and unfaithfulness is no way to start a relationship, or end one for that matter. Although, sometimes one must realize when someone is worth it and steal them away. I have done this, usually to the benefit of all parties involved. It seems crude, but fate only takes you part way, the rest is up to you. I agree that there are many intrinsic properties in a relationship that cannot be summerized by common interests. I have dated many women that do not share my hobbies or interests. This does not prevent a certain attraction that can sometime
