Currently a student in Computer Engineering, I have plans of studying Japanese at the University I'm transferring too as well. I want to learn Japanese mostly because I can see myself living there someday, not really for the otaku culture, but because of the technology. Going a bit more in depth, here in the States consumer technology is lagging years behind some parts of the world. Namely Japan. Japan being one of the nations on the bleeding edge of that, is a huge reason why I want to live there, so I can work for a company that is on the frontier of technology. Naturally the otaku culture is a plus!

Anime Sequels

Rumor is that the mangaka is an RPG nut, and whatever Dragon Quest comes out he literally drops everything to play it. I'd love to see Hunter x Hunter continue, as it has probably the best character development I've ever seen in a shounen. I believe I read somewhere that after the current arc is over in the manga, they are planning on making an anime version of it. However I believe it'll be another OVA. ( コメントを見る » )

Code Geass Episode 21 Discussion

Well the overall focus was still kept, lelouch's goal will still to protect nunnally and the sort. However, the characters made radical changes this season which really makes you feel like the focus is different. Suzaku, Lelouch are very different for example. I really think the only characters that kept to the same were Nunnally, Shirely, Kallen, and Rivalz. It still felt like you knew who they were, the rest it was like an overnight change.
