Hamburg Conference

The Trend Tag (Trend Day) conference went well with only one major hiccup - my MacBook Pro decided to die just a few hours before the presentation. Luckily I made a backup to a flash card but it wasn't the latest copy. Was able to use another presenters mac for my talk which saved my life - he was the only one with a mac + keynote. I only have these screencaps at the moment and am waiting for the official photos t be released. The video of the whole conference will be released too and will post them when ready. Would just like to say thanks to all for your words of encouragement which went through my head just before I stepped on stage. And yes - that is Haruhi on the podium ^^;

In the words of Luke Skywalker: "NOOOOO!!!!!" LOL, just kidding, it's easy to forgive the nicest, hardest-working trooper in the otakusphere with the unimaginable weight (and joy) on his shoulders. ^_^; Since Danny asked us to post and tag our fan art, better late than never... Here's my favorite 750x750 section from my 1800x1200 art piece "Shadows of Time", completed on October 11, 2007 (about 77 total hours spread thinly over 5 busy months), based on the sci-fi plot of Danny's proposed anime *Mirai no Mirai* and featuring my big-screen interpretation of the shadowy *Shiro Otoko* (Man in White) and Mirai Suenaga in her *Meisai Gear* battle suit (in semi-visibility). After all, I FINALLY get to see Mirai in ass-kicking battle mode! ^_^ Just simple tools: Photoshop 7, my Dell laptop plus wide monitor, and my Microsoft trackball mouse. Natto

Natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented Soybeans - read up on it at Wikipedia if you have not come across it. The smell is incredible and I still have not acquired the taste for it. Many Japanese people cant eat it too. Have you tried or come across Natto? The maki sushi with the poo like substance is Natto - me wife loves it ^^;

Seen the art work from this series but didnt know much about it. the girls in it are lovely. One thing I noticed about this anime however is that there seems to be little animation going on. I could be wrong but I think they chose to go for quality frames rather than the amount of frames. Have not watched all of it yet but like what I see. Does the lack of animated frames put you off from watching a show? Part 1.
