Started taking Japanese in college and got more and more interested in Japan, spent summers there at language school and a full year after graduation studying (on my college's tab!). Couldn't find a job there initially but started work with a company that has offices aroudn the world, and successfully made the transition to the Tokyo office. Expat package = win
