It's been snowing quite a bit in Tokyo lately (last night too) so thought we'd take a look at some of snowy Tokyo.

We were having a dry winter (no snow for Christmas), but now its been cold and snowy for the last couple of days.
Although there's snow over there in Tokyo it doesn't seem that cold. Here, its the wind. Windchill always hits you like a wall. It's about -24C right now. Unless I'm goin snowboarding or somethin I'm stayin INSIDE.

Unh.. I prefer summer much more than winter, actually - I prefer sweating than freezing. >_<

Winter wa daikirai! ^^

But, maybe with a little bit of adaptation I may come to term with winter..

"Mon pays ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver" This is a quote from a well known local poet and singer songwriter, Gilles Vigneault. In english it pretty much mean "My country isn't a country, it winter". Been from Quebec we have really cold winter and lots of snow. We had so much snow this years that most city have an hard time finding place to dump the snow off the road. Also, if it hadn't melted a few time, I'ld probably wouldn't know where to put the snow that we shoveled out of the drive way. With all that said, it truely love winter and I don't really love summer. Cold winter and with lots of snow will probably be one of the thing i'll miss if I ever move to japan.

It snowed weeks ago, but it didn't last long. Mostly rain and wet snow most of the time. In our region, we rarely get snow now. Instead we get lot's of rain. Makes me miss the bright yellow summer sun right now=/ Rain+cold cloudy weather= down syndrome -o-

Nope, no snow here. An eternal summer, to be poetic, but to put it simply it's tropical here in Singapore.

I've always wanted to be able to make snowmen and play with snow. With any luck, I might encounter some next year or something.

I live in the northern end of the Sacramento valley in California we get snow here once every 5-10 or so. Never very much and it doesn't stick around for very long. While we didn't get any this year the city an hour north of here got several inches over the course of three or four storms but again it stick around for long.

Never ask a Canadian if it snows here, you'll just get an essay back. A really depressing and boring essay. But it seems so far that most people in to poll live in warmer areas. But I have half a metre of snow up here, I'm starting to miss summer and wishing it were warm here too. Funny thing is, I prefer winter over spring, spring is WAY too muddy from snow melting and the rain. So I want summer, but don't like the process of getting there, lol.

Snow keeps coming down and sometimes melts every now and then only to be replaced by new fresh deep snow. Heck it was snowing awhile ago here. I know someone who hates it but I like to see the beauty of it when it falls down quietly and calmly, freshness of it.

Where I live in California (South Bay Area...NorCal) it's pretty mild and even though it can get reasonably cold here (like 30F lol) it never snows. It might snow every 25-50 years but not REAL snow, just some flakes that probably melt as soon as they touch the ground.

Looks great! I love snow - its my favourite weather - yes - even more than sunshine!

Everything looks brighter, lighter and cleaner (something the UK needs!), and everywhere just seems more intresting on the senses as we dont get snow that often.
I was hoping it would snow while i were in Tokyo over the new year, but alas, it didnt.

Wish i were there - i'd love to see japan in the snow. It would remind me of the hauntingly beautiful snow scenes in Mamorou Oshii's Patlabor 2 film.

This year has been a banner year for snowfall here. It's been kind of crazy since it seems people have forgotten how to drive on the stuff though.

Watching the snow fall is definitely one of the more relaxing things a person can do. Snowball fights can be fun too.

Tokyo belongs in those parts of the globe where in summer is hot and humid and has snow on winter, same happens on States New England.

Unfortunately it's extremely rare to snow here, last time it snowed was on January 2006 and before that it was 50 or 60 years ago. I've never seen a town or city filled with snow with my own eyes but traveling to other countries in snowy winters might be a little of a problem with the flight plan XD

Wow that really looks like a fun day -or afternoon was it?- to just relax. I really need to get out the constantly crazy and insane life I'm in right now. Hell, let all the rest of fools work themselves to death and go nowhere. Sorry, guess I'm a little stressed as of late.

I'm really surprise at all the large amount of snow that fallen at one time. Not really a normal thing for there, is it? We have gotten a lot more snow here as well. Reminds me of when I was a kid.

You are a brave soul Danny.  If I paused to take a picture during a snowball fight, I would get pummeled by my fiancee.  Never turn my back on her when snow is around. ^^;

That Ramen looks so good! Since we are talking about snow... Look at the Ramen reminds me of when I was a kid. My mom would always have homemade chicken soup when I would come inside after playing in the snow.

Ah, was about to say that it hasn't snowed those past few days, but it is as I'm writing this now. That's peaceful to see/watch, but the generally cold outside temperatures don't make it a pleasurable experience at times... (Though I prefer that than rain or the great summer heat)
Going to have my share since I have to buy food supplies for the week.

that looks very nice, i love snow and I was born in a very snowing country. There is a lot of snow in Belarus. Always so pretty after it just snowed. In Maryland, USA we normally get not a lot of snow and couple of years ago in 2002 we had so much snow that I had no school for a week. Nice times, however each winter we are getting less and less snow. This winter I'm barely even wearing winter clothing, its too warm. It snowed like 3 times but it feels more like spring. Kind of sad, I'm used to having snow on my birthday in February and there was no snow. I WANT MY SNOW lol ^_^

It used to snow every year here in Belgium, but the last couple of years it's been less and less, and this winter we haven't had one drop of real snow :( And the weather is already turning to warmer, so we won't have any snow at all any more here. I would love to have snow like in Tokyo again here.

I don't see snow that often, but I have witnessed some in Canada (even in summer). Having snow in southern England is usually a rare sight, and having any in Hong Kong is near impossible (though it did have hail before).

The most ridiculous time I had with snow was a white April Fool's day in New York state.

I've been waiting for those pics, thanks Danny!

Unfortunately no snow here this year. It seems that we're having less and less snow every year which is quite sad because I adore snow. I think snow can be a lot better than sunshine and heat sometimes :0

Hmm, here in the centre of Tokyo it snowed too (Takeshita dori in the snow), but it pretty much vanished overnight (second and third pictures in this post).

Personally I'm not too sad the snow's gone, because snow = cold, and these Japanese houses aren't very well insulated :-(.

Aha, this blog strips links (and doesn't have a preview function so you can see this might happen), so my comment below doesn't make sense (I intended to link to a couple of posts on my website with snow-related pictures ;) ).
