Curry Fair! I think I know what time of year I want to go back to Japan again in ;p Thats the one thing I miss the most, is the curry. All the tonkatsu over here is like 3mm thick, dry, and without curry. Really sucks. ( コメントを見る » )

The depth of field on that lens is pretty nice! Looks like you can get some extremely shallow pics, and stuff inbetween. ( コメントを見る » )

I gotta say, a lot of japanese phones look alike, and like someone else said, theres so many clamshells. But I'd rather get an iphone, dont really like the look of the japanese ones (although the features are great) And I guess thats the latest activity form Roy we're gonna see for a while :< sucks how hes not blogging. Though it looks like he did end up getting iphone, even thought he said he wouldnt ;p ( コメントを見る » )

Yea, it was pretty crappy. I don't think many people will watch it. Though the car itself looked cool at times. ( コメントを見る » )

Gorillapods are really cool. Its kinda like a tripod, except it can wrap around things. Like a pole, or a bench, or pretty much anything. Check them out at http://www.joby.com/ , theyre pretty neat and cheap. ( コメントを見る » )

Yea, theres always ways to photoshop things but all you need to do to make HDR is just bracket +2 and -2 exposure, along with the original photo. Then just run it through a photoshop plugin, and you get the results. But long exposures still look pretty nice, similar to HDR. ( コメントを見る » )

Long exposure pictures always look really good, and these are some nice shots. You might want to look into HDR photos danny, they come out really crazy, and theyre pretty easy to do. All you need is a tripod. Would look really good in tokyo. For new people getting a dslr, the nikon d40/d40x is a pretty good one, and its fairly cheap. I regret not getting a dslr when I was in japan, cause they way overpriced here, but now with the xsi and live preview, I'll probably end up getting it. Live preview = awesomeness in a dslr : D ( コメントを見る » )

Only bug I've had for a while is not seeing new paragraphs in Firefox 2. Kinda hard to explain, but it will show line breaks, but if you press enter twice after a line, you dont see that extra space that the 2nd enter would normally give. Been like that for a while for me with FF2 in OSX. (I wouldn't see the space above this line) ( コメントを見る » )

Yea, the xacti line always seems nice, because you can just throw it in a bag, and have a video camera. Though are they HD in the new generations? The screens aspect ratio looks a bit wonky, though it could just be the picture. But having a waterproof camera would be really cool, especially last time I went scuba diving, I couldn't take any pictures :< (and the link to the video is 404ing for me, dunno if you took it down cause of bandwidth) ( コメントを見る » )

In Canada, most of the run down places would be within the big cities, or if the areas been around for a while. I'd say a lot of Canada is suburbs, which were made recently, past 30 years or so, so if you're in the suburbs, it'll be nice, downtown, then you can find old run down places. ( コメントを見る » )

Japanese curry is amazing. Tonkatsu curry is probably my favorite, though its even good by itself with rice. Though the packaged stuff here isn't amazing, it can still fill the craving for it. ( コメントを見る » )

I usually buy the silicone cases, because they don't damage the gadget at all, and they make it feel nicer. But I got a hard case on my MBP, and when I take it off it looks brand new, makes it seem like I get a new mac whenever I take it off. ( コメントを見る » )

My motherboard died on my MBP too, I had no video on the screen, but it still booted up in OSX fine. Apple replaced the motherboard, and my DVD drive too, all for free. 1200$ for parts, replaced for free = happy me. I'll probably end up getting Apple Care, just incase something happens again in the future. Time machine is also a lifesaver, makes backing up really easy, and saves a lot of time. Lastly, I never actually saw good photos of replacing the HDD inside, so I'm pretty happy you showed them, was kinda skiddish about replacin... ( コメントを見る » )

Oh wow, the new comment box is really nice. And I'm happy that you included the snapshots into the site, they make browsing a lot easier, and you dont ever have to leave the site now. Only thing, are you moving to a new colour scheme/layout? Cause the dropdowns kinda seem out of place >_>; Maybe its just the darkness of the grey thats doing it. ( コメントを見る » )

It is a waveform monitor (with vectorscope as well). They're similar to oscilloscopes, but used specifically for video calibration, and not looking at general electric signals. ( コメントを見る » )

Hey Danny, that interesting device you're talking about is called a Waveform Monitor (and it looks like it has a vectorscope built in too). You use em to make sure that the brightness and black levels are set properly, and also to make sure that the colours are right. Theres a lotta neat tech that goes on in making commercials/tv shows and its really cool to use it and be in the industry and work behind the scenes. And to someone else comment on how it takes a lot of people to put together something, everything in TV and film take... ( コメントを見る » )
