First off, pardon for this somehow unrelated anime/otaku/Japanese post. Was reading through Danny's past trooper posts last night and was inspired to ask this question. Is there a 501st Legion Garrison in your region? If yes I'm interested to know what do they do. ^^; The Singapore Garrison here is a non-profit volunteer group. Other than appearing in major events/parades, the local 501st also do charity work which I felt was great. One is trooping for a good cause. ^^; Recruitment flyer above. 501st has very strict regulations with regards to the armour you have. Non-compliance to their standards means Vader don't want you. :-(

I made myself a Konata tshirt! I'm a Fanboy! LOL! Any suggestions on what words should I put below? I also had troubles mixing beige, she looks quite tanned. Any advice? :( Hopefully I will do a better 1 next time. It looks quite terrible up close. But hey, there's a different feel to it with my shaky hands, I guess it looks like hand draw instead of printed. Rest of the images at the blog here

well, surfing the news and found this... http://www.mercurynews.com/peninsula/ci_9785519 its about how google/youtube was ordered by a judge to hand over user data of everybody who visits and what they watch in order for Viacom (and others) to move forward there law suit.. this brings a question to mind.. how many out there use proxy sites like hidemyass.com and others to hide themselves?? If not this.. then what steps do you take to protect yourself??

For those people who don't want to use LiteStep for their desktop since it is bulky + buggy, I recommend them using customized XP themes. This, go along with some other customization can also give you a nice desktop without losing precious RAMs. This screen shot was taken when I was trying out alternative ways to achieve a nice desktop without LiteStep. The tutorial is on the way.... :)

Yay! First Post! The picture is taken by Hiraya and my friend in the ToyCon 2008 event, and as you can see they are twins cosplaying -- a rare sight. I wanted to share this pic even before the ToyCon 2008 post was made but just before gaining the privilege to post, the requirements to post turned from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. :( Anyway, for me the twins are cute but I don't know their profile nor what character they're cosplaying. Is there anyone here that knows their profile? The final winner will take home $250,000." I've talked to a few folks who have watched it, and they found it funny (I have yet to see it). Anyone here seen it (on TV or internet)? Knives are not the only thing you need to watch out for in Akiba... A man was given a spot check in Akiba after "looking suspicious". The man suddenly started to spit on the police officer - around 30 times a minute and was described like "a spitting machine gun." NicoNico Douga announced that it made an agreement with the likes of the Japan Animation Association to delete videos which infringe copyright so its sayonara to MAD and a ton of other fan made videos. Kadokawa did recently say that they wont be taking action against fan made videos that were uploaded to YouTube as it looks like they made an agreement with YouTube to monetize from fan made videos. Wondering why a similar agreement wasn't made with NicoNico. Will be interesting to see how a site that is originally popular with fan made videos survives without them. Any NicoNico users here? Via Itai News.

Anime Expo

I'll be attending Anime Expo (held at the Los Angeles convention center) for the first time this year, but unfortunately I will only be able to go on the first day. I'm curious to know, how many here will be attending? How many have gone before? Does anyone know of any good vendors in particular? And maybe some would like to meet up over there, maybe take some pics and post them here in the news items. :p Image taken from the Anime Expo main site (Hopefully they won't mind.) Cable Free Mac Setup

I am a bit fascinated by desks so while surfing through FlickR I found this very nice setup by one of its members. I see there are people that are also a bit obsessed just like me. You've seen my desk and Danny's desk and some of the other members that have posted there setup as well. This one is very clean and looks like an advertisment for Apple. Im very surprised to see that the cables are hidden so well. Who else here has a cable problem under their desks?
