Well I'm guessing its not worth having such police cars because technology breaks real easily these days. In my city, we have 2-3 dodge chargers as police cars, but all the others are impalas which are pretty trustworthy to my knowledge and once you put a turbo in those, they go quite fast. Italy has a lambo police car, I don't have a link to it, but its quite popular and I'm guessing most of you heard of it. What special car does your city use? As of tax money, living in Canada, more specificaly in Quebec, the cold winters and hot summers take their toll on the road, if it wasn't for the roads being repaired every year in most city's, the government would have lots more money to invest in other sectors.
haha, i LOL'd at that part of the professional. BRING ME EVERYOOOONE!!! anyway, nice to know your tax dollars aren't going to waste (big sarcasm). i fail to see why they had to deploy that many cars, i mean they could've just set up some blockades and deployed some road spikes or something. And as for japanese cars, i remember that one scene in fast and furious: tokyo drift where they passed the police on the highway and the cops didn't even bother to chase them because they were going over 200mph, is that actually true? over here all the cop cars are sleepers, high performance but look like total crap. but i don't know how they handle as i've never driven or ridden in the back of one before, but no one is stupid enough to try to out run one.
Gary Oldman rocks. Nuff said.
The Dodge charger patrol cars LOOK cool, lol. But that many cars going after one guy? Talk aobut overkill. But at least they caught him, can you imagine if they had mobilized that big of a force and lost their man? That would be so bad.
Hm, i don't know if such an car is necessary in citys with alot of traffic jam. But in Germany (Bavaria) we have use normaly (we also have older cars) cars like BMW 520d Touring 177PS 224km/h max. http://polizeiautos.de/pics/bay-einsatz-auslieferung-bmw5er-bepo-gruen.jpg Or sometimes the BMW 530d 235PS 245km/max. (i believe mainly used for our highways)
In Germany they use mostly Volkswagen and BMW for police service. Well I think they were rageous because colleagues of them where killed, thus I can totally understand why they used EVERYONE(!) to chase this man.
Never ever mess with Japan's Police Force. ^^
Oh, and for all the Lucky Star fans, I just found Yui's policecar xD http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/aktion/Attachment.html?attachmentId=323451&ajax=true
My father's police department (Mount Morris, MI) did a car update a few years ago. Yes, if you turbo an Impala they go fast, but the new Ford cars they use (I can't remember what they are) go much faster. As for using everyone possible, how far did he get? I know here if someone crosses township or county lines, the new jurisdiction adds their own people to the chase.
That police car is way cooler than the ones we have in the UK. Looks futuristic in comparison.... lol
heh a bunch of canadians posting first, but yea we have chargers here though I've never seen them actually chasing anyone. I think they just got them for show ;p
EVERYONE!! I laught my ass of!! >___< Serious I´m still going!! Hahahaha!! Genius!
Excellent video btw. This guy needs to chill, really. ^^;
Yeah - i read about that on Japan probe a few days ago. Pretty mental! I love that clip - Stansfield from Leon is one of the best film baddies of all time, and that line is great! EEEEEVVVVVRRRYYYYOOOOOOONNNNE!
Well, once a while on our local forums, forumers did questioned about our local police patrol car. So far we do not have fast and awesome police cars. However our police bike squad just upgraded their rides to Fireblade *That EVERYONE clips reminds me of Agent CROSS in NFS:MW
While I can't speak for the rest of our country (US), I can speak for our state and my local region which is managing money extremely well. Our local police force are all loaded with Dodge Chargers, more specifically the state highway patrol. However, nation-wise we have a bunch of imbeciles who probably never stepped inside a finance and/or economics class. I tell you one thing, come start of 2009 hopefully we finally get someone DECENT in office and get rid of the joke we currently have.
OH my god Danny that made me laugh! "EVERYONE!!!!!11!!1!!1one" Anyways, that sounds responsible...
BMW's for police cars? Are they cheap in Germany, because in most countries that would be a total waste of money for police cars. I always find it strange when I go back to visit Portugal and see the taxis are all Mercedes, whereas in Toronto they are all low end cars and always look totally beat up.
460 police cars chasing a single car? wtf?! Sounds a bit like they didn't know how to deal with the situation so they just went for a police overkill
2,240 officers, 460 police cars and one helicopter to catch one guy in high speed? Well since it was inside a city it can sure be hard but was it really needed so many officers and cars to capture on guy? I don't know about there but here most of the cars for high speed chases are undercover high speed cars, I remember going on the highway one day on route to Lisbon and then one guy passes by me at least with a speed around 200km/h few seconds another car passes by at even higher speed which was an undercover car, I never saw something so fast on the road in my life.
Sounds like the Blues Brothers. If you haven't seen that movie go see it!
