Next up are the Armored Core kits.
While a lot of us mecha fans will appreciate the good designs, I get the feeling that the majority of people who buy the kits are the ones who have actually played the games.
The interesting thing is that if I see a nice figure but know nothing about the anime or game that she is in, I would still go ahead and buy..

haven't played armored core but those mecha figures are beautiful ^^

i wouldn't mind buying one and adding to my collection ^^

same here, even though i don't know anything about an anime, manga or game where the figures is based upon as long as i see that it's well crafted and the figure is beautiful...i'll still buy it even if i don't have money to buy one XP

Like most people, i have nil experience in playing armored core games. But i wouldn't mind buying one of them though cuz they have coolez mecha designs.

Hey danny, do you mind turning this pic to wallpaper? Cuz the pose is awesomely coolez.

does anyone know if these kits are like the gundam kits made by bandai (snap fit, colored, etc) or are they just figures?

The armoured core kits are snap together kits like the gundam ones (for the most part) and stand about 20cms tall, so between 1/144 and 1/100 scale.

I have one and they are very nice to look at with a lot of detail in the kits but there are some really annoying parts. I have a mini review on my blog for those interested. just look under the mecha category.

The Amored Core games series are really nice to play, but they do haven some level of difficulty which is really nice. Its also really nice to have different customizations and parts to suit your own style of play.

The only thing I don't really care for with the Armored Core kits is the fact they're from a game series where a good portion of the fun is in designing your own mech. So a few kits of specific builds seems somewhat counter-intuitive.

Amstrad: The Armoured core models are a part of a specific line. The various parts are actually interchangeable to a degree. You can replace the arms, body head, legs and weapons, to a degree.

There are no chicken, hover or tank legs and not all the arm types are present. But you can swap parts between kits easily and you can also buy more individual parts from the kotobukiya website.

These are so awesome! I need to get one of these and spend a lot of time custom building and painting it.

I'm tempted to get the xbox360 or PS3 because of Armored Core 3's graphics which look great!

Correction Otaku Surf you maybe talking about Armored Core 4 and not 3 since I have that one for PS2.

Armored Core robots are very cool, much more realistic than Gundam but I heard the kits can be rather small with some needing glue and painting which prevents me to buy any of them. If the kits were just the Gundam ones then I would gladly get some AC kits

I always thought armored core graphics were some of the best around, especially now with armored core 4. The figures are spectacular and highly detailed as well.

I should be getting a AC kit in a couple of days when it arrives. Ill be sure to post the height and width on here to compare to a gundam.. maybe a pic if I can send one to Danny. I havent played the game in forever.. but from what I hear its pretty simple. You are a mercenary, you build your own AC (Armored Core), weaponize it and go shoot stuff until you win. You can also win money in tournaments. There is some political things, and some intrigue.. but mostly buy the most expensive AC and kill everything else. The controls always sucked though.

Been playing Armored Core since 1998. I kinda grew up with it, up to the point where the control schemes that many complained being 'bulky' felt like it's a part of my own body. (^__^)

I always wanted to buy an Armored Core model kit, but the pricetag is a bit too much compared to Gundam model kits. Since I'm already occupied with another expensive hobby (1/6 action figure), its kinda difficult to partition some of my spendings for AC kits.

Ah no more great looking mecha!! Just kidding!! I have a Armored Core kit myself, these are so detailed it's a little scary at first. I got the Cronus Vixen, man you need to do so much to make it look good. It's just sitting on my shelf test fitted begging me to paint it correctly.

I really like those kits. They rank as equals to the kits of Wing, X, and G Gundam for me. I have two right now and want to get more.

I guess people don't care if they do well in the games for as long as they get a good model kit. Anyways, these are great!
