Personally I think it's a good idea in principal, but I'm a little jaded on the subject as it's being taken too far in Ontario.
Yea, smoking's bad for you, but so is most fast food, or alcohol.
So anyway, in Ontario you must be 10feet from any building entryway. And recently they extended the definition of a "place of work" to include company vehicles, which would inculde my service van.
I enjoy the odd cigar once in a while, and smoke colts maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I could be fined for smoking all by myself while driving. That's wrong.
As a slightly related note. I heard yesterday that there's a campaign going on to impose fines on second hand drinking... huh? As far as I understand they want to be able to fine you for being drunk around someone else, I guess because there's a possibility you could do something stupid and injure them...
