Fuel has been fluctuating between 145 yen and lately up to 165 yen per litre ..... down near where i work anyway, so actually still cheaper than Australia ... and considering the much shorter distance you need to drive here it's a lot cheaper. ( コメントを見る » )

Great post Danny, was once again captivated by the words and missed the pictures. I can point to a few "defining moments" that have shaped the last 10+ years of my life so I especially related to the "Without my language skills I probably ....." paragraph. Without the on the spot decision to move to Queensland i would not have learnt the Software i use which opened a door in Melbourne which in turn saw me working for the Software company as a teacher / consultant which has now allowed me to live in Japan for the last few... I think the ones closer to Tokyo you may be OK, they have an automated purchasing procedure, it's the ones out of town that have someone working and taking your $$ that see you're solo. ( コメントを見る » )

They can be as cheap as 1200 yen for an hour, 3000 yen for 4 hrs and 7000 yen for 10 hrs ... depending on what area you are in too .... i've stayed in rooms in Kabukicho for 25,000 for 2 hrs. ( コメントを見る » )
