Auto Salon is a huge car event held throughout the world where you can inspect, sit in and take pictures of cars, cars and more cars.
Auto Salone (notice the "e" on the end) however is an event that recently started which features itasha, itasha and more itasha ^^

I didnt know about this event but if I'd known then I would have went along. Luckily, Ellcy90 went along and you can see more pics at his blog.
One thing though, Auto Salon features lots of campaign girls whereas Auto Salone features a load of otaku - maybe the next event will have maids.
A police itasha spotted by Ellcy90 in Akiba.

Thanks for the laugh hehe.

I wonder how much the figures in the car suffer from heat O_o
Some are very beautiful, but some others are... let's say, too much?

Oh! I saw the Nanoha car before in Akiba before. Took some photos as well. Inside was even crazier, a 30+ inch LCD monitor replaying Nanoha over and over again at the passenger seat, and a smaller LCD at the back of the car which does the same thing.

I like what they did with the black Efini FD! The white Honda with Nanoha looks awesome, too! It's really infested with Nanoha ^^;

I'd love to attend such an event.
Generally Auto Salons bore me to death. I'm not into cars and new models don't excite me at all, and more because I know next to nothing about car mechanics. So when I am in one of them (-by accident- I quickly browse and go away)

I wonder what a Fate Testarossa Itasha would do on a Testarossa car... No, forget the thought.

If there are stupid ads on cars and Itasha on Police Cars (oopsie)... why couldn't otaku people express their love for anime and games this way?

I like my cars clean, one color, lowered, wheels, and modded. I don't want something that stares people down while I drive. I'd put a small decal on, but not something that takes up my door.

In the US, we call them import shows, mainly because most of the cars are modded Japanese cars.

Then we also have campaign girls, but we call them import models, or umbrella girls for racing events.

Itasha would feel right at home at any of the import shows I've been to.

I wouldn't mind doing something like that to my xA (aka "ist"), but more on the minimalist side. I don't get all of the window detailing that they've done - it'd probably bug the crap out of me, but a lot of the body work is fantastic!

Definitely like the work on the Haruhi/SOS-dan pic (any other photos of the car?).

Anyone out there know if these are vinyl decals? I'm interested in know _how_ this is done.

I'm surprised so many people like Nanoha's itasha - I've seen lots of different itasha all featuring characters from the series, but never ones of say, Belldandy from ah! megami-sama, or similar...

Are the Nanoha characters considered far more moe than other characters...?

but I never saw these though! only saw mainly the big powered GT-R's, MR2's, Silvia's and the now popular Kei Cars like the Subaru R1's! I want a Kei Car and get it imported to the UK

btw TAS I think is about the same time next year

Liberationalist: Tokyo Auto Salon is main for showcasing JGTC circuit cars, high powered time attack cars, drift cars, wheels, new parts, and new cars. Whereas this auto salone is just a car meet.

PowerCore: All RX7s were made rear wheel drive. There was no model with a FWD or AWD. Being Mazda's top level performance coupe at the time, it wouldn't make any sense being FWD, AWD possibly.

Danny: The doors that go up are called lambo doors. Often seen on Lamborghinis and high end exotics.
