The plot in a nutshell: The Hardian civilization of creatures existed on Earth way before humans and remained dormant under the seabed until they suddenly started to attack the human race.
The humans form NIDF (Neo International Defense Force) and develop a fleet of battle vehicles to fight the Hardians...

Kissdum Engage Planet is already into its 12th episode but I only picked it up recently so can only talk about what I've seen up until EP 4.
Up until EP4, we see how the main character gains the ability to regenerate his body and fuse his flesh with weapons of any kind turning him into a living weapon. He is also the last hope of the human race.
There is a shocking turn of events when it is discovered that a human has betrayed her own kind and plays a big part in the Hardian invasion...

The first episode is intense with a lot going on. It covers some background on why and how the Hardians appeared, some character development/intros and a lot of battle scenes with the Hardians invading the cities (much like the invasion scene in Independence Day).
There is a lot of eye candy to be had in this show with a lot of well implemented CG being used on the vehicles and Hardian monsters. The music is enjoyable too - some orchestral, some groovy. Some of the girls are nice too ^^;

While the name "Kissdum" sounds incredibly silly, you will (or will not) find a good quality anime underneath. I hope the later episodes are just as good.
Recommended to folks who would like to watch a mix of GITS, Independence Day and Starship Troopers. You can watch the trailer in the Otavids section.

Folks in Japan can watch Kissdum on TV Tokyo every Tuesday night at 1AM.

When I heard about this "Kissdum", I didn't look any further cause of the title.
The screenshots look interesting and I will give this a shot once Death Note ends (next week). Too many animes to comprehend now ^_^

When I first read the title I was confused of what it was about. At first I was thinking some robot name but now I just don't know. x.x

I'll give this series a DL once I find the time for more different anime. :D

The animation gets dodgey from episodes 3-6. However I was extremely impressed with the smooth animation from the first episode coupled with the wickedly cool mecha designs (reminds me of updated Valkyries). The pacing still continus to jump around and go fast so I can't complain yet as long as there is action with those wonderful mechs included.

I must say this entire series reminds me of Scryed + Starship Troopers.

Looks interesting. I read a little about this before. This is supposed to be a test run, in terms of technology and animation, for Shoji Kawamori before he hits the new Macross series, right? I may have to check this out since I'm not currently watching any new mecha anime at the moment and I need my mecha fix. I can't wait until October.

Crazy name. The plot seems good even if it seemingly lacks originality.
I like the artwork.

Like Kirakun, I will give it a try when other series will end.

Will watch episode 1 to see if it piques my interest.

It's decent but not great. The mecha may be cool but they appear in only a couple of episodes, about 2-3.

The only thing keeping me watching are the cute harem in Shu's head.

THis looks really good. ANd the animation style reminds of that of the style in "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone" Complex or/and "Darker than Black"

I will definately begin watching this...only as soon as i can find the episodes -.-

I've seen the first few episodes and it really is fun to watch. Looks like some of the original fansubber groups drop this, for what ever reason. I'm sure it will be picked up again and made available for all the non Japanese speakers out there in the world.

Well what do you know, the fansub group doing Kissdum Engage Planet had already been added to the custom tailored global fansub search engine ANIMETREEHOUSE.COM ! You can find it there! I think there are seven episodes out, from what I could tell. Hate to double post but I know you guys wanted to know plus couldn't pass up the shameless self promotion!!

That's because the fighters are designed by Macross' shoji kawamori. Sad that this anime's production is having problems hence the low quality episodes.

I watched 4th episode yesterday. First two episodes was good but 3. was unwatchable, it just jumped in time and space(like in game trailer, couple pices made in one), and 4. episode was a recap :/ but it was made nice. Other thing I don't like is this fairy dancing around a bullet(Sailor Moon come to my mind).

Apparently, this anime went through quite a troubled production schedule, which the air dates kind of show. There have been several weeks already when an ep simply didn't air and it wasn't because of sports coverage...

Overall, I don't know what to think of it. The show is ok but there are better ones out this season so this one gets squeezed out.

then, as i read and read, i realised the value of an old adage: no judge a book by its cover.

Its annoying when the production team has problems. The particularly bad early episode of Gurenn Lagann made me drop it for a while.

Ep 4 is a recap of the first 3 eps! I'm getting really bad wolfs rain vibes now (remember the infamous 4 recap eps in a row?)
