The next maid thing to set the otaku population into a frenzy.

This lady is an abandoned maid left on the streets to starve. She has written on the box "Hirotte Kudasai" [ひろってください] (Take me home) and "Oitekanaide" [おいてかないで] (Dont leave me here).

If you saw this poor sweet starving maid left in a box on the streets, would you take her home to care and feed her?

I'm not sure about it. If she goes "adopt me" with puppy eyes and becomes bossy once you invite her to your house, but that's a risk to take right?

...A risk I'd never go for. You can hate me and wish to throw boulders at my face, but I won't change my mind. I'm not into maids, period. :|

I'd ask her what she did to end up up in a box (seriously, why a box?) then consider it. But most likely I would decline to take her home since she probably wouldn't look underfed or starved. That's just me.

So what ad campaign is this? A new "take away" maid service because cafes and sleeping next to them isn't good enough?

Honestly, how could you possibly say no to that face? She could ask for my spleen and I, dumbstruck, would probably just nod and say "uh huh" before tripping over my feet as I walk away backwards. :P

Why would 14% say no?? Not just as a pervy 'wahey' type thing, but as an essential humanitarian measure!

Whats the deal behind that pic anyway? Are Akiba maids trying out new tactics to attract customers in this cut-throat maid cafe business?

There has to be some deep underlying psychological explanation for this maid fascination. Godizilla is supposedly Japan's way of dealing with the Atom Bombs? Smashing Tokyo using supernatural destructive powers. What could the maid symbolize? Hmmm?