I read this on japanprobe, thought it was hilarious. what else is there to say :P
i only know the police car my country is a subaru rx 2=.=
I wonder what it would have been like to be a pedestrian watching lines of cops cars trailing a single offender? I bet I know how it went. The guy would speed through intersections, while the cops would patiently wait for the light to go green. Damn that speeder and his genius~!
us government..... need i say more :(
the japanese police car remids me of Binaltech Prowl. one certainly feels safe with a transformer patrolling the streets. ('~')

anyway regarding are tax payers money well spent in your region? singapore ministers are the highest paid politicians in the world. they just given themselves a raise last year, with another one coming soon this year. >.
Prowl has a gun and a mini-lightsaber? Wow! Overkill!!
i guess Osaka Police Force doesn't get much action before this incident XDDD at least people get to see where their taxes go to. here, we don't see where our taxes go to except to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and recently the automation of the lower house (congress) lol
2000+ police to chase 1 man? Don't know whether this is call efficient or inefficient. ^^;;;
Well spent tax payers money, in my country? Not quite so. Most of the money either goes to the politician's stomach or to ambitious megastructure projects that tends to become a mere white elephant before or after completion. All that money should've been used to maintain existing infrastructure, further aiding the poor, or heck, with all that money, make education free.
I think Gary Oldman's performance in that movie was a bit over the top and too eccentric for my tastes. As far as I know, most southeast-Asian countries governments are too corrupt and tied up in red tape, Indonesia and the Philippines for example. As for here in the US, I'm pretty sure it's the same but they don't make it too obvious until you read about it in the papers. Here in New Jersey alone, we have our fair share of corrupt politicians. On a little side note, I want to drive that Japanese police car, it looks awesome.
Wow... the video made me lmao! lol! I remember last summer i saw about four police cars chasing one motorcicle. IT WAS SWEEET!!! Made me want to be on that bike. *sigh* and the talk about taxes...DON'T. EVEN. GO. THERE. If "I" start talking about the Stupid taxes I am going to murder someone! Ugh! anyways...why the heck so many police men for one misly man?
LOL they really did bring everyone...
Haha, wow! Hey Danny, let me know when the Japanese police starts to spend tax money on those so-called (cough-cough) "Gundam" suit systems! LOL!
Now that's a true definition of everyone. What would I gove to see the chase footage with all the cars and heli.
Doubt there`s any car chase in singapore
EVERYONE!!! I liked that. :P
Madness, absolute madness.
wow that police car looks amazing, so futuristic. Well taxes here in my state are relatively spent well, we have health insurance and financial support for people who don't make enough money and there is increase in road constructions, modernizations, and size increase. However, there is still not enough money and they increased sales tax :-(
Best movie of all time. As for mobilizing a small army to chase one guy, Im impressed. I know that when someone gets pulled over in my neighborhood, about four police cars usually appear in two minutes to "help out". As for modified cop cars, I had cop friend show off a charger. But most of them drive around in new Chevy Tahoes. @Neil Duckett: Madness.. Madness? THIS-IS-OSAKA!!
that movie is my most favourite one ever! :P
That wanted man must have had the evasion skills of a ninja. Either that, or the police really suck LOL
LOL!! That video is GOLD! EVERYONEEE!! lololol I luv Japanese chief police officers! ^^ And, thanks for the video Dragun. ^^
Welcome, Im glad everyone enjoyed it. Leon!
great way to spend money by going overkill on a single man... in singapore a missing-person case has to wait 48 DAMN HOURS! the missing person could have ended up in some backwater locaion by then. granted, some of them do turn up after a while, but...
LOL @ that screen cap.. what movie is that btw. i cant remember the name of it. Thats a nice looking RX8 Police car.. Here is a pic of what they use here in Sydney for a police car. http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/lotusexigepolicecar.jpg
Haha elise :D Here in finland we have one jaguar and i think there is one corvette. Audi quatro 2.2 and couple of dodges. Of course we have normal police cars too.
For all the car enthusiasts out there, heres a look at all the types of police cars around the world. thought it be cool to share this link with all of you ^^ ==>http://www.gadling.com/2007/07/18/police-cars-from-around-the-world/
Gnarly squad car, looks like a batmobile proto type.
Dang, so much police force went after one guy...
WOAH. sweet police car XD
Japan takes their policing seriously.
They sent the whole police squadron after only a speeding car? THIS IS MADNESS! Anyway over here, taxpayer's monies are being spent on unnecessary stuffs like building lift extensions to apartment blocks, destroy pavements that are not so old and re-tiling them, invest in the military which is pointless cause our country is so small it can be invaded in under one day and so on. So now you know your money's worth.
Seeing that RX-8 police car, I'm starting to miss the old Dutch Porsche 911 Targa police cars again. ^^ The Dutch government loves to spend tax money on unnecesary and pointless things, like stupid information publicity, a dozen of pointless commissions, thousands of totally unnecessary civil servants, etc., etc.
Osaka saw a lot of live action, I see. Too bad I haven't witnessed anything as exciting as thousands of police officers chasing after a single lone man, who I presume wasn't armed...
Hmm... I'm getting Batman vibes from that RX8. Could it be? The Dark Knight is *gasp* Japanese???
